Like most pol on heya I had a phone call a few hours ago askin me were I live an and side I ow a 70pound bill and a needed to pay all of it now Ur make a small token payment wot ever that means I told them I disint liv in that house were that had me down as liven that side that wil fine me an sent pol round to my hose to recover wot I ow them the only this is am in the T.A an am always away anyone know wot I shud do

It is Moorcroft. I have a friend who says they are basically bully boys trying to scare people into paying old debts that they have bought. He apparantly as ignored them for years. He also said he thought Westcroft debt recovery is another one who they may be linked to. Bloody annoying but just put the number as Moorcroft in your phone and ignore them!!

No matter what they say or who they are just tell them ...
'Sorry you need an appointment and close the door.

Without a warrant issued nobody can pressure you at home!!!

I've been recieving calls from these too but I never answer them. If they can't send me a letter to tell me what it's about then stuff them. And the law states they cannot do a doorstep visit without ur consent first so if they tell u their sending someone round tell them u know ur rights and that u have not given ur permission and never shall. If they turn up anyway tell them they are trespassing ask them to leave and let them know u only deal with them by letter and also send them a letter stating the same and keep a copy. So next time they call ring the police and log it as harrassment

I have just recently recived a call from this number. they claimed that they owned a debt of mine, however when i refused to make a payment over the phone he said he will send a exspendature form? I then called my solicitors who the debt is with and they said they have not sold the debt. can anything be done to this company?

Sonia, and anyone else.......... Moorcroft are yet another ten-bob DCA, much the same as Cabot, Lowell, Red, etc etc etc. If the debt is unsecured, they will do nothing. Yeah, they'll write and phone threatening all kinds of terrible penalties if you don't pay. But the bottom line is they won't take action. They probably paid pennies in the pound to take on the debt. They are parasites. And even they are not dumb enough to pay up-front Court fees to persue it. Ignore them. Happy Christmas.

This number rings on numerous occasions. Sometimes as early as 8.00a.m. even on weekends. Occasionally a recorded message is left from The Moorcroft Group which I think is a debt recovery agency. However, when I have ever tried to speak to them nobody is there.   I have had them ask for Alan who does not live here. Getting fed up now as these calls can happen up to 8 times a day.

This number calls me daily, early hours and late at night.
On the odd time I have answered I have specifically asked them to not contact me and to remove any trace of my number from their database.
They say they will, then a week or so later I receive more calls.
They never leave a message on the answering machine either.

When i ring back asking they remove my details, they say they can help with debts etc. My advise to anyone is not to use these people, and if you do have debts go to the FREE governmnet services - these guys are shady and will not help you, also I have noted lots of people are paying money to these poeple - NEVER pay money unless you have the details of the debt in full, in writing and always go through whom you owed the debt to first! It may come back and bite you later!

Called chasing someone who lived at this address 7 yearsa ago. Very abrupt and inqusisative. Said he was from MDR - Moorcroft Debt Recovery not that they will tell you what MDR is. Oddly if you Google the number UPS comes up so you may think that you are getting a parcel delivered.

I have been receiving calls from this number for over a week now.  If I do manage to answer, just goes dead.  Going to put number in phone and ignore them.

Keep getting daily calls from this number an electronicaly generated female voice asks me to call them as a matter of urgency , on other voicemails no message is left.

i received a call from MRD tonight asking for my partner but would not tell me what it was about. I mentioned that the number was ex-directory. The reply I got was that my partner had gave it to them, which isnt beleiveable in the slightest. If they call again I will put the phone down, they are very rude people.

Rang about 15mins ago, Didn't recognise number so pressed cancel call, left a short voicemail, simply a female saying "Hello, Hello?" then hung up!

DO NOT talk to them on the phone EVER! Get everything in writing only, they will lie and try to cheat you out of money.

just get a call from them about 10 minute ago asking me to identify my address but never have any dealing with them in the pass the address quoted is not my address i refused to disclose any more information about myself to her this is togs looking for ways to make quick money

my mother got a call from these  people today dont give them anything

Received a call from "Kay" asking if I had received the two letters they had sent to me,and was told to phone the number on the letter,I thought it was someone having a joke so became just a little flippant with her (no abuse) she told me to phone the number on the letter and hung up.I do not owe anyone any money if I cant save and pay for it I go without,have not received anything from this company and will not be giving any details to them over the phone, I will be more than happy for them to take me to any court for any debt..... I know that I dont have any!

Have had one threatening letter from MDR relating to a 'debt' from DL who I DON'T OWE ANY MONEY, so I've written to DL to contact MDR and tell them ...........
