I hope you are correct although the my suspicions were raised by their actions and subsequently appear confirmed by what I have read here, ignoring the name calling episodes. The things that worried me were cold calling a TPS registered number, giving the impression they were from social services, aggressive selling to a vulnerable person, demanding payment up front and the poor quality of work done so far.

I concede that it may be in some part down to the bloke that visited rather than the company as a whole but he acted as their representative so they have some responsibility.

I would be more optimistic if they would answer their phone...

I notice that Minster Law (reputable law firm in York and on the Law Society website) have commented about you on the other MInster/Barton page you are always trolling and they have had customers calling them a scam thanks to you.

Is that why your on here? Hiding away and trying to stir up new lies and scandal about another firm without any proof or reason the way you did to us.

Haven't you caused enough trouble for decent hardworking people in this industry already???

your mother has been well and truley done over im sorry to say!! you will not get anywhere trying to ring them back as they are no longer trading due to RIPPING people off!!!!  They have been on tv all over the papers and the main guy who has done this is called GERRY BARTON  but he done a runner like mormal, if u go to the offices at doncaster you can speak to andrew young or martin smith as thet used to run and work with gerry barton in gainsborough at minster legal. What thet doin now in dony is just the same and they gonna be stopped very very soon! good luck

Get down to the office and DEMAND a refund!

I spoke to martin smith and told him i wuld be back every day until we gt the refund,he arrogantly replied hat i was wasting my time.
I told him i had plenty of time to waste and if the refund was not credited back to my parents within 7 days then i would b conacting the police, trading standards and rogue traders.

The refund was credited back o my parents account within 7 days.

The people who ran the office at Minster "Legal",Andrew Young and Martin Smith, now run Express Law.We had the same problem at Minster,no one would answer the phone so we eventually had to go there as nothing was being done.I suggest that you do the same.If you feel that you are likely to lose your temper take someone else with you.
Express Law are working under the "umbrella" of Society of Will Writers so contact Brian McMillan of SWW and I would also suggest that you contact your MP,Trading Standards and the Police.

yes i agree with all you said bout havin to go to the office, cos otherwise everytime u ring you will be told that the person you need to speak to is out or in "meeting"!! which is a load of poo. They will never ring you back as andrew young and martin smith are 2 of the biggest con men going!!! get down to the office with the police and get what is owed to you     good luck!

So Gerry Barton has resurfaced again. I was ripped off together with over 2000 others by his National Legal Services who were based in York and Sheffield and were closed in 2007 by the DTI.  Barton was banned from being a director for 11 years. Martin Smith and Jonty Trotter worked for Barton and many of the people who worked for Barton set up legal services and will writting businesses. Dovedon who I believe are now called Collective Legal Solutions are based in the same Sheffield building and the directors worked for Barton.

His Daughter Niki married a man called William Green and they were living in the Lincoln area. I wonder if she knows where Gerry is. I tracked Gerry down to Alperley Bridge near Bradford about 3 years ago but I didn't manage to speak to him.  He may have spent a short period in prison for contempt of court whilst NLS was being wound up. Gerry once lived at Glentham near Market Raisen and  seems to have strong connections with Lincolnshire. I'm sure he will turn up again when things quieten down.

There was a network of ex-NLS franchisees who were monitoring the Companies set up by Barton's lot and I seem to remember that Martin Smith and Jonty Trotter set up a business in York which the DTI closed down but hey keep resurfacing under a different names.

I'm off work ill at the moment and did what I do every few months typed Gerald Malcom Barton in to Goggle and came across this site. As I said in one of my previous posts  I was an NLS franchise holder  and have a healthy interest in Barton and the activities of the people who worked with and for him.

I spent a good deal of time yesterday reading all the pages and could smile at the fact that Barton is up to his con man tricks again. NLS took at least £14 million in franchise fees. There were people who were losing their homes because of him. I was lucky I was able keep mine,  just,  but there was nearly a divorce at my house.

The people who work for him are using the same tactics they used against the web sites set up by ex-NLS agents. The style which they write is consistant with what we had posted on our sites.

Trotter and a number of other people who worked with or for Barton set up will writting Companies. From what I have read on here some of them are using the same business plan and telling the same old lies.

Bartons daughter, Niki worked for him at York and she told me at my interview that NLS owned a golf course at Bridlington. Gerry wasn't listed as a shareholder but Niki was listed as one of the two share holders. She claimed to be a successful agent but was a recruiter like Jonty Trotter.

I was just about to take them to Court when the DTI closed them down. I had asked them for my money back and was given the run around by Chris Dingley who was allegedly a business development manager.. If  you read this Chris don't bother with threats of legal action I kept all the letters and e mails and would love to see you in court.

I did manage to save at least 3 people £7k each who were thinking about joining NLS.

I have been searching for a picture of Gerry for sometime and I was pleased to find a link to a picture of the man. I know now who to ask where the  £7000 he took from me went.

There are some very angry ex-NLS agents out here who you scammed and we are not happy to find you are up to your old tricks again.

We are not happy with some of the vailed threats which have been made against the people who have exposed you for what you are. This had better stop, just that.
