I have had about 7 or 8 calls from this rabble - most of them are silent and sometimes when I answer they just hang up - I have lived here for 35 years and do not owe a penny to anyone - their phones want barred or cut off !!

They're back again - they stayed on the line for a minute of 'the silent treatment' before hanging up this time

And they're back again today - even though I never said a word, they asked if "my neighbour" still lived next door? when they got no response they hung up. So at least I know who it is they're stalking now

They have rung me at least 6 times over a 2 week period enquiring about a neighbour, each time I have told them I don,t know who is at the address.

I have had a couple of calls from this number in the last 10/ 14 days, and felt it was extremely inappropriate to try and contact someone in this way. Having entered the number into google and ended up here it is clear that this is a common problem, and as a result I have today spoken with the Office of Fair Trading ( 08454 04 05 06 ) and spoke with a very helpful guy who took the details and gave me a reference number and another contact number for themselves.
I asked Westcot how they got my number as I am not in the phone book and registered with the Telephone Preference Service and he said that he got my number from the BT directory - he did not.
Because Westcot gave me the name and address of an individual that apparently lives close to me he recommended that I contact the Information Commissioner as it must surely count as a breach of the Data Protection Act.
I have also spoken with another very helpful person in that organisation who recommended that I get on to their website www. www.ico.gov.uk, go to ' complaints' and then 'data protection' and there is an online complaints form that can be completed online and e mailed to the ico as an attachment.
Westcot site says they are an ethical company - I think they are anything but and the more people that complain about them the better.

Just got a call from above number asking about one of my neighbours. They gave neighbours name and house number and asked if such neighbour still lives there!!!! Told him I haven't a clue. When i asked caller for their name they said Harry Davies....I dont know if that is real name, probably not. He never said where is he calling from.....How do they get hold of my number?

Hi I had this number call me this afternoon when I got in from work, said hello a couple of times before they answered and they asked about the neighbour a few doors up and if they still lived there and they even new there  name. And said o must keep missing her and that was it and hung up a bit od if you ask me and also how did they even get my number they shouldn't even be calling me I have the telephone preference service thinks it's wrong they better not call again.

Have had 5 phone calls from this number asking about my next door neighbour , so I called the number back outside normal working hours and got a recorded message claiming to be West Park Credit Services. The next day they called me again asking about my son who now lives overseas. He has never lived at this address and yet they asked if he was in ? I said he has never lived here and she said that they also had an address for him in Portsmouth , where he used to live .When I asked who they were a lady with a strong Glasgow accent said she was calling from 2F Location Services . Who are these people ?

Complain to OFT, a snippet from the Wescot website reads - "We have a specialist legal team available to offer assistance to our clients on compliance matters. This is led by Sara de Tute, our Legal and Compliance Director, who is also President of the Credit Services Association, with responsibility for compliance within the industry". So complaining to CSA will be useless.

they phones me pretending to be a company i never heard of , saying they were a locations agent for a client.   i know from past experience that if they confirm a number , they will call every hour or even twice an hour till you change your number ,

this is classic harassment ,

best advice is identify whose calling and if they dont say police or a government agency , say you have no idea who they are calling about and never confirm who you are to strangers.

Six calls in a week and so rang them up and asked them to stop ringing me. They confirmed that this was a mistake on their part and that I wouldn't receive any further calls.

Yes. Mrs.Brazier's murderers (Wescot) rang me asking for info about my neighbour who lives two doors away. I told the murdering scumbags nothing. Why is it that, after the murder of Mrs. Brazier a good few years ago, nothing has been done about this shower of sh*t and their ilk?

Just had a call from this number claiming he was looking for an Alex Urquhart at my neighbours. I said no suh person lived there, then got to wondering how he got my number without knowing my name. I returned the call and found it was from Westcot. Will be looking to report this scam to local Staysafe initiative and nationally.

I followed Richards advice above. I think that Westcot get around the regulations by not trying to sell you anything on the first call, so ICO can't do much. But i filled in the complaint form anyway and would agree that as many asq possible should do hte same.
Also when I looked at the PTC site, I have to register a complaint and then they send my details to Westcot to ask them to stop calling me. As I have no intention of encouraging Westcot's behaviour, I will not be doing that.
I HATE companies that prey on vulnerable people and will ensure that this company's behaviour is made know in my region.

had a phone call today from the following number 01482 483251 asking me about a neighbour next door. He started by asking me if his 1st name was ?? and if i he still lived ??. I thought this was a little funny so i just said i dont speak with them and keep my self 2 myself, he then said dont worry i will ring another neighbour
before i could ask who he was he put the phone down

These people have called at least  two of our neighbours asking if my family live on their street. I think the FSA should investigate their activities. When a neighbour gave me the number that they had used I called them. All you get is an answer phone saying it is Wescott &  if they need us they will call again. No option to speak to anyone and no option to leave a message.

Just had 2 calls in 3 days from this crowd, so beware they are on the prowl again !

Just had 2 calls from 01482 483251, I was busy so hadn't answered either call and no message was left.  Will be wary of them if they do phone back after reading the previous posts.
