Said they weren;t debit collection, just an address checking company (think he said f2 but can't be sure).  Usual questions, they obviously are to do with debit collection. Couldn't resist it when they asked if I lived at near number xxx, I told they they must know as they'd run me, having got number out of phone book, and hence they'd know my address.  As usual said I didn't know the person.

Another number for my banned list (phone will be full soon!)

Just received a call from this number, asking if I know my neighbour two doors away, Mr (some name I didn't recognise).  I said I didn't, and the caller said, "Thank you for your time," and put the phone down.

Received yet another call from this company, asking if we knew the neighbours two doors away, despite us already telling us that we don't.

When you get a strange phone call....

Don't panic, pick up a pen and paper or in my case activate the recorder. It might be just another sales call. It Might be a debt collecting agency. It might be a company saying something new like, " 2f location verification service"

    Begin with something to like.

    "Oh are you Harry's friend?"
They'll say no and might offer more info
"You sound just like him, is this a windup?"
    You might get more info
"Ok so exactly who did you say you were?"
    They should repeat there name"
    "and what company is that"
They probably want to ask you who you are with "Are you Joe Bloggs"
“Just a minute, you called me so what company are you from.”
they'll mumble something like "2F Locations"
"Hey (laugh) this is a windup, f2 location service (Westcot scam & intimidation division) that’s a crazy name, you for real?”
    They'll sound bemused
then say “ok and what address is that,” and make sure you get the full address
Keep asking until you have their name, their company, their address and post code.

The caller will want you to confirm that you are Joe Bloggs, I never give them that satisfaction.

Yeh, but first what's your supervisors name? (you can have some fun now, you have everything you need but don't answer anything they ask, enjoy the game of answering everything with another question. "Is this A subsidiary? Are you phoning from the uk or are you in Asia? etc. Sometimes they want to put you throu "SECURITY", SO YOU SAY LOOK MATE YOU PHONED ME SO WE'LL NEED TO COMPLETE MY SECURITY FIRST OK) of course you never get to you going through theirs.

At this point I know whether they are somebody I want to deal with or not so my response is. Well as you call me unsolicited, I would expect you would know who you were calling and as your consuming my time I have to inform you that I will be billing your company at a rate of £7.50 per minute for the duration of this call. If you are agreeable to that then we can continue otherwise I'm afraid we have to terminate it.

    They usually hang up.

The reason for getting the details.

I follow up with a letter stating my terms of business and my costs for any and all events from phone calls to letters to house visits. Tip keep them within reason, and if  they call again the meter is running immediately. If you do this properly you can actually get money out of these calls. Most companies can and will pay up to £300.00 quite easily rather than go to court. It's particularly good with sales calls, especially if your on the TPS register www.tpsonline.org.uk/

Just had a little call from Westcot 2f in Hull but the minion hung up before we got to meat. ;7)

It seems like they are debt collection people and, although I agree they should be a bit better with the telephone etiquette, they are just trying to contact debtors by finding a telephone number in the same street (probably just from the telephone directory) and asking for info.
Also debts are sold on to them and that's why they are quite brutal- see

called by someone asking for a neiighbour. Said the neighbour had long gone and no idea where. Not impressed by this. And resent it strongly.  Not my fault that this neighbour did not pay up.

A man with the name of Sam called me saying he is from 2S location services and is calling on behalf of another company as I have not replied to them. This man was trying to say he wants to trace if I in person the  other company was trying to contact me without success. H was asking me to go through a few security questions but, I refused asking what is about. He then realised he can not gain anything from as he was expecting eventually had to stop his chat and hanged up.When I phoned the number, there was a recording message that it is the westcot who was trying to contact me.

My elderly mum has been receiving calls for last 3 years. I phoned them on 0845 824 1155 and requested that no further contact be made as the person they were seeking did not live at that address. They said they would remove phone number from data base. Lets see what happens.

Although they will not admit it most people called by this number have some debt or other
    I know I do but
I also know that like me most others are the victim of circumstanses beyond their control
Debt collectors are by law not allowed to publicly humiliate anybody
so they should not ask your neighbours about you
what they can do is trick you into confirming who you are or where you live
    by asking about your neighbours
if your reading this then you have most likely already had a call
if they call back just tell them that harrassing you will not solve the problem
and that for each time they call you will charge an admin fee of £25
I also recommend you go to ebay and buy an inline call blocker

this company has an automated service - press 1 if this person is 2 if this person isn't here.

No matter what option you select they keep calling back.

I've now called the, back and told them the person they're looking for doesn't live here and never to call me again.

Their answer: unfortunately you might get a few more calls, to which I've said, if you call me one more time, I'll sue you.

Debt collector wasters !! These people have no power whatsoever and are basically a joke...they try to worry/stress people into paying as that's all they can do. My advice is to ignore or block their number as I have done now.
