- Mila| 1 replyDo u guys have any idea why do they do that [***]?
- october1 replies to MilaYes, they phone people because they are in debt. I was in bad debt for a while after losing a job due to ill health, but that doesn't give a company a right to harass you, phone your neighbours!?! or your workplace (which are both illegal where I live), or send threatening letters which have no legal standing,
- RantandraveAll I got was a sexy hello, and then she hung up, boy the wife will be impressed if she gets the same

- shatgothI've started getting calls from this number. I don't answer any calls on my mobile unless it's a number in my contacts. Debt collectors are talking rubbish if they threaten you with the bailiffs. They have no legal powers. They can't even visit you unless they have given you advance notice, and they aren't allowed to threaten you with sending bailiffs round. Courts can send bailiffs, but the debt collector has to pass the debt to the court. So if any debt collectors threaten you with bailiffs ask them how they are planning to do that ha ha. This website is quite useful http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/consumer_credit/oft664.pdf
A guy I used to work used to moo down the phone when he got cold calls. Ha ha.- Caller: credit security

- FredThis caller is a debt collection agency! Do not be afraid of them or pay them anything. Always say to them, do not talk about financial matters over phone, but write to me.
Then write to the company you owe money to and send them a minimum payment with a further minimum payment 4 weeks later. Do not pay the debt collection agency direct.. that's right, they r a Mickey Mouse Debt Collection agency. Then when debt agency call you again, say that u already have a payment plan in place with the company u owe money to.
Also if you 'do not' send a payment to the company you owe money to in time and the Debt Collection Agency issue court proceedings, always respond to the court paperwork within 14 days, sending along a letter detailing your reduced income, a breakdown of your earnings and an offer of a minimum payment...
My daughters a solicitor and she says not to be afraid of being taken to court, almost all judges will accept a minimum payment...That's why most credit card companies do not take you to court because they know that if you r on reduced income, a judge will either accept min payment or waiver the debt.- Call type: Debt collector
- NealI got a call from this company this morning. Some woman call Jenny asked for my ex-partner, he had run up a huge credit card debt before running out on me, No information about who she reperesnted. I said that he had left house over 6 months ago. She insisted that I was my ex-partner and that they would send around the baliffs to collect the money or do a poinding (warrant sale). I told them they could try the warrant sale all the like but it wont work. She said it would until I pointed out that warrant sales are illegal in Scotland and I am not the person they are after. She asked me to prove who I was. I said 'A way n bile yer heid' and the phone went dead.
Don't put up with their [***] crib sheet talk. They can't even get the law correct. Put the phone down on them and switch on the answerphone to record when they call. If it's more than 2 twice day report then to the governing body, CAB, OFCOM or whoever for harassment and stakling.
They are just parasites feeding of the poor, the sick and the down trodden in our society.- Caller: Credit Security Limited

- alI'm getting calls too. Yes I owe various monies, but I am seeking advice. Yet the harassment continues just as it does with another (or is it an affiliate) company.
I'm sick of it and it is now boiling my temper somewhat. - Not Ann MitchellHad calls for seven years now from various debt collection businesses after Mr and Mrs Mitchell. No matter how many times I tell these people those people that they are so desperate to get money out of have never lived here. No matter how many times you tell them the calls continue. One day I will catch up with these people, hack off their heads and [***] down their neck holes, that's what keeps me going :)

- Mrs HWho is this that calls but does not leave a message? I will not answer unless they tell me who they are.
- JL| 1 replyLeft a message on my answerphone saying "It is imperative you call us today".
No name, no information what it was about, nothing.
No call from me either....... - LJ replies to JLThey are legally only allowed to ring you once a week, any more is harrassment !!!( Spelling is off today), if they demand payment tell them your sending a written request for copys of the ORIGANAL agreement, if they cant provide them........they cant enforce the debt......so tell them to F**k off. I've had at least 4 companys chase me for the same debt (13 year old debt) they all threaten but never take action cos they cant. Just ignore them, I do. POWER TO THE PEOPLE , F**K EM ALL, LET GOD SORT 'EM OUT.
- LeftyI am ex-directory and I received a phone call from this number this afternoon asking to speak to a Stephen Dixon, I told them no one of that name lives here and he must have the wrong number,he then asked me for my address so he could delete it from their system, I just hung up on him as they are just calling trying to get personal details.

- emmathese are a right bunch, phoned my mobile earlier today and the stroppy mare on the other end got really narked when I told her I wasnt the person she was looking for. Then got to my parents house and the same number had left a msg asking for the person to call this number. My parents are ex-directory. So I called the number withholding mine and again got the same stroppy mare from earlier. She couldnt get the right time of day saying good afternoon and it was 6.45pm. So I wouldnt worry if they are calling you they probably have not got the right person. Apparantly they are a DCA who are absolute chancers and try to bully people into paying debts even if it's not the person they are looking for. Absolute thickos.

Dear Sirs,
Account No: XXXXXXXX (if Applicable)
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing. I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls and I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only. I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine. Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company may be recorded and used in evidence and I expect this harassment to cease immediately.
Yours faithfully- Call type: Debt collector
