They call me to day to ask if i had had an accident in the last 3 days.I said no and they said they will change ther records. Is someone using it for insurance scams?

First received a call from this number 14/1/11 on my mobile, they said their company name was Action Claims? Then asked me for some details (which i declined) Then asked me to participate in survey, which i refused and asked them not to call me back, now they are calling on my landline and mobile phone persistently and hanging up when i answer! Started to log date and times when they phone now.

Had a call today from this number, asking for another member of my family - called themselves 'Action Crime'.

Never heard of them - can't find them on the net. 99.99% chance that this number is a cold call scam. Advice - ignore.

I can confirm that phoning doesn't register your number, however nomorecalls@chameleonfinanceltd.co.uk worked fine for me. I emailed with remove as the subject, and my number in the message field. hope this helps.

Called today by Action Claims - less than 24hrs after a request for pet insurance quote on confused.com and money supper market.com not sure which one is passing on the details but a little to coinsidental not to be one of them.

You can register a complaint that they are in breach of the Direct Marketing Code of Practice (Section 6.7) on the basis they are making "Percistent unwanted solicitations" and they MUST remove your details

had 2 missed calls from this number as i dont answer this phone during working hours, i believe its an accident claims company

THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IF YOU ANSWER AND ACTUALLY SPEAK TO SOMEONE!

do not confirm your name, but ask "who's calling please" then tell them they've rang the scene of a very serious crime and since they've asked for the occupier by their name, you need to know EVERYTHING about them and their connection with the occupier to eliminate them from your enquiries!! When they say they're calling from a mailing list, tell them its an ex-directory number so they must know the occupier personally, then ask to speak to their supervisor and tell them to expect a visit or a call from the investigating officer.

this puts the fear of god up them!! I've done this a few times, its hilarious, but make sure you keep composed right through the conversation and never ever say you're police or anything like that as its illegal to say you are if you're not!!

Hi i have just called BT and they advised that you call back the number and go through the list to have your number removed for their systems. They are required by law to offer this service and if the calls don't stop after 48 hour they can then be reported for continuing to call.

I got 2 calls off this number today, it's a a company calling themselves Chameleon, they are saying i was involved in a road traffic incident in the last 2 years and i may be entitled to unclaimed money,,,i've not been involved in any incidents,,,,it's companies like these that are putting our premiums up every year,,,,grrrr,,,,i hung up

Nobody wants unsolicited calls to their own homes.  No one with any sense would agree to give up their personal information of any description, regardless of what you tell them to some stranger over the phone.  If I haven't come to you, and I am speaking to you over the phone, there is absolutely no way of me knowing if you are who you say you are.  It would therefore be very foolish of me to speak with you at all.  I have a policy of never giving my custom to services who seek me out.  I choose when and if I want a service and I check out for myself who I will give my custom to.  If my insurer has broken the Data Protection Act by passing on my contact details to you, surely you are also accountable if you accept, nay pay for this infringement.  If I do not know who you are, I have not given permission for you to contact me, therefore you are no different from being a cold caller. I am ex-directory for a reason, but some companies insist that I give my number to them despite my reluctance.  I always ask that this is not shared with anyone else, clearly there is a lack of respect here both from your company (if there really is one) and the insurers who blatantly disregard their customer's rights to privacy and Data Protection.

Just received a call from this number, said it was from i believe. . . chameleon claims!!!  that might be wrong, it wasn't a very clear line. . .  very arrogant guy on the other end of the phone. . .  wanting me to confirm my name, when i said i wasn't interested he said NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT!! I said goodbye (even if they annoy me i never lower myself to insults) and hung up!!!

Hangs up when you answer.

I did and i didn't work fool....Jesus its not hard is it!

line seems active when I answer, but no one answers when I speak. £ calls in 3 afternoons.
