Depends on a lot of things to be honest...initially it was deemed to be  " deferred"...when Mr D got involved all the authorities were involved already.
I think the person who was running that particular show knew exactly what the score was.

Deferred? The rent was paid or it was not. So the owner of Imperial was also the accountant and when he found the rent had been "deferred", why did he not alert the authorities to what Hadley and his cronies were up to?

The word deferred was used when initial questions were asked...the accountant was never an owner. As mentioned, authorities involved when accountant came in to attempt to unravel and has assisted the authorities ever since

Could you and "Well" get your story straight? "Well" seems to know about this, unlike you. He named the person that ran the accounts and according to Companies' House this is the same as the shareholder of Imperial. I just wanted to know why the authorities were not alerted by the owner and the accountant at the time the rent was "deferred". Why not refer to it as theft, as that is what it is? Surely, it would have helped bring this to a head a year early.

The authorities started to investigate this scheme in early 2014 possibly late 2013  and very quickly new everything that had happened. Paul t is certainly well versed on this matter ,more than most .Look back on this site to say october 2014 and you will see all the names mentioned several times a day , none of these names are new i can assure you.

The investors were told that the rent had been deferred when they started asking questions, its as simple as that.  The theft was realised as the issue dragged on and the actual story came to light.

You are so correct ,that is why i keep saying that every member should bombard the official receivers office in manchester. In my opinion contacting store first is a waste of time  and effort.

Not wishing to sound arrogant...having been involved in this for 2 years...having been in court rooms when Imperial and Transeuro were wound up. .having been involved in scheme meetings with HMRC,Metis Law and the Insolvency service..and in constant contact with the media as things move forward, I think I am  rather accurate

Well and Paul T seem to have a different opinion as to who was doing the management accounts. I just highlighted this issue and asked why the authorities were not contacted earlier, that is all.
It seems to me that it was investor pressure that caused the authorities to act, not an altruistic act by the organisers of the scheme.
