- rachie2204These people are a pain in the [***]!! They've just rang my mobile and house number at the same time. After looking on this site I now know they are working for BT. I have got a problem at the minute with BT- suprise suprise!!!! They have also left em a message saying I must call them today, don't think so.....

- AnonymThey called me at 5.15 today. After finding this site I called them back and asked who they wanted to speak to . She kept asking my name but I wouldn't tell her. Eventually the operator said she was calling for Andrew McBride - not me, never heard of him, and he's never lived at this address. I was a bit short with her and asked her to remove my number from their database. I've also barred their number thanks to the feature on my home phone which allows me to do this. Could be that friend Andrew has given false information somewhere.

- slash| 1 replyThese D***HEADS NEVER WANT TO GIVE UP !!!!!!!!!!
having done further research have found this number is also linked to mackenzie hall debt collection agency who are using a 3rd party collection agency to collect on their behalf, or it could be themselves using an annonymous number under a bogus agency name either way it is rather annoying to recieve several calls a day on my private mobile number which i never use online or give to anyone other than family and close friends so how they got it in first place is a real mystery.
Also they actually trace debtors for third party debt collection agencys.- Caller: Credit Security Ltd / mackenzie hall debt collection

- Caller: Credit Security
- Call type: Debt collector
- SBI have been phoned twice by them, using my name, and telling me to phone back immediately. The calls have come in after office hours, which is very odd for any type of company. I don't owe anything, and have been sent no postal notifications of any debt, so I will not be returning the call!
- Caller: Gave no name
- machapJust received a call from a company called credit security limited asking to speak to my husband. When picking up the phone the woman on the other end was having a conversation with someone else ...good telephone skills. She said that she has written to him and rang before leaving messages and he hasnt rang back. Firstly no letters have been received and no messages on the phone. I open all mail as we are now in a dmp debt management plan. Told the women this and gave them our dmp ref no and she said can not except this. You all have the number down as 01296 642700 but just to let you know they are also using another number 0844 243 9930 so beware!!. No debtors have our home or mobile numbers. The only people we can think its relevant to is BT which is with the dmp. How dare they give our ex-directory number out. Just want to warn people of the new number

- Machap| 1 replyMe again,
We have alot of these credit chasers on to us recently but the worse is a bailiff company called Equita.
The first we heard of these people was on the 7th march when a letter was put through the door. Its was a removal notice and that we had to contact Mr Hammond on 07825 727835. Prior this we had no knowledge of this company. They where chasing 2 months council tax arrears. We rang this guy and he was very threating. He said he hadnt got the paperwork in front of him and to ring back.
When my husband got home we rang again and this time someone answered saying sorry you have the wrong number. This happened 7 times. We aventually rang the head office to confirm the number. Head office is a call centre who can not discuss anything with you or argree to anything. But they did tell us that the letter put through was the only recorded viist.
That was it we went to Citzen Advice and they told us that the last 2 weeks they had had over 100 people come in with the same problem. They got on to the council's secret office in the council tax department to inform them again this guy had acted against the law.
The council tax people explained that if you have a medical problem to email them and explain whats wrong to so they can decide if to call the Bailiff off (they did do this and he has not contacted us since). We also offered a payment agreement to clear the debt which they have agreed to. (again the accounts departments at the council offices can not make those decisions).
So if you here from this company Equita Limited, before you make any calls go to the citzen advice as they have a history.
Any bailiff must write to you 3 times before removing goods and there should have been at least 2 visit 1st will cost £24.50 approx and the 2nd £18.50 approx and they any other visit will be £18.50. Removal of goods costs £216.00 approx even if they dont get in then they will charge more and more.
If they do call, speak to them through a locked door. Tell them you are not letting them in. Keep all windows shut and locked. A window ajar they can prise it open and make a legal entry even if they cause damage. If you have a car do not park it in your road but 3-4 street away and park it somewhere different everynight, just in case they have seen you. Also if you have a pet that goes out like a cat they can use this as a way to get you to open the door.
Hope this helps people out there and just want tell what we learned from this experience.- Caller: Equita Limited

- SukieI had a missed call from them the other day!
If they are chasing debts for Abbey, Barclaycard, Provident (Provy),
I have no debts with these companies!
Think I've spoken to Credit Security before & hadn't got anything for them
to sort out, told them I'd sorted it out already, so could they please stop calling me!
Was told oh yes we'll do that!! Then someone else rings, tell them they're not
supposed to be calling me, & also were did they get my number from I'm
Ex-Directory, but as someone else on here with a Virgin phone line,
have got someone's old number, have had calls for people who I have no idea who they are!!- Caller: Credit Security Ltd

- Simo59Its a company called CSL - Credit Security Limited. They are debt collectors and if you owe money and talk to them they are reasonable people - No I do not work for them........
I got a call reference a credit card debt and explained that I was unemployed and in receipt of both JSA and housing/council tax benefit. They asked me to supply an income and expenditure statement for them to see what I could afford if anything. They realised I had no disposable income and put the account on hold for 30 days. This has now happened 3 times. They will wait if you speak to them - trying to be clever or avoid them will only result in grief. If like me you are in debt then also speak to the CCCS (Consumer Credit Counselling Service - www.cccs.co.uk/Free-Debt-Advice). They are a charity and can speak to your creditors on your behalf and negotiate payments for you. The key is they work on your behalf with your best interests at heart. After my business folded 18 months ago I was left with mountains of debt being in a partnership. My advice is don't hide, firstly get advice from the CCCS and secondly speak to people. They cannot take what you don't have.- Caller: CSL

- pam boodleI had a phone call as late as 19.16 but there was no reply when I phoned back and the answer phone said 'Offices are now closed' but no details of who the company is, or why I had an ad hoc call from them
- Caller: it was a cold call with no company name
- mandy59This number called several times yesterday from 8.49 till 2.45pm. The last time they left a message but it was so indistinct I couldn't understand a word, Though I do think I heard something that sounded like my name, As I am ex-directory how are they getting through and who are they !!!!! Today they have called my mobile twice not going to answer and perhaps a clear voicemail will occur.
- SukieAnswered a call from this number today, woman asked for someone, but when I asked what they were calling for the woman got really stroppy & said am I talking to Mrs so-so, when I wouldn't confirm, & again asked what they wanted with that person, they said it was personal & could only disclose it if I told them that I was that person, which I wouldn't do until I knew what they wanted, she was getting stroppier, so put phone down on her!!
Sick to death of all these random calls from various companies or text messages, which all seem to have started since I applied for a loan late last year, should be a law against this type of call, because I call it harassment, & think the law should do something to stop these people, because as other blogs that have been written on here, they are getting through to vulnerable people who will give them their details, which shouldn't be allowed!! Stop calling me, not even as if there is a pattern to the calls they're random had a call in April, then two this month!! suggest you go boil your brains, because even the hand ain't talking to you!!!
Does anyone on here know what other companies they're chasing debts for as don't have anything to do with Barclaycard/Barclays, Abbey, or Provident/Provy!!- Caller: Credit Security limited
