A word of advice for all the people who do not want to be contacted by Ipsos-Mori again, answer the phone and say you do not want to take part in the survey, after that ask to be put on the 'Do not re-contact' list.

Don't hang up the phone, don't say I'm baking a cake, don't say I'm waiting on a cab or just going out. Just say "no thanks" and then ask to be put on said list. Its easy, then you wont be pestered by them.

They've rung several times, glad I didn't answer this time. Why do they think people would want to speak to them?
The fact that they are speaking from a script is infuriating and the poor girl last time I answered couldn't apologise quick enough when I said I didn't have the time. When my partner was working from home for a long peroid, he said they would ring daily. Absolute nuisance.

Answered today at 1040am. Without an introduction a woman quickly asked "is this a business?", Confirmed I work from home "oh right sorry!" then mmediately hung up!

I have just complained and asked them to stop calling my 85 year old mother in law. She was very distressed to keep getting these calls. e-mail them at telephone@ipsos-mori.com and quote your telephone number, it does say on their web site that they will remove your number.

    Hi All,

Great info on your site. I took quick peek at the MORI one plus OFCOM's and the ICO's info on this. As such I sent them this snottogram by email:

    --------------------------------------------------------
    Morning,

I've been receiving numerous calls from yourselves (01313012940).

After repeated requests you are still calling me on XXXXX XXXXXX. I understand that you are circumventing The Telephone Preference Service by not trying to sell me anything (i.e. sticking to the letter of the law rather than to the spirit of it). So, after taking legal advice, please take this email as notice that I am now classing these calls as harrassment.

As such if these calls continue then I will be obliged to report your actions to the ICO and to the police service local to where the call claims to originate (which I believe is in Edinburgh).

    Regards,

    XXXXXXXXX
    --------------------------------------------------------

According to MORI's website they should take my number off within one working day. So fingers crossed this will work (and feel free to copy the above). If it doesn't then I'm petty enough to follow it up - but I reckon they'll back down first.

    :-)

These people have no respect of our privacy.
Just like the government and the dodgy ID cards.

Phoned this morning (8/9/08) but we did not get to the phone in time. Phoned back and the name Mori was mentioned - which ties in with the public opinion questions.

Just had a call from Ipsos Mori on 01313 012940.  First time they had ever called me.  I asked where they got my number from, and they explained they use random dialling.  They were very polite, asked if I would be prepared to take part in a survey on travel and holidays, and I was happy to - I am quite interested in travel and holidays.

I work in Local Government, and we use Ipsos Mori for getting the views of our local residents.  I know they are a reputable company, and was happy to take part in the survey - just as I have, on rare occasions, been happy to take part when stopped in the street.

I think there is an important difference between a legitimate market research company (forget the new "Ipsos", we've all heard of Mori polls) and the chancers who try to sell you stuff you don't want by cold calling.

I'm sure that if you ask Ipsos Mori not to call you again, they will respect that.

seems like they've started again, 7.20pm, been a month since they called everyday for a month that time even Sundays.  Goes to our ans mach everytime so costs them for the call, as we don't answer any unrecognised numbers or withelds.

Constant calls a few weeks ago from this number - never answered any of them and they stopped...until yesterday when it was just one call, but three calls today already.

They just called again, this time I answered with "do no speak, just listen, you are to remove my number from your list and you are not to call again, if you do so I will consider this harrassment and take further action" I was told there is not a list, numbers are randomly called (over and over again, it seems, how is that random!) however, she said if I wanted to stop the calls she would put me through to a supervisor.  I took the risk and held on. The supervisor - Richard - who came on the line confirmed random dialling, but they will now put my number on a list and if it comes up again it will be idenifited that I don't wish to be called - and I will not be called.
    We'll see.....

Asked them to call back in half an hour since having lunch, around that time received an automated call back voice message saying there was nobody available to speak to us at that time. Odd sort of customer service. I'm TPS registered so don't expect this kind of call.

This number rang Friday evening 8:28. No message left. I am registered with TPS and object to it not covering these calls. I am glad I wasn't in. If they call again and I do answer, I will ask them to remove me from their calling list and complain. Don't suppose it will do any good! Also glad I found it on here as I was wondering if it was some weird way of finding out if anyone was at home, especially as our milkman was followed on his round in the early hours of today.

I was in the middle of moving furniture and cleaning the bedroom so was not amused to have them call me, at least it was in the afternoon and not early morning like the poor person that got called at 4 pm!!!!!!!
