Called today

I CAN CONFIRM - This is a legitimate call from Carphone Warehouse.

They outsource their outbound call centre to South Africa. The number they are calling you from them shows as this number.


I am a recent ex employee in one of Carphone Warehouse's call centres.

they called me today saying they are calling from CW. they are not because they don't have any of my details and CW does because my contract is with them. just tell them where to go

The reason why they will say they are from carphone warehouse or from orange is that if you are an orange customer, they are calling on behalf of orange to try and get you to stay with them if your contract is up for renewal.

I had a call today from the third different number tracing back to carphone warehouse in the last week and I finally gave in and answered. They didn't ask for my account details or payment details, or even my date of birth (Although, I have resigned myself to the fact that they probably have all this information in front of them), they wanted me to stay with orange and offered me a new phone and a reduced tariff for the same contract.

I have had a couple of calls from this number over the past few days. I missed the call each time and now that I have seen this message board I'm glad I did. I think I will ignore all their calls from now on.

its really annoying they call up at all varying times. and its really annoying cos as soon as you pick up they put it down.

This number rang me today 06/04/10 and when i answered it they hung up after I said Hello. After about 5 minutes they rang back again and i answered it again. He said he was calling from Carphone Warehouse on behalf of Orange. he wanted to give me an upgrade- which I am due shortly. I explained that I did not want the upgrade he was offering which was more expensive than my current deal he continued to try and sell me a Nokia phone at which point I said to him that I was waiting for the New Iphone release in July/Aug- he then hung up on me!- How rude!!

Carphone Warehouse the dogshit of the mobile phone business they wont leave me alone keep phoning hanging up they are scum of the earth......

didnt answer as i did not recognise the number. have tried to call before, but am glad i have never answered.

ATTENTION- this number is from a SCAM, they are niether the carphone warehouse or orange!!!!!!!!!!

thay are from the carphone wherehouse and that are telling you that your contract is expered

THIS NUMBER IS THE CARPHONE WAREHOUSE CALLING TO GET YOU TO RENEW YOUR CONTRACT  WITH THEM IF IT IS DUE TO EXPIRE SOON!

I also recieved a number of calls from this number (contract due in the next couple of months) but it was accompanied by a text message from 'carphone' (all texts I have ever recieved from carphone have listed as 'carphone warehouse'). The biggest giveaway about the text was that they spelt my name incorrectly in the message! Definitely dodgy, I will be avoiding this number like the plague!

had 4 calls this week they either hang up when you answer or if they speak to you cant understand wot they say. very asian / english. fed up of it.

Sales call

Phoned me from this number at least 10 times this week while at work, I just let it ring out. Last night I had a call and cut it off, they left a message but it sounded like they were in a noisy bar and the message was garbled in a foriegn accent. Yes I am due for an upgrade but won't be using CPW again

And they called again while I was typing my original message.
