Similar messages to the above. Received an automated "non-human" voicemail asking me to call them. Searched their number and it's Moorcroft. Naturally I was concerned, as I have no debt issues, so I called them and they said that they have no live accounts connected to the mobile number they'd called.

Great, as expected, but how do they have my number and why are they calling me?

I keep getting calls from this number two of three times a day. I don't pick up sometimes it is a man voices that leave a message and other time it is just a message saying to ring them back. I have been told the is someone trying to scram you out of money. I'm a single mum of 4 so ain't got money to be giveing someone trying to scram me. Any help would be great

Had a call from moorcroft an hour ago and said to ring them back it's urgent, rang them and sai to ring a nunber that was given on a letter... Which I haven't even received!  After reading most of these comments it's clear to me that these people are nothing more than scammers! I wanna know how they it my name and nunber as I'm in contract :/

Just received a call on  my mobile, I thought it was a legitimate call as it was a 0161 number.  I asked who they were.  He said Mark from Moorcroft.  I asked what they did and he wouldn't tell me said they would send a letter instead.  I do not have any debts so I don't know how they got my number unless it is due to identity fraud.  Have done a credit check on myself and waiting to hear.  Also waiting to get letter from them!

Sounded like a recorded message but could not hear properly what was being said , would not repeat it just hung up

Caller asked for husband by name. Said he was from MDR but would not discuss why he was calling. We are an ex directory number and only give home number to important contacts such as banks.  After looking at the comments shall look forward to them ringing back later. Will be reporting number to oftel.

Keep getting calls from this number and so now I just answer the phone and leave it on the bench

Keep hassling me over a mysterious debt of £42 for a mobile phone. Had phone stolen 4 years ago and contacted provider to cancel it then got another phone! I owe nothing!

Getting very annoying now!

Bad news Moorcroft is still on the go, changed name from NWT leasing in 1985.
Both companies run by the McRoberts Mafia, bunch of chancers.
Try complaining to "The Financial Services Authority" their website has a section where you can dowload the rule and regs that currently governing the conduct of all registerd debt collection companies.
You all should complain about their tactics, keep a diary of when they phone time, date, phone number, use 1471 if no message, report them and feel better, post your complaint on the social media,maybe go viral, or get your local rapper do his number online about Moorcroft.POWER TO THE PEOPLE and social media.

yes great idea, go to FSA website and download PDF Debt Collection Guidance (free) you will be amazed at how illegal moorcroft have been acting, flood them with complaints every time the try to contact you, we have the law on our side, do not be afraid to use it

If you ignore theyre calls, ignore letters and never confirm your date of birth, they will sell your debt to someone else, this can be done for 6 years till it gets written off.

Just received a call at 8:50 which seems to be a popular time for these, asked me to confirm my details told him no as he's called me! Then said you've been sent a letter which like most people I haven't.  I said why are you calling me from a debt recovery company, I have no outstanding debt, in which he responded 'I never said I was from a debt company' obviously though I was stupid. Again asked for my address, told him no, he said he will send another letter to me. This guy was really shady, told him to F*off and put the phone down. If they keep calling I will report them as I know I do not have any outstanding debt.
