To all Readers the need for regulation for estate administration and will writers – full
    article
In the last few months, the press have reported a number of cases of theft of estate assets by
executors. A Court in Northampton heard that a former borough councillor stole £81,000 from an
estate to which he was executor so that he could take his wife on a luxury cruise and repay his
bookmaker the £25,000 he’d lost on the horses. Lincoln Crown Court is currently hearing a case
where it is alleged that cash, intended to be distributed to charities and relatives and friends of the
deceased, was pocketed as a result of the alleged greed and criminal activity of the professional
executors, an accountant and an ex-solicitor.

To all Readers, we have it on good authority that Minster Legal Associates LLP in York are connected to companies spawned from Minster Legal Services.

When a Consultant, Thomas Frith, was asked if their company was connected to Minster Legal Services (UK) Ltd? He replied "No, but some of Minster Legal Services' telephone operatives now work in our Doncaster Branch."

We can confirm that there is no Minster Legal Associates LLP in Doncaster and that ex Minster Legal Services' employees have either stayed with National Legal Assistance in Gainsborough, gone to Express Law in Doncaster or gone to other firms which are not related to Will Writing.

To all Readers, another news article means another newspaper is aware of these companies activities. This time it's in the Gainsborough Standard:

    Wills and documents recovered

Local news Published on Sunday 7 August 2011 11:30

Elderly and vulnerable Gainsborough residents who had dealings with Minster Legal Services and didn’t receive their will documents are being asked to come forward.

Minster Legal Services, who were not members of the Society of Will Writers, ceased trading in March when their sole director David Hodgson died unexpectedly.

Representatives from Minster Legal Services left their files on the street outside a will writing company in Doncaster who contacted the Society of Will Writers as they did not know what to do.

The Society arranged to collect the files for safe keeping, and has written to all former Minster clients contained in the files to inform them where their files are and how the Society of Will Writers can help them with full contact details.

They have also recovered hundreds of original documents which many Minster clients believed they paid Minster Legal Services to safely store on their behalf.

A spokesman from the Society of Will Writers said: “What is of greater concern to us is that many of Minster’s clients, having paid several thousand of pounds in many cases, believe they have a trust or a valid will which in many cases they do not.”

“The Society would ask anyone who had dealings with Minster Legal Services and have not had their completed documents to contact the Society as soon as possible.”

If you have had a will, Lasting Power of Attorney or a trust and would like it checked, contact the Society free on 0800 838270 or email custody@willwriters.com or visit their website at www.willwriters.com

I received a text to read this forum and have niether the time or the interest for all of this and do not even feel that it actually warrants a reply but I am doing so for those genuine victims out there!  Please be clear that I am not the person who either set up or runs this forum.  I am now aware who this person is and is in close vicinity to the companies discussed above.

I am sorry for those genuine people who have had the bad experience and lost out not only on their hard earned cash but sadly also their faith in legal services.

The reason why I left the above named compnay was because I was completely dissatisfied and disgusted with the manner in which business was being and is still being conducted.  I have never spoken to any one about my private life so am surprised about comments being made here! If a dog barks, do we stop and bark with it?!No and that is why this is my first and final comment on here therefore, any further comments will be ignored not becuase they are true but beacuse I simply do not have the time to waste on here whilst keeping clients waiting in reception, as I am  doing now

If  employees of Minster/National Legal Services want to write rubbish about me then please carry on.  It is clear what you spend your time doing besides drinking and looting the elderly! At least the 'rioters' in the current news have an excuse..what's yours?

My professional reputation and peace of mind is worth much much more than being associated with the companies and the people named above.

Any clients who have followed me have done so because they are happier working with me because of the good honest service I provide.

My advice to any clients who read this forum would be to please either contact a solicitor or a member of STEP if you are looking for private client services.

The Legal Services Commission have already started to investigate the situation on non qualified Will Writers and it will not be long now before our law changes.

I will not advertise my services on here but those who have wanted to contact me and benefit from  my products and services, have done so successfully.

    Regards
    Nisha Verma

    Hello Nisha,
The law needs changing but not for prosecution on the grounds of fraud and deception to obtain a pecuniary advantage.
I would just do as you say and watch the cookie crumble.

Nisha nisha nisha. People have not followed you because they like you, trust you or know your work is good. They have been approached by you on behalf of your solicitor husband after you copied all the details from files at Minster and wrote to all offering to complete their work for a price!

Talk about preying on the elderly and vulnerable.

You went to Minster in Gainsborough (a long way to travel from your home in Nottingham) because you couldn't get a job in your own area (being thrown out of the Society of Will Writers probably didn't help) and now the only way you have to make money is to chase people who have already been ripped off by Gerald Barton and Minster Legal Services.

Kw or not - who cares - you both deserve what's coming

Tut tut nisha you naughty girl.

You also state "The Legal Services Commission have already started to investigate the situation on non qualified Will Writers and it will not be long now before our law changes" this can not come soon enough.

My Mother had a meeting with National Legal Assistance yesterday.  Later she asked myself and my brother to check it out and see if we agreed to what they were proposing if she put her house and assets in Trust.  Firstly I became aware of the cheap paper the letter was pringted on aldo that the company had no logo or other information other than the address.  Ok this doesn't prove they're not above board but it did prompt me to do some digging.  I found a news paper article about a couple that had paid the fee of £1995 and later changed their minds (as they were told they could do, within 7 days) and get a full refund.  They are still waiting for their money.  Then I find that the same address used to belong to a company called Minster Legal Services??? that also has a very dodgey reputation. Please can somebody confirm whether or not this is a reputable company.

    Thank you in advance.

'Kat' Thankyou for your comments. We are sorry to say that Legal Assistance Ltd T/A National Legal Assistance do indeed operate from the same building and with the same staff as Minster Legal Services.

If you Google Gerald Malcolm Barton (the owner of both companies) you will see why your Mother would be better off going to a reputable Solicitor.

We hope that she did not part with any money yesterday, however, if she did it would be advisable to write them a letter (and/or email) cancelling and asking for a full refund.

    Thankyou for reading.
