01614752875 called me today, 8.30am on a Sunday morning, then again at 10am and again at 11am, they also call every single week day between 4pm and 5pm. We do have a debt with them which we have a re-payment agreement that we DO PAY every month, yet they still persistently call almost every day. But calling at 8.30am on a Sunday morning when my kids are asleep has to be some form of harassment now surely? Especially as I am already paying them !!!!!!!!!!

Just had a call from this number. They said they were Moorcroft but did not say they were a debt collection agency which I understand they are from Googling the name. As far as I am aware I have no debts.

They asked for me by name (surname) and then asked me to confirm address and DOB, which I didn't do as I don't know who they are; instead I asked them who they are, but they didn't tell me.

They said they were calling in relation to a letter sent on the 15th...the call then cut off, so could be January or December - however I haven't received a letter from them at any point in the 2 months I've been in this house and have no idea why they are ringing me or how they got this number.

They ring me every day now, sometimes just missed call, sometimes they leave voicemail with mechanised voice asking me to ring a number. Which I'm not going to do - if they have something to say, they could at least leave a proper message. If they call and I can pick up, I might reply just in case I can get them off my back, but really getting fed up with all this. I certainly don't appreciate someone like this trying to ring me on a Saturday morning  - my phone was off, but they didn't know that when they tried.

Had a few phone calls from them asking for Kieran Street, told them each time that I'm not them.  Just mention to them that you believe the calls to be a case of harassment.

Few details I got from their manager.

Also getting missed telephone calls from this number. very wary of these tactics where they ring once and charge you premium during a call back.

They're a pain in the rear end. If people had the money to pay the debts they chase, don't they think the person would have paid them already! Plus, it annoys me these companies buy the original debt at a fraction of it's original value then take advantage of people in financial hardship by recovering the full amount. they have a cheek.

If you pick up but stay silent, the phone call just cuts out - typical call centre! The only good thing is, if you pick up, it costs them everytime they phone you but they get no further foward so they just rack up more and more costs.

JUST RECIEVED A CALL DEMANDING OVER £1000 TO BE PAID BY CREDIT/DEBIT CARD!!!!! THIS IS NO NORMAL COMPANY BEHAVIOUR AND I EXPECT SOMETHING IS'NT RIGHT.  ADVICE TO OTHERS IS DONT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION AND ASK FOR ALL CORRESPONDANCE TO BE SENT IN WRITING AS YOU SHOULDN'T DISCUSS FINANCIAL MATTERS VERBALLY OVER THE PHONE.

had a debt from a Capital One card. The post was on a forward when I moved and I did not receive any statements for 5-6 months. I thought I had cleared the card, so wasn't worried. In fact there was a small balance - £11 or £19 pounds. In these months, it was moved to debt collection and the balance went from £19 to £215. As happens in the world of let's bully the weak. I found this out in December 2008 when a debt collection letter did get properly forwarded I paid it immediately by Bacs for peace of mind. Since then, they continued chasing even after I had paid. I got another letter after a couple of months peace on a the same forwarding setup in March and rang and they said send proof. In May the money was being demanded again by Lowells who I had paid and had already emailed the proof to in March when they would not stop chasing.

I had a text from Hamptons legal three days ago, and when I called they said it was in connection with Lowells. I said this was old and had been paid at the time and since then demanded now twice, in spite of proof being sent each time. It is hard to dig up the proof and remember when it happened. I think they are chancing it that you will just pay again to be free from worry. I dug through my statements again today and found the proof and emailed it to Hamptons legal now they should be more reputable? No, I then had a call from MDR - a personal call. I didn't like the sound of the man so googled MDR personal and found this site. I think it is wrong. I think it is like Amex. Giving discounts to the wealthy and bullying, hassling and robbing the poor. Bullying people who are feeling overwhelmed and are genuinely worried because they will cave in from fear and give these scoundrels money faster. These companies, keep coming back. They cannot have such a fatal flaw that they miss logging the one thing they are chasing. I think they think that if they try someone again, they think they will find another weak down-hearted soul to intimidate and try to take money from. They are like playground bullies. I think they should think about what gives them their kicks. Kicking people who are weak?? Pathetic. No better than any other criminals that go for people who are in significantly weaker circumstances than themselves.

Received a call at 8pm - the caller asked if he was speaking to ****** I confirmed yes, he said he was calling from Moorcroft and immediately asked me my DOB. This immediately rang alarm bells so I asked who Moorcroft are, he replied "We are a company" !!!

He then asked me if I lived at ****** I said no (as this was my old address) again he asked for my DOB. I asked for a tel number to give him a call back as I was not prepared to give that info unless I knew he was a legitimate caller. He did not like this one bit. He said he had to make sure he knew he was speaking to the right person and again asked me to confirm my address, he said it was about a serious debt and a letter had been sent to my old address. He was extremely rude and insistent.

I asked him for a number again, to which he said only once he had confirmed who I was would he give me a number and that he couldn't give me the number because I wouldn't know the account details to ring back. I said I would not give any details over the phone and hung up.

I then phoned my ex - still living at that address. He said no post had come for me in at least 8 months.

My friend says they are a legitimate co as he once applied for a job with them but I am still wary ( and very glad he didn't get the job!). I would not recommend giving any personal details to anyone over the phone, never mind a "company" who refuse to explain who they are until they have your DOB and address. Do they think we are that stupid? ...............................................................................................

As I was writing this I have just received another call form "Emma" asking me to confirm my details for DPA again! I said (very politely) sorry I'm not sure who Moorcroft are. She replied "I cannot tell you that until I know who I am speaking to"! I said I wasn't going to give any information to her as I did not know who she was. She said once she had passed DPA she would tell me and asked me to confirm my address; I gave her her own line back and said, I cannot tell you that until I know who I am speaking to. I then hung up. That was 2 calls in 40 mins.

These people are scum bags - they bully and harrass - they bring nothing to the table-  their objective is to get money from you by whatever means.

These debts are unsecured - they have NO AUTHORITY - don't pay them - try to be polite - however -if you told them to F~@K off ! -- it wouldnt matter ! They get told that all day. DON'T BE INTIMIDATED, say you'll call the police if they call again --if they laugh at you send them this letter

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> They send out legal letters  -- here is the draft of one you can send to them ...

    Dear Sirs

    WITHOUT PREJUDICE

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the telephone calls that I have received from your company .

I am now formally requesting that all further correspondence to < your name > be  made in writing only.

I demand that these phone calls stop immediately and to any other telephone number assigned to <name> on your data base. I am familiar with the terms of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1970 and I believe this is harassment and places you in breach of these acts.

If you continue to call, you will also be in breach of the Wireless Telegraphy Act (1949) and, as such, I will report you to both Trading Standards, The Office of Fair Trading, the police with an insistence via the duty inspector of the reporting police station that a crime report is initiated against your company and subsequently the individual making the call. With an additional posting on the internet for the media and public’s attention to add to the hundreds of complaints about your company’s modus operandi.

Take further note that continued telephone calls after the receipt of a request ‘not to call’ will constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003 and you will have been in de facto breach of the Telecommunication act 1984 (as amended) (cf: Section 43. 1 (b), and are committing a prima facie criminal offence attracting a £5000 fine or 6 months imprisonment), on the grounds that it is unnecessary, causes anxiety and is a pointless waste of time.

You will be deemed to have been served notice of my request and I will deem it served by < date > of < Month > Two Thousand and Eleven (XX/XX 2011) I am advising you that any calls received after this date to our company and any of < your name > telephone numbers will be recorded with the intention of them being used as evidence against you and your company.

    Yours  Fathfully
