- The truth speaker replies to A truly qualified person| 3 repliesI have no problem with that.there was just one comment you did make in a previous post.you stated that the floor areas had changed.well in fact they hadn't.the total floor areas on both valuations were virtually the same.the only difference in the val was that the lower ground floor was in at a lower level per sq metre.
- RICSMEMBER1 replies to The truth speaker| 2 repliesI think that the real point is obscured here and it needs to be emphasised. Bridgestone appealed and probably took money upfront and failed. Mr Simon sought a correction to the RV just in time otherwise that refund would have been lost. Bridgestone were yet another telesales outfit and has been wound up. Liquidators report is found easily on Google. Goodwill valued at 2000. Every scam rating firm runs the same model and it is telesales and it is either for an open upfront fee, or a hidden one or an iron boot contract with a penalty clause. One telesales firm is known to have t&c s of some 3000 words on one a4 sheet in 5pt type. You only do that to hide something. Ultimately if businesses say no to telesales rating advisors then problem solved. Must focus on the business model not the company name because that is too easy to change.
- The truth speaker replies to RICSMEMBER1| 1 replyThe problem is trading standards, the rics, the media and the vo know who these firms are.yet, nothing is been done, not yet.the funny thing is the abuse that Mr simon has had is probably from people who work for these firms.it will take time to clear up this industry but it will be done.
- RICSMEMBER1 replies to The truth speakerThe more appeals that fail or the more that are put off appealing when they are overpaying, the more money for the revenue. the Cowboys currently make millions for the Revenue each year. Reform most likely to be to make it harder for genuine firms to be successful on appeal. Last proposed reform was going that way. I see no prospect of a clean up save for businesses turning off the phone. I wouldn't employ a telesales dentist, solicitor or accountant. So why employ a telesales surveyor?
- legionAs a casual observer of this thread, it may just be possible CVS were instrumental in obtaining a reduction of business rates for some restaurant somewhere. Still, it does not excuse the countless multitude of other businesses that have been deceived and have lost money through this scam company over the years. Fact!
- Peter| 16 repliesLooking at the valuation office website and the RICS and IRRV websites I can see that the advice is that surveyors who are RICS or IRRV should be instructed and not anyone who is not qualified.
I then looked at the membership of RICS and IRRV and I cant find the name of Steven Simon. It seems that Steven Simon is another cowboy.
What Steven Simon was saying is that his 2010 appeal was dismissed because he agreed the 2005 appeal. This is total rubbish. They are two different valuations.
Why is a non regulated and non qualified person such as Steven Simon lodging rating appeals for occupiers? Be warned! - MRICS replies to PeterJust a thought, but does the RICS and/or IRRV website list retired, ex-members? I don't know if they do or not.
Is it possible that Steven Simon could come under that category? Perhaps he was a member and now serves the odd appeal to keep himself busy? Is that possible? There would be nothing wrong with that if it was the case as far as I can see. - The truth speaker replies to Peter| 14 repliesWhat is your problem.why don't you speak to steve ridleagh the restaurant owner.peter or whoever you are you obviously work for one of these scamming firms.tell everybody who you work for.you won't will you?
- Peter replies to The truth speaker| 13 repliesIts not about me. Its about Steven Simon. Why are you defending a non regulated and non qualified person.
He has been caught out fibbing. - The truth speaker replies to Peterphone up the restaurant owner if you have a problem but you won't will you.and it is about you as well as you are calling him a liar.bet you you wont reveal yourself to Mr ridleagh and call him a liar as you have done.i know what this all about.this is about the amount of firms who are are ripping people off.you have called Mr simon a scammer because he got a reduction and you can't figure out how?he has got a better success rate than all these other firms put together.and finally you don't have to be qualified to put a rating appeal.you just have to have knowledge as to how the rating system works.phone up the restaurant owner if you have a problem and apologise.
- The truth speaker replies to Peter| 11 repliesAnd who would you prefer to use.somebody whom has been recommended or a firm who persistently phone you up to tell you you are overpaying although they haven't inspected the premises.they may be rics accredited.i know who I would use
- Peter replies to The truth speaker| 10 repliesMy advice to anyone reading this is to only use a firm who have surveyors who are RICS or IRRV regulated.
Steven Simon is neither and it seems that he is a cowboy.
Steven Simon is a liar.
Why are you defending Steven Simon? - The truth speaker replies to Peter| 9 repliesYou still will not phone up the restaurant owner.i wonder why.are you prepared to go to court and call him a liar.guess not.
- Peter replies to The truth speaker| 8 repliesWe know that the valuation office reduced the rateable value on the 2005 list but Steven Simon had his appeal dismissed on the 2010 rating list. This is fact.
What also is fact is that Steven Simon is not RICS or IRRV regulated.
Why are you defending Steven Simon? - The truth speaker replies to Peter| 7 repliesyou are continually repeating yourself.you will neither phone up the restaurant owner or the vo.i now know why you have come onto this site.this particular discussion would have never come onto this site until one of your colleagues had complained about the radio programme on this site.you bleat on about how mr simon is not qualified and therefore should not be allowed to do rating appeals.you state that you should only use a firm who have any qualifications.does this mean you should use cvs whom you no doubt work for who charge fifty percent of each years savings and try to to charge for the period of 2015-2017 on a contract which was signed before the extension period was announced.oh by the way are cvs now closing down their bristol office and employing more of their staff onto debt collection.theirbusiness model is in danger of collapse.see the insults flying in now.
- Peter replies to The truth speaker| 5 repliesThe reason I am repeating myself is because you will not answer a simple question on why you are defending Steven Simon the non qualified and non regulated cowboy.
You are sounding more and more like Mr Angry.
At least Mr Angry is not a conman. - The real justiceforvictims replies to Peter| 3 repliesJust been reading this posts.quite amusing.peter you state Mr Simon is a liar.why?has not the restrauter got £14000 back due to Mr Simons endeavours.if you are calling Mr Simon a liar you are obviously calling Mr ridleagh.is that true?
- The real truth speaker replies to The truth speakerHave I stumbled upon a blog for a fan club for a Mr Steven Simon. Aside from "peter" who doesn't seem to have joined, all sorts of people have commented on this Mr Simon as if they know him (and some really well like they know who he knows: the gentleman from Gerald Eve. How do they know this?). I don't get why they are focussing on one apparent successful appeal from 2009....why doesn't someone shut Peter up with some current successes this Simon Stevens has had. I believe someone, probably the truth speaker said that he has had many successes so just quote some to check out and hey ho that will shut the doubters up.. remember one swallow does not a summer make...so one success does not mean Simon is any good. While I am on why is it that anyone who presents a different opinion to the regulars on the site is immediately labelled as worker for a cowboy company? By the way I don't!
- Peter replies to The real justiceforvictims| 1 replyIt has nothing to do with the restaurant.
This is to do with Steven Simon who is a non regulated and none qualified cowboy.
The valuation office website has lots of information. Can anybody show one reduction where this so called leading expert in business rates has lodged a rating appeal and secured a reduction.
Can the real Steven Simon please tell us, does he have professional indemnity insurance of £250,000 as all chartered surveyors must have? - The truth speaker replies to Peternor will you.i keep repeating myself.why don't you phone up the restaurant owner.a simple answer to a simple question.
