I have a call from a young lady on this number this morning. As ever i checked the name of the company and was told it was UK Energy Assessment in Glasgow. When I asked for the address she didn't know it so I expressed surprise that she didn't know where she worked! ( Perhaps they have these cold callers based at home but filtered through). The number showed on my caller display and i phoned it back to be told who i had missed a call from and that i could get my details removed by leaving them on a recorded message. The message box was full so i couldn't do that. This company is yet another breaking the law by cold calling people on the TPS. When i mentioned the TPS she just hung up.

Complaint now logged with TPS. I would recommend and encourage everyone on this system to do the same. It is unlawful to call if you are registered and any reputable company wouldn't do that.

I missed a call from this number earlier today but got it by dialling 1471. I too am in the Telephone Preference Service so should not have had the call. Unfortunately not enough people complain. I complain every time now - if a call is outside of the TPS remit you can complain to the Information Commissioners Office or OFCOM. There is an excellent, clear guide on the OFCOM website as to which organisation covers each type of call. I have also complained to my MP as I consider it a complete invasion of my privacy to be constantly getting calls that I don't want on my private home phone number. All I can repeat to everyone is COMPLAIN EVERY TIME and perhaps something will be done.

This is a company calling themselves the UK Energy Assessment Team.  They try to frighten people by saying gas & electricity will soon be rationed so you need solar panels to produce your own electricity.  Funnily enough they can help out with solar panels :-/

Received a silent call from 0141 280 0563 a few minutes ago.  Surprisingly, we got the number by dialling 1471.  Suspect that it's a spoof number, but no evidence one way or the other.

This number phoned me three times last week, twice yesterday and once today, I don't recognise the number so did not answer the call.  No message left.

This starting to become a nuisance caller now and it is annoying me.

Yet another call from 0141 280 0563.  This time it was cold call from the so-called "UK Energy Assessment Team" trying to make me "aware" of government incentives for solar energy.

I suspect this is the same shyster company that used to claim that they were carrying out energy audits on behalf of the Scottish Government.  Liars.

Good going - one cold call and two silent calls (one mentioned above) in a handful of days.

Just got 4 calls from this number within an hour!

Yet another 'goverment agency' ringing about energy saving grants. This time it's solar panels they're selling. I told them my property is listed and my number is TPS registered and not to waste my time again. Somehow, I doubt that will be the last I hear of them though....

I have a TrueCall and it has totally stopped the cold calls.  I also bought the call recrding facility and this has also proved usful when dealing with businesses who do not get it right.

If you don't fancy paying the 100 pounds for a TrueCall, try this.

These calls centres have bought your data (name and phone number) from somewhere and you want to find out who sold it.  This may have been illegal use of data. they then make the call and, if you agree, sell the details on to a company who actually do the work,  

So you agree to the survey. You then make an appointment for someone to do the survey.  When they arrive, get a business card and then tell them that you are reporting them to the Information Commissioners Office for offences under the Data Protection Act, and that you want to know where they obtained your details. This points you to the next link up the chain.

Write to that company, demanding that they provide all the information they hold on you as a Data Subject Access Request, including where they obtained the information.  They can charge you a fee up to £10, but it costs them far more to deal with it.

If they fail to comply complain to the ICO. There will be a delay as they are very busy, but he ICO will force them to reveal the information.  

Keep doing the for each link in the chain.  i had hours of fun with this

Just had a silent call from this number - 0141 280 0563.  I Googled it and found a note on another site giving me another number to call if this happens and telling us it belongs to 1Solar Energy.  Dial them on 08458350606 and you will be asked if you are a member of Telephone Preference Service. They have assured me that as I am on TPS, they will not ring again. We'll see, and if they do then I intend to take strong action.
