Please send me yours and I will reply with my shop details.
Thanks - READ EVERYTHING!| 10 repliesJUSTICE FOR VICTIMS (as you claim to be - without knowing the full facts!), if you sign up with this company there are forms you need to sign for them to do anything for you ( I have copies of these). I READ these forms and they confirm they DO NOT guarantee reductions. It also confirms they DO NOT refund fee's either - NOT even in small print! My advice would be to read ALL of the paperwork because if not, how do you know what you are signing? I didn't sign the forms to appeal, but then again, I was told I was paying lower than I should as I had recently had a mezzanine floor installed! Maybe other business owner's should read the paperwork too and if they don't, then who is to blame? I can't fault them as they were honest enough with me about my shop but maybe other people should start reading things before just signing anything?!
- Justice for victimsa replies to READ EVERYTHING!I do know all the facts.i know how these firms operate.let me explain how the system works.they phone you up to say they are in the area.they then tell you your rates are too high.rateable values on the compiled list are based on rental values as at april2008.secondly the important thing to remember is the toning level for the area.thirdly obviously you want to make sure the floor areas are correct.why then does this firm still take your money upfront when they know they cannot win.they are scammers.they have conned people throughout the country.i have the evidence.tell me how often they go to vt.hardly ever.by the way you do pay rates for a mezzanine.do you work for this firm.if not let us all know the post code for your premises.dont tell me i haven't the facts.
- Justice for victims replies to READ EVERYTHING!| 8 repliesFirstly with reference to my previous message I had read your message incorrectly.notwithstanding that why would you come onto this message board to inform us that sj associates had approached you to put an appeal in and then told you not to put an appeal on the grounds that your rateable value was too low.this does not make any sense.why would you do this.i know how this firm operates.to all those who have been scammed i hope next year brings you better fortune.
- READ EVERYTHING replies to Justice for victims| 7 repliesNot that it is any of your business, or that I need to explain myself to YOU but after I met with them, I was left a card in the event I needed any further help with anything and a number of weeks later I received a questionnaire for information about my property. As I have never seen one of these before, I wanted to contact them for advice on what I needed to put down but could not find the card I was left. I found this site while trying to search them on the internet. When I did find them, they had a gentleman surveyor contact me and run through the form with me. Even though they could not help with an appeal and I had not paid them any money, they still had the decency to help me with my form. This fully makes me question their motives, why do this if the whole thing is a scam, as you claim. Maybe other people should read the paperwork before signing, as my brother is a solicitor, I know full well that anything in writing, that I would have signed, would have been the only evidence that would stand in a court case/claim etc. Also, I have previously confirmed my property is paying lower than it should be so why on earth would I post my property details on here?! (Clearly this does not make sense, as with a number of your comments). And, I am not sure what you are trying to get at exactly, but no, I do not work for this company and considering the amount of messages you post, it seems you are supporting some sort of hate campaign or are maybe even a competitor? To me this would make sense. Anyway, I posted my experience with them to confirm the way they approached me - which is quite clearly different from the way you believe everyone has been approached. And let me make this perfectly clear, Justice for Victims - it is IMPOSSIBLE to look at a postcode and know if someone was going to get a reduction or not, as without seeing my property, they would not have known I was under-paying, maybe you should look into things thoroughly before contradicting yourself and dishing out false advice to others as in my opinion, you are obviously not aware of all of the facts!!
- Justice for victims replies to READ EVERYTHINGThis is no hate campaign.do you want to meet me.i will give you a list of people who have been scammed by this company.i do not believe a word you tell me.this let me tell you is not going to go away.rest assured.

- Justice for victims replies to READ EVERYTHING| 4 repliesDon't come onto this site and tell me it is none of my business.i am warning people not to use this company.only two weeks ago an acquaintance had a phone call from this company telling him that his rates were too high.they sent him a contract to sign with an upfront payment of seven hundred pounds.he signed the contract but I got him to change his mind.why.the toning level had already been set for the parade.also his rateable value was lower than his rent as at April 2008.other appeals had already been dismissed by the vt on this parade.there was never any chance of getting a reduction.do I make myself clear.
- Nan replies to Justice for victimsWell said. Samall businesses are having a hard enough time at present without being scammed by the "business rate" con med.
- READ EVERYTHING replies to Justice for victims| 2 repliesI never said it was none of your business posting your opinion on this site. It is none of your business why I posted on this site. Now, why would they post a contract without seeing the property and knowing whether any changes had been made which would mean an increase in payments? If me, they, or anyone else done an appeal for me my rates would go up so your comment does not correspond with what happened with me. Can you please forward a copy of this contract they sent? Can you please also forward the other 2 forms which were sent and confirm how they were sent to your "acquaintance", if they were sent at all....
- Justice for victims replies to READ EVERYTHINGThank you for confirming that you work for this company.it is obvious from your last message.have you read all the other posts.your reaction means i am getting to you.well good.this year i promise all these firms will be brought to justice.however what I would like is for you firm to sue me.any chance.remember I have enough evidence.what I find about this firm and your posts confirm it is their sheer arrogance.oh by the way you still haven't confirmed where your so called premises are.
- Justice for victims replies to READ EVERYTHINGJust finally why would I send you a copy of the contract if you don't work for this firm.what I would suggest is you go through possible clients who have recently cancelled their contracts that should be a clue.
- SmileyI have had a funny feeling about this company from our first phonecall. They stated we were owed a rate refund, however, when I stated we had only very recently had one from our council, they were straight back with a response of 'we can get you some more' (but didn't seem to know anything about it), we aren't a big company and haven't been in these premises for that many years so I then felt a scam in the making. We have now had a letter asking for them to proceed with the appeal but want £695.00 + vat up front and then a final fee of £25% which I find hilarious because we would certainly have to get some cash back to make this worthwhile, and when we equate what we have had back already and our new rates value we would surely be on a loss!!! I have today cancelled any follow up, so await with baited breath what the outcome will be......... thank god I googled and convinced my boss it was a scam!!!

- Jessica| 14 repliesWe're currently getting calls from this company on a daily basis - a lady who gave her name as Miss Taylor, who has absolutely no customer service skills and is so rude. She constantly asks to speak to my boss who actually is never in the office when she calls, today she called and asked to speak to our office manager as my boss wasn't here, when told I could transfer her she said 'ummmmm no actually, it is really is your boss I need to speak to' - WHY ASK THEN?! When challenged that we were not interested and would not be paying any money, she got really rude.
Has anyone actually taking this company to court? Or what has happened if you've signed something that you were TRICKED into signing??- Caller: SJ Associates

- Justiceforvictims replies to Jessica| 13 repliesIf you sign a contract where they have told you a lie as to why your rateable value is too high you can sue on misrepresentation.
- Jessica replies to Justiceforvictims| 12 repliesSo if the contract was signed after my boss was tricked into, by a very vague man who actually said there would be no charge until measurements had been taken - no one has taken any. Shouldn't we have been left a copy? And isn't there a cooling off period?
Or is that the ploy? Don't leave a contract so you can't fully read it and change your mind within the cooling off period? - Justice forvictims replies to Jessica| 11 repliesThere is a cooling off period.usually fourteen days.what is the upfront payment.probably seven hundred pounds.if the appeal is accepted it means absolutely nothing.any professional rating surveyor will know if there is any chance of success from the outset.would you be prepared to tell me where the shop is.you have got to ask them the reason why they feel there should be a reduction.you can ask me anything.
- Jessica replies to Justice forvictims| 10 repliesWe haven't paid anything up front, apparently something was signed - but if it was a contract, we haven't been given a copy. But now we are being told there is an outstanding balance on our account!
We have actually spoken to the people who deal with building rates directly, and they have said 99% of appeals will be granted - but when they come and measure it is more than likely the rates would go up as they currently have in correct measurements of our building.
