- AnnaIPSOS-MORI have called me everyday for over a week now, even though I've told them I don't want to take part in their survey about local facilities. Surely once you've said no 5 times you think they'd get the message!
- Caller: IPSOS MORI
- JockAnna - go to http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/phone-nuisances/ and sign the petition. After 10 pages of complaints here, thet're not going to do anything voluntarily.
- ToniCalls me 5 times a day! Always within 10 mind of 0141 problem number which other users of this site say could be Scottish power.
- Caller: Unknown
- Arun ChhotuCalled on 28th Novermber, got knows how the got my number, but doesn't seem like a trusty number from what I've read on it
- DebbySimply being hunted now, 5 missed calls on my mobile and land line constantly ringing. I'll get on the website and complain to see if that makes them stop.
- tracygot a call from ipsos murray , i am furious as we are meant to have a block on 0800 numbers and we are ex direc tory ,how did they get through ?
- Caller: tracy
- suekeep getting calls from this number, answer phone picks up no message, but they keep calling
- billCalled today at 5pm. (5th Dec 2009) I didn't answer it. I never answer any numbers I don't recognise. All these types of callers can go to Hell!
- David K| 1 replyAs no doubt this is a marketing call as above - though they hung up.
I have several numbers this week now calling my land line - it must be
Christmas!
Like all the others, once I they introduce them selves, I then keep using
their name, and become very rude ' of a sexual nature' and I mean rude!
We should all adopt the same idea, they don't normally call again in a
hurry. Good luck. - A.C.Had the same number call me several times this week. I never answer the phone randomly as the ringer is turned off. Instead I wait for them to speak on the answer machine, as that way everyone that knows me knows I will pick up the phone upon hearing their voice, and everyone else can leave me alone.
Needless to say after a few 'silent' messages I dialed 1471 out of curiosity and got the number, then Googled it and found quite a few links including this one. (Good website)
Oh, and I'm also Ex-Directory like others here, no idea how they're getting the numbers but if they want to waste their own time they are free to I suppose, though it does seem extremely ignorant of them to harass people like that. - Jnmy father has early alzhiemers and has been in a home for a weeks respite. These calls have started coming into his sheltered accommadation, over the past 2 days, 4 calls per day. How can I stop them as this is begining to worry me that they do not seem to stop having been told NO
- dudewhoiskeepinghisnamesecretthe have called 3 times today!
WARNING DO NOT AWNSER IF YOU DO THEY PESTER YOU MORE - I SinclairSame as much of the above BT reckon its a random number funny for a "proper" compnay to do such a thing dont you think?
I am sorry but the people who are claiming to be from the company do yoursleves a favour student or what ever your status and get a job with more career progression...mcds cleaning toilets who knows..
What peaves me most is when you ask them who is it for they claim it to be a breach of data protection...for the "employee" firther up the list shove your popmus head further up your bum...if you cant give who its for thats then a breach of the data protection act how can any serious company then expect to be taken as a genuine company, they are scum and deserve all the hassel and spam they give their callers - Eddie| 1 replySeveral calls over last few days when I have been out and from 1471 found they were from 0131 301 2940 which apparently is IPSOS-MORI. If you ring this number you get a recorded message inviting you to contact them by various means.
Like a lot of other people I am ex-directory so I would like to know where they get the numbers from- Caller: IPSOS-MORI
- EddieAfter posting above I read though some of the earlier posts, It is all very well employees of IPSOS-MORI saying we should just tell them we do not want to be called but how can you do that if the call is silent which it often seems to be. I also say that people go ex directory so that they do not get this type of call.
I have emailed them and demanded to be removed from their lists. We shall see if this happens!!- Caller: IPSOS-MORI
- little helpergoing ex directory is no gaurentee that you will not have nusance calls, i have been ex direc for 5 years and give my number to know one, i get calls often.
i have a debt helpsite that i have set up to help people, go to it and see what i wrote about tps, it may en lighten you to what is happening. http://dealwithdebt.homestead.com/homepage.html
look at it this way....
if you had 1million phone numbers and someone offered you 10p for each number, would you sell them??? thats 100,000.00
what if 10 companies made you the same offer in 1 year, would you say no thank you to 1million pounds???
thought not:O)
this is happening all over and has been a problem for many years, our own goverment is talking about making it a criminal offence to sell these numbers, why its not already i have no clue, but looks to me a our data protection & privacy laws dont work at all.
just read the small print and see if there is anything that says your phone company will not sell or give your details to any third partys, - SUCKER21Had this number as a missed call on my number. Without really checking it, I assumed it was my daughter calling from work, because I was expecting a call from her.
As soon as I heard the word 'research' on the answer message at the other end, I hung up, and called myself a sucker.
How much does it cost to call the number back??!!
At least I realise it was MORI now. But many months ago, I fell for the trap of calling back a missed call 0191 number, and got charged a fortune for 10 secs of call..... Double sucker (Especially since I swore I would never be sucked into doing it again.
So, How much does it cost?- Caller: Not sure? believe it was MORI
- sucker22Just did a search, and the number is an Edinburgh number, registered to Verizon UK, a market solutions/research company. http://www.verizonbusiness.com/uk/products/
Next time they ring me at 7 o/c at night, I'll tell them to get stuffed.- Caller: verizon uk ltd
- SueHave had this number calling me for the past two days and left no message. I am the same i dont answer any number i dont know but it a bit annoying when I am trying to study for my university with these blinkin fone calls.
- Steve ThomasWas told they use random digit dialling. I told him that next time they call i will just tell them to **** off and hung up.
Apparently they do not respect tps cos of the random thing and that they are not actually selling anything.- Caller: mori
