Saw this number on caller id, so answered it and had a very rude Asian woman ask me who I was so answered her,'You phoned me, you should know? Then asked me for my date of birth, so asked who they were? lloydstsb I want your date of birth. Due to being scammed a year ago by someone claiming to be from Capital One, I was not going to give any details, so told them this, to which they said again we are Lloydstb what is your date of birth. They wouldnt tell me what it was about. I know I was late in my credit card payment but paid it the next day as I have internet banking and it showed that the payment has been taken out and how much credit I have on the credit card, along with my charges. Due to this now.....the first time ever I have missed a payment in the 15 years of being with Lloydstsb, I am going to try and find a bank that uses English call centres as I'm not funding some foreigner who works for 2 rupees a day, when we have our own in UK unemployed wanting to work. I want a British bank that uses British workers in Britain. I was late in payment due to my mother passing away. I've had to organise the sale of her house to which a considrable amount of money will be coming my way, and guess where it's not going...you guest it, not Lloydstsb! I would rather put it in a French bank as now the euro is 1 euro to £1, it would be better off in a French account! As soon as the funds go into the bank, the bank staff smile at you and ask you to put it into ISA or Tessa, well the answer is no!

I have been called continually for the past week around 5 times a day - on my work landline & on my mobile right up to 20.30 hrs.
These people are so damn rude - I am on a debt managemnt plan & my payments are reviewed every 6 months. Obvioulsy it is review time now & a new plan has yet to be accepted by Lloyds. It doesn't matter how many times I explain this to them, they don't listen.  It as nothing more than harrassment and it should be stopped..

Numerous messages left on my answerphone from this number claiming to be LloydsTSB and telling me to call 08456006393. Called it just out of curiosity as I have dealt with LTSB in the past so thought there was a small reason to think it might be genuine. A recorded voice answered the phone which told (not asked) me to enter my credit card number!

Needless to say that I hung up.

Just received second call from this number in 2 days asking for same person who is not me.  Told them this and asked to remove my number from whatever data they have.  They asked me to confirm my number?  I pointed out they had just called me and I wasn't going to confirm anything.  I was then told they were on an automated system and didn't know the number.  At that point I hung up.  I am a Lloyds customer so if this is a Lloyds number and they keep calling for anyone other than me I will complain in branch.

They've just started calling me: since Lloyds Bank have pissed me off quite enough lately with their laughably bad administration, I have taken great pleasure in hanging up on these guys. Told them to put it in a letter: if they are legit they will have to write to get a response from me, if they're bogus they won't write and won't get my details. Experienced similar 'harrassment' from carphone warehouse outsourced company. I find writing to the CEO/Chairman of these organisations explaining how this treatment ensures you will NEVER be a customer of theirs again usually has an effect. Copy it in to the editor of a National newspaper of your choice (doesn't matter if they don't print it, said CEO/Chairman will be most alarmed at seeing it has been copied to the media - besides, enough letters like that and the media might take an interest).

Rule of thumb: if they call you and ask for details, don't give them. If they're legit, they'll be only too happy for you to call the number the bank gave you in order to clarify any problems.

    .....
This is Lloyds tsb collection or their solicitors dep who deals with accounts being their go to court. Been reading an majority of the comments on here and half of you are talking rubbish. Not identifying yourself, hunging up, not answering or ignoring the fact your overdrawn or missing payments on your loan or credit card will only make the situation worse.

Just to make all of you aware- mismanaging your accounts could result in bank charges, defaults on your credit report for 10 years, charging orders on your house, warrant of executions/ CCJ'S and accounts being sold in to external collection agencies resulting in higher balances and of course baliffs. Oh there is more...attachment of earning ..list goes on..
Deal with your accounts, and stop being so rude and maybe all of you wouldnt be moaning. And by the way you cant class calls as harassment until they call AND spoke to you 5 times a DAY.
Hope this comment has settle your worries!!

The previous correspondent must be in the employ of Lloyds? Harrassment as reported in these pages can never be justified. If it is a scam,as many comments in this site indicate it could be,then insist on written communication only!

Ignore that troll called '......'.  Sechiari Clark and Mitchell (commonly abbreviated as SCaM or SCuM) have no hold over you.  Being that they are indeed part of LTSB, they are equally as useless at legal matters as LTSB is at banking or customer resolution.

For a start, credit defaults last 7 years and not 10.  The other thing is the credit reference agencies are in such disarray that much of the information they have logged is erroneous, against the wrong person entirely, or in relation to debts that cannot be proven.  If you think this sounds ridiculous or couldn't happen on a wide scale, then remember which country you're living in.

Even companies that assign consumer credit don't put nearly as much credibility as they might have, say 10 years previously, in information logged by Experian, Equifax or Callcredit for that reason!

Refer to www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum - search through historic threads and you'll find more than enough info to familiarise yourself with this sham company.

Oh, the key rule with SCuM is NOT to call them (they'll have nothing of truth to tell you).  Confirm no information with them via telephone, and nsist that you will accept no communication other than written.  They'll try to scare, lie, manipulate you on the phone in a manner they would not DARE to put on a letter.

Im an solicitor and I can confirm all the information posted by '....' is correct and credit defaults do last for 6-10 years and not 7 years as stated by the previous person.

From the information you've posted 'Alan', are you sure you're a solicitor and not one of LTSB/SCuM's call jockeys?  For one, you've put "Im" instead of "I'm".  If there's any job where spelling and diction are crucial, it's a solicitor.  Besides, '......' makes exactly the same mistake, which leads me to think that both messages are from the same person.  Are you monitoring this thread for your employers, 'Alan', to try and discredit the bad name your company has?  Is that why you posted your message only a few hours after mine?

And where do you get 6-10 years from?  You haven't said - is that what your employers have told you?  7 years comes from the CRAs themselves.

Contrary to what the troll said before, there is no obligation to speak to SCuM on the phone.  If you are over drawn and LTSB tries stinging you for charges (and they will!), claim them back under Section 2083 of the Unfair Consumer Terms and Contracts 1999.  The OPSI website lists exactly the passage of law relating to 'disproportionate penalty fees', so look there and cite that passage of law in your claimback letter.

Mismanaging of accounts?  Well, LTSB have a kind of monopoly in that respect.  All that stuff about bailiffs, attachment of earnings, etc etc - none of that can happen unless it actually goes to court, and LTSB/SCuM aren't going to do that unless they are VERY sure they can win.  And even if they do, this is LTSB, so they'll more than likely have made some monumental [***]-ups along the way in respect to default notices, termination notices, etc.

Also, '......' is wrong about the harassment as well.  If they keep calling, send a recorded delivery letter to them warning that they are in breach of the Protection From Harassment Act 1997 and if they ignore, complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service, The Information Commissioner's Office, The Office of Fair Trading, and your own local/Brighton (where SCuM are based) Trading Standards office.

Once again, go to Consumer Action Group (it's free to join) if you still need further info on how to deal with SCuM.

As for SCuM, it's just a sub-section of LTSB.  There's also a Sunday Times article obtainable via Google search entitled "Lloyds TSB 'puts frighteners on debtors'" which tells you more still about their practices.

??? - It is dodgy.  Let them write to you if they want to discuss anything with you.  Phone's no good, unless you have the means for recording it.
