I just answered a call from these lovely people who seem genuine and asked me all sorts of questions about taking out a loan over 10 years ago and that i was mis sold PPI when i took out a loan.  When i questioned them, they told me its not a scam and they would be sending me stuff through the post and i have to act on it urgently so that i can get my claim quickly.  They also said the government are cracking down on all mis sold claims and advice......what happens next they have my details.  To re assure me they put me through several people acting like supervisors managers etc.....i was also given a reference number.

this number is a scam, they have phoned me around 50 times in the last 4 days home number and mobile number i have told them im not interested and now keep txting my saying my loan has been approved what i would like to know is what loan?

They are ringing me about 4 times a day and when i answer they put the phone down

That's funny,I have only been getting these calls since TMobile merged with Orange, and I've always been with TMobile!

I would urge you to look at the last post on page 8.  Make a note of the details of the call and contact David Budworth at The Times.  It is a genuine post, Google him.  
I was called today but could not take the call and rejected it, my partner was also called by the same number last week so i was curious and Googled the number to find all of these posts.   I will be answering next time and will be mailing David the details of the call.

If you check previous posts you will see that this company will take 39% of any compensation you may get. You can claim directly from the loan company and get all the money. The Government have changed the law to make this possible.

After complaining to Claims Advisory Group and getting them to remove my number from their list i asked them where they happened to get my details from and they had bought them www.thedataoctopus.co.uk.

At the moment that website seems to be down, but i think that if you want to stop alot of these bogus calls it would be best to try and find some sort of contact address for The Data Octopus, since they are a company that only sells people details

I keep getting calls from them and they say they are Claims Advisory Group. I never continue the conversation as I was always at work when they called.

Now that so many free PPI claims tools exist such as Which? Magazine's http://www.which.co.uk/campaigns/personal-fin ... ign/claim-back/ which gives you 100% of your claim back and ex-PPI sellers are contacting mis-sold PPI victims to compensate them direct, the bottom is about to drop out of the PPI claims market. This will hopefully mean that the dodgy CMM firms will stop calling you as they increasingly go under.

In this particular case, the company's accounts are also overdue, and they may be changing name again, or the company may simply be struck-off, as many of the director's previous companies have
been. Whatever the case, they are unlikely to bother you for much longer due to the huge number of complaints about them to the ICO, MOJ, FOS, TPS etc

keep getting 01614781080 ringing my mobile phone, when i answer they hang up, tried ringing back but number is engaged.

I've just received a call from this number, I picked up and it was a recorded message from Claims Advisory Line saying they will call back and that i can call them on a freephone number if i want - however, freephone numbers generally arent free from mobiles.
I was at work at the time so I called the 0161 number that came up on my phone and asked them why they called - they asked for the number that I was called on, i quoted the 0161 number and he must have tried to match the phone number i was calling on (a work landline) to their system but failed as they then quoted a completely different name.
Basically, they sensed my tone and were polite and just said they would remove my details from the system. I expect to get another call though...

just got a call from this number - individual very common and unprofessional. Claimed it was regarding PPI. Have reported call to FSA and made a formal complaint.

We are all receiving these annoying calls.... Why is nothing done about it?
Is there anything that can be done?

To block 'un-named calls'. Means losing calls from those friends who do not like to display their numbers for various reasons?
