My advice is buy a whistle & blow it through the phone, they'll soon stop harrassing you.

These people keep phoning and when I answer they hang up have called and explained if they do this again I will call the police and advise nuances calls

They need to sort their stuff out and not randomly call wrong numbers

They call in the evenings, my device doesn't let them ring through to me, they leave gargled messages with a phone numbers. I don't know how they got my numbers (mobile and landline) but i'm not bothered, my device intercepts all calls for me.  ; )

Hi..there are many ways of getting any persons address or phone number..so it does not matter where you are or what u do..I have got caller I d .. u get a phone that displayed the number..any withheld number comes up withheld so I don't answer it or any number that is not on my address book  I don't answer..because u get used to the numbers that come up on your caller I d..ring  bt  they done mine..so now don't answer half as many  called that I normally do thank you bt..sandy

moorcroft have tried to get money out of me for a debt that does not exist

Could hear there were people in the background but the caller remained silent. Would not identify themselves, then hung up. 1471 brought up this number. Call was at 3.45pm on a Saturday.
I have seen online that this is Moorcroft or MDR - thank goodness for the internet, I would have had no idea who this was otherwise.

I'm wary of any number I don't know calling me but this number called on Sunday!!!! Then this eve Monday twice I answered first but I didn't say anything, then hung up as I didn't recognise voice saying hello... I haven't  answered this eve  I thought the area code was odd so googled that first just now & came up Manchester !! That's other side country to me! So put in whole number & this site came up very helpful!! I don't have any debts?! So I don't know why they are calling me I don't put my number in to anything if it starts on my landline though I will be annoyed as its only a year since I last changed it as it used to be some company & had constant over seas callers!

Never ever talk about your debts on the phone to debt collection agency. See forums at consumer action group website.

Called my mobile today, have no debt whatsoever, would advise people to be very wary of giving personal details over the phone.. They call me again it's a whistle or 10 mins listening to the local radio station - works wonders but impossible to do while in work so they left a message and not for me either!.

just tell them that you will only deal with the matter in writeing only & any more calls from them or there compamy (s) could be classed as harassment & as such they will be in breach of section 1 of the protection from harassment act 1997 & also delete all contact numbers they have for you, failer to do so leaves them in breach of the data protection act (not keeping accurate & up to date records)

It's nearly 21.00, I have just received yet another call from this MDR. I will be contacting my local trading standards in the morning as these calls are beginning to annoy me.  I would suggest that everyone else does the same.

Moorcroft Debt Recovery Limited or MDR. Their address is: Moorcroft House, 2  Spring Gardens, Stockport, Cheshire SK1 4AN. They don't just send letters to the person they want at an address, they also get details from voter's rolls to obtain neighbour's names and then check to see if they have a phone number listed and ring them up as well, asking for information about the person they are after. I have had enough of them and I'm going to report them for harassment and tell my neighbours to do the same!!

I got a call earlier today from someone called (i think he said) james walker from MDR, i'd never heard of them so i hung up, my hearing isnt very good but i definitely don't have any unpaid debts, they might be looking for my ex husband who left my address over a year ago :-/ i don't know where he lives now & i hope this company isnt going to continue to harrass me for any debts he may have :-/

I keep getting pestered by this english company who claim to be mdr, they keep asking for someone who  hasnt lived at my address for over a year, my friends keep telling me to get a whistle & blow it through the phone when they call because that apparently stops them from harrassing you, i'm very tempted.

Just got two calls in succession from this number. No-one on the end of the line. Very annoying...
