It's not a scam but they are persistent if you don't answer. I usually ignore calls like these but I took one last year and to cut a long story short I got a fair bit of money because of their work.  They do charge 39% but there's no way I would have even bothered to have challenged a missold PPI.  You don't get charged if the claim is not successful.  Of course if you've never had a loan or a credit card then it's not worth talking to them.  I must say the chap that called me was not rude at all, perhaps I was the exception going by a lot of the comments.

If you made the claim yourself (the forms are downloadable online) then you would have got ALL the money you were owed, rather than giving theses parasites 39%.

It is a pity that so many people work for these telemarketing companies. I assume that they do so because nowadays there are so few worthwhile jobs that are available or for which they are qualified. I usually tell the caller to stop annoying me and to get a proper job such as road sweeper, dustman, cesspit cleaner: doing something that benefits society.

called on my home phone,did not answer it,then they phoned on my mobile when I answered they hung up

On average I get about 12-15 unsolicited calls a day and I have been called three times by these "people". They were rude and abrupt, they said they were the claims advisory group and needed my full bank details (to look if I had a claim), starting with the long number on my card. I told them to not ring or i will call the police! They hung up mid sentence! They only used my first name for some reason that was an obvious red flag. I have contacted O2 regarding these calls (a couple of weeks ago) and they state that it was in the terms and conditions of my mobile contract, to have my details sold on (I thought this is why I signed a "Data Protection Act" when I took out the contract?! and I see nothing about this in my paperwork?) I think I may get a new number if this carries on, i've had the same number for over ten years, I am very sad that they have done this to my number!

Iv had 5 missed call off this number 01614....seen its a Manchester area code, wish they would stop calling me...any idea who it I ????

I keep getting numerous calls from 0161, when I did answer they said they were the government and said I owe debt money could I give my bank details to them to get it sorted, when I said I had no debt and no to bank details they hung up....be careful people.....
