Called twice on the 28th Feb 2011

I got phone calls from this number as well as 020 8617 5910, both claiming Carphone Warehouse - O2. Thanks to these comments, I just picked up and told them I am not interesting. Just really, really annoying...

Numerous calls from this number, as well as the following numbers, which I believe are all Carphone Warehouse (or 02?? don't know as yet as not answered any of them as they looked suspect):
01925 555601 and 02086175910
My contract for 02 is up for renewal, so this may be the reason!

have i been conned by passing info NO money left my account as yet!!!

I've been getting these calls as well, after the first time I was told t was O2 and then carphone warehouse. At the time of getting my new phone I asked for no marketing calls at all had to go back into the shop and get them to adjust it only to still keep getting calls. So I've rung them up to make an official complaint. Was told that 1 box hadn't been ticked so that why I was receiving calls, would take a week to take effect and after that i shouldn't receive any more calls ?!! Hmmmm will wait and see. Since i was told that last week as well

I've also had several missed calls from this number this week.  Recently changed contract to Orange via Carphone Warehouse.. . . . . will def be ignoring calls form this number!

I too have been receiving calls from these numbers. Having the same issues. THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS AS MUCH AS IT IS AN ORGANISED CRIME. Let me explain:

There are people working in the carphonewarehouse that have all the customers contact details and information except a few VITAL details that they need if they are to use your credit card unlawfully. These corrupt people working in these head offices of these businesses pass what information they can to criminal groups that open landlines numbers (to create a genuine looking business call) and call you trying to complete this missing pieces. They will take oppertunities like disconnections to use as an oppertunity to WOOW you with good offers to only get you to tell them what they need to know. After that they have access to your money almost as much as you do. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL !!!

The three most common ways they have done this is:
*When you get a new contract and handset - they will call you a day after asking if you would like to get a discounted insurance price for your handset. It is only a payment of £30 for a "2 year any damage cover" that you will never be able to claim. They would ask for direct payment there and then on the phone.
**When your contract is due for renewal - they will call you to ask about account changes and new deals. Be aware
***When youu disconnect - They will try to WOOW you with offers just to get vital information.

PLEASE REMEBER - NEVER GIVE YOUR 3 DIGIT SECURITY NUMBER TO ANYONE YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT. These are the 3 digits at the back of the card that keep your card safe even when someone might have all other numbers on your card.

just had a call from this very rude man who would not shut the hell up about me getting insurance and when i spoke to my poartner he was like "i can hear you whispering", yeah? really? you were meant to, I then passed the phone over and let my partner loose on the tw*t. He wouldnt even put his "manager" on, its [***]

i keep getting calls day and night from this number and its making me nuts! I think its bogus as they want confidential info which the company they claim to represent would already have.

Someone is trying to call me from this number for number of times. As I am in europe right now i have tried to search online and realized this is a fake call.

01612168911, 02086175910, 01925555601, 08452015152 are all numbers used by carphone warehouse and in 2 days i have had 17 missed calls from them over these numbers. dont they get the hint that i dont wont to speak to them or renew my contract with them. good job they keep ringing the number which is my old contract number which will be shut off in a couple of days, Idiots

02086175910 Oftel records show that numbers starting 02086 175 are allocated to Opal Telecom Limited
and Opal is TalkTalk Business | talktalkbusiness.co.uk which is carphone warehouse

08452015152 The results show that it is marketing from CPW as it is a 0845 Oftel records wont match it up

I  GOT A CALL monday 30-may saying  my phone is due for upgrading asking details of my banked iask how are you they said Carphone warehouse. i phoned them back 6 times no answer

Keep getting this call, ostensibly from Carphone Warehouse. I will never EVER renew my contract with them because of this practice of phoning people and there being no-one on the line when you answer. Phoning back is frustrating too as they say its a call about a non-urgent matter then you can hold to speak to an operator, then no one is available and goodbye. CARPHONE TIME WASTERS.  Ofcom get out of your coma and sort them out...

I just got a call from this number. First on the mobile phone I'd just bought from carphone warehouse (on orange) and got a "Hello?" before a hang up. Then immediately after that call disconnected I got a call on my old phone (that I was upgrading from). I can't be sure but I assume I gave this number to CPW while buying my phone. So if they are calling its not just for contract renewals, there might be other reasons too. Sadly they didn't talk to me so its hard to tell. :)

Keep getting these call even after I have upgraded mu phone at the shop, numbers gone onto the blocklist should get some peace now

Havent read all the posts so sorry if someone has already posted this, i've been gettin the same problem, sometimes from different numbers, i went IN to carphone warehouse and before i could even finish my sentence they knew what i was talking about and apologised prefusely, somebody has gotten hold of their number and it is a scam.
Don't answer just incase you get charged a lot for picking up.

the worrying thing is that the guy told me it could be a month or two before it is resolved.. yet i see these posts date back 2 years. I never had this problem when i first started with Carphone warehouse, after 2 years renewed and as soon as i renewed i started getting the problem.

Only just brought my phone and got a call from them so they are not just targeting renewals.  Did not anser though but irritated becasue I brough mine over the phone and woudl have ticked not to be sold to 3rd parties if I coudl have brought on on the internet!
