Who is this number

who is this ringing me? when I come home and dial 1471 the number is on my phone, when this number rings when I'm at home they hang up when I answer it    nuuisance!!!

Just got a call from this number...went to  dialling tone when I picked up the phone.    Very annoying, particularly as, by coincidence, we have friends in Glasgow who have just moved, and were waiting to hear from them with their new number!

Had nine silent calls from this number so far today. Difficult to believe that the mix up mentioned in the early posts- from last August- is still the cause. Recently registered with the TPS, which seems to have cut the amount of live calls ( plus you get the satisfaction of telling them that they've committed an offence by calling you.) Doesn't seem to stop these silent calls though.

Sunday, 27th January, 1:24pm, call from so-called "UK Energy Assessment" trying to interest us in solar panels.  Including a silent call, that makes the fourth from them this month

Whoever called from this number put the phone down as soon as I answered. Nuisence call (?) OR the caller checking if anyone is at home or not.

I phoned 1solarenergy and said that I had just got a call from thier call center, and she appologised and said she would take my number off the calling list.

I will be taking it further becuase I am on TPS and should not have been called in the first place.

Received a call from this number today. A strong "Glaswegian" female voice wanting to know my name etc. When I got stroppy and demanded to know who she was and why she was calling me she became rude and irritated and created a loud noise into the phone before hanging up.

Nuisance call just now - dropped immediately without saying anything, but I thought I heard the handset clattering, so it sounded more like a person than a machine.

asked if it was me and I asked who was calling and they hung up.

phone rang at 1113am got to phone as quickly as possible and the no one there no message .i am 74 years old and have a problem with my joints wish someome could get the caller by there short and curlys and screw them in a vice tey are nothing but a bl!!!!! nuisance and want stopping. whiilst typing this another one 001346598877

And again, today, at 1316.  Yet another call from the so-called UK Energy Assessment Company (they usually call themselves "team").  I once again asked to have our number removed from their list.  This one claimed claimed be owned by a company called Solar One.

Previous request for action by TPS simply resulted in an incomprehensible hand-wringing email.

Called at 16.58 today. Quite a pleasant female who said that "we are calling all people in your area to see if they qualify for a government grant ...." at this point I politely said "no thank you" and terminated this call.

I think it is Paisley or E.Kilbride, as the Glasgow prefix is 0141.   I had three or four calls per week from
someone using a Glasgow call centre, which stopped over the Xmas holiday.   When they started again
it was from a different, but still, a call centre.   One gent said he keeps them on as long as he can, with
a record of half an hour.     However, it depends how they are paid.  If they have a premium for long calls,
he has certainly done them a favour.     I am reaching the point of not answering any calls, and am thinking
of giving up my land line.    However, I feel they have won if the get me to do that,  so although in advancing
years, I think I will just thole them to see if regs are brought in which will put a stop to this nonsense. I also
wonder how long it will go on.  I think I am in my third year.    Casey.
