I have been getting calls from 01612494490 and 01512901677
As soon as I answer they hang up.  I called them back and was answered by a recording asking me to press 1 and leave a message or press 2 and request my number be deleted from their database.  I pressed 2, was asked to submit my number and a female american recorded message said my number had now been deleted.  Sofar, I have not received any more calls (2 weeks) but I do wonder why they were calling and whether they are using my number for anything else(?).

called but no answer, think it may be a power company or other such company, I'd also had calls from 3 the telephone company so might be them !

This number keeps on making nuisance calls

I am getting 2 calls every day from 0161 2494490 & 0161 2494496, I answered by mistake once and they mumbled it was a wrong number. They have never left a message and it is driving me insane. This has been going on for months

got a call from this number today, first time, after reading all this i wont be calling them back and having the number blocked to prevent them calling in the future.

Some company trying to get me compensation for a car accident 2 years ago.  Not interested.

this isnt auot direct its cameleon limited have followed up false company stae side trying to get you to  give them bank details birth etc usual scam thou this one clever

If you phone back this number 01612494490 you can press the options so that you can remove your number from there call list

when they call they will ask for MR/MRS XX (you say who) they say blah blah (you say who sorry wrong number) and HANG UP DO NOT GIVE ANY DETAILS OF ANY SORT.

this number is a tele sales company working on a scam basis. DO NOT CONFIRM YOUR DETAILS!!!.
Just ask for the company name and say you will call them back. in most cases they will say you cant call them if thats the case HANG UP!!!!

talk to your phone provider and ask to put a block on comercial calls.

Because that is how the scammers get you!!

Called my direct line at work asking for my daughter.  When I said she wasn't on this number they asked for her mobile No.   I wouldn't give it and told them to write if they had any queries.    Must be about car insurance as I have just renewed hers and can't think it would be about anything else.

Call from this number claiming to be Chameleon Claims, asking for details of a "car accident you were involved in some time recently". Very vague, and as i have never had an accident, very suspicious. Seems to me they are touting for business/after personal details (if i'm being cynical), certainly wouldnt advise anyone to give details to people using these techniques, all seems very underhand...

Had this "Chameleon xxx" in relation to Confused.com or soemthing liek that.
Asking about a car accident claim... they had rang my boyfriend whom said he didn't really know the ins and outs, but advised the accident was over 1 yr ago, and was settled.
THey asked for my mobile and when I would be available but he didnt give any details.

Although I have used confused.com for quotes, never insurance, my insurance/broker was Lancaster Insurance, so nice to know they are potentially handing out details to random companies....

These are a fake insurance company claiming to be "Chamaleon xxx" they get your details from confused.com and are after your details for scam purposes. If you get a call from this number and they ask for you by name, immediately tell them they have the wrong name and number and hang up. if not they will ring again and again and again and again.

I just received a call from this bunch of clowns. They had bought my personal details from some car insurance company or aggregating site (confused.com, etc). Asked me if I had had an accident in the last 2 and a half years. Couldn't tell me where exactly they had bought my details from so I refused to deal with them.

Predial system, so there is a pause between you answering an being connected.

They tried to tell me that I had an injury in the last 2 years & that I can claim compensation.  I haven't!

If you ignore the call they will keep trying twice a day ( been going about a month before I gave in).

Answer, tell them to not call again if you're not interested!

Yep, just got my first call off them - answered the phone to total silence. I gave them a minute but if they obviously didn't fancy chatting. Called the number back (at least they have the decency to not keep their number secret when calling) and followed the Bolton lad/American lass instructions to have my number removed, but after entering it it seemed it had not registered the number at all. Nice one. If they call again, and judging by comments on here they probably will, I'll be taking the advice of Mark on page 2 or 3 of this forum, finding the phone numbers of the named and shamed directors and cold calling them in the same vein.

Not sure how they would have got my number as I never give it out, certainly haven't used confused.com or anywhere, I don't even have a motor insurance policy! [***].

Had a call from this number today whilst out shopping. I don't generally answer calls from numbers I don't recognise. For some reason I answered this one and was greeted by a very high-pitch voice which was heavily distorted like a Dalek. I don't know if it was the mobile signal where I was or something else that caused the problem but I hung up because I couldn't understand what they were saying. I won't be answering any more calls from this number, if it's important they can leave a message or p*ss off and leave me alone. I've recently had a quote through gocompare, and purposefully went out of my way to select the option to not be contacted by themselves or anybody else.
