Seem a little mixed up.  Store first is a Ponzi scheme to the investor not to the renter. You rent a pod and you pay your rent, your rent is then to be paid to the investor but it isn't.
As an investor you are promised 8%return on your investment, how can you get a return on a product that hasn't been rented out yet?

Because if that where true I would simply take them to court ie I have a contract / lease whatever. That is a legally binding contract. If they do not do what it says in there I take them to court and win, simple. If as I understand it there are a group of people who where represented by a dodgy pension administrator who did not pass on what was due to them then the issue to with them, simple. I believe  OR have been appointed and so they will no doubt get to the bottom of it. That does not mean the issue is with Storefirst. I may of course be wrong but my "gut feel" seeing Storefirst in operation is that no one would commit / continue to commit that much money to making it run day to day if it where a scam, I'm just trying to show you how this thread looks to an outsider.

Talking to a solicitor who is looking into financial fraud. He tells me that the time is nearly up for the self storage company as it is now widely known that it is a ponzi and the doors will soon be closed. He is like a coiled spring waiting....

Wow, where do I start. mmmmmm you know what I've spent 20 years learning how to run and grow a business, you obviously have not. Lets just say its not uncommon for companies to run at a loss initially. Your statement is simply no indication of either a ponzi scheme or a fraud. Once again assumptions to suit your version of the facts.

Listen guys, good luck, get real, get some proper advice and stay healthy, its been fun but I have a business to run but am comfortable in my use of storefirst which was the purpose of my work this afternoon.

When has Mike Talbot been a pension administrator, he's the one TW has pointed the finger at.

Think the growing number of complaints to action fraud and trading standards together with the BBC coverage will finally expose this as a Ponzi Scheme. Dylan Harvey all over again should have banned him then.

Wow you guys are keen to maintain a stance aren't you. I missed this post so will give the courtesy of a reply before I leave. Again I hope it gives you a different perspective....

My journey to self storage started last year. I visited a couple of locations to get quotes. It was a frustrating experience to say the least , very cloak and dagger, definately got the feeling there was no set prices and I would simply get charged what they could get away with. At that stage I had never heard of storefirst. What brought them to my attention was actually a storage company assuming I had been to them and trying to put me off them. Now when someone does that I ask why, why are you so scared of them. So I found out who they where and called in to compare. Wow what a breath of fresh air they where. honest about their prices, no room for negotiation but you know where you stood with them. Their facilities where better than any of the others by a mile. When I told them about the other stores trying to put me off them they laughed and said they know. Their view is simply that all other storage companies hate them because they have the best product at the best prices. I showed them an article one of the stores gave me written by the SSA. They told me they used to be members but got thrown out when they published all of their prices online. The SSA does not like that and sure enough at the time they where the only ones who did that.
I've stored with them now for over 6 months and they do exactly what they say on tin. Absolutely no complaints for me. Despite this I still shop around. I now note with interest that others are now publishing prices on the internet. Seems to me Storefirst have changed the market for the better.
I've been in business for a long time, I can spot market maturity, cash cows, cycles and to me self storage in the UK was a cash cow charging customers as much as they could. Markets mature and that changes, seems to me Storefirst have made that happen. Of course other storage companies do not like that.
I am very thorough. I was already aware of the article, of the SSA. I've had first hand experience of the SSA's tactics to try and stop Storefirst from changing the market to protect its members interests. Research the SSA and you'll find its actually run by two companies using a puppet head. Those two companies are the ones I visited first who I believe are the two biggest in the market in the UK ie have the most to lose from Storefirsts success / growth.
I love this type of thing, would make a perfect market growth / strategy case study for an MBA ;-)

At the risk of repeating myself I see no evidence of a Ponzi scheme, quite the opposite in fact.

A Ponzi scheme is easy to prove once its been identified. The fact the authorities have not stopped the company from trading already says to me its not.

Have you ever actually been to one of the storage centres ?

Of you can go around in circles chasing your tail. At the end of the day time will tell. I may have to move storage companies but I'm comfortable enough that won't happen but there are few certainties in life.

Don't know what you are talking about.  Store first may be a good product for the renter but for the investor it was a con. You lost some of your money on the apartments we have lost our pensions there has been no return at all.
If Toby Whittaker has nothing to hide why did he sneak out of his offices when R4 paid him a visit? A good business man who has done no wrong and has a legit product will not hide.
Why are store first employees going to R4?
Forget 12 months I don't even see 6 months for store first and maybe you should google Toby Whittaker and do an hours reading there?

Is turning into a one man crusade singing the virtues of Storefirst. Quentin Wilson saw through it and has publicly disassociated himself from the company and other media are warning of this scam. Bet Talbot is chuffed TW reported him for accessing company property to cover his tracks.

Robbed? Cheated? Fleeced? Different perspective of the same word.

When you do your MBA, try and find  investors that sold their investments in SF and got their money back. That should keep you occupied for a long time.

You have simply stumbled across this blog ? Find  that very hard to believe. If you have then I would suggest you start again with a blank piece of paper and assume nothing and do your research
