It might interest you to know that as a collection agency, they will normally have 'purchased' the debt from a loan company - this being the case tell them to take you to court or stop contacting you otherwise you will proscute them for harrassment

as you have no knowledge of the company and your contract was with someone else - you are NOT responsible for the debt to them

Hi, Just had the same, wouldn't say who they were, but wanted my name, address and DoB before they would say anything else. Advised them as to how the world works. PS I have no debts.

They called our house and asked for my partner, which they have now done numerous times. I told them she is at work, so they said can they leave a number to get her to call back. I responded asking who was calling before i took down any number, they would only say it was of a personal nature and they could not say to me, only to my partner. I simply told them that if they cannot even say who is calling then i would not take down any number from them, so they said they would call back. A quick 1471 told me who it was obviously, along with an internet check on the number.
This is the 6th time this has happened in a number of months.

A long time ago we did have a debt that we had with them and paid it off in full under extreme duress. They added charges that cannot possibly have been true, but we felt completely backed into a corner and were scared of even more charges accruing.

As of now we do not owe them, or anybody else for that matter anything at all, not even small debt. So as far as I'm concerned they have no business calling us again. They are a horrible company who used bully tactics and threats galore and as far as I'm concerned outright illegal tactics. I wish we had been in a better position at the time in both finances and frame of mind to stick up for ourselves, because they completely took us for a ride, but never again. They are full of it and I have all the sympathy in the world for anyone who has to deal with these subhuman beings.

got three calls on sunday between 8.00am to 9.00pm.Also 2 phone calls on monday,this time a message was left which seemed odd from a women not saying where she was from or even mentioning me by my name.Thought it was odd so googled telephone number,so glad that i did

Received a call  12.15  Thurs 11th July 2013  and again 15.7.13 @ 17.12 - both occasions I was at work so did  not take the call - left silent voicemails :(

These people actually help. If you listen to them, they actually have to do a job to do. They helped my by contacting someone who could help. I also had another balance I did not owe, the took every detail and looked into it for me. They aren't bullies. Maybe if you all paid your bills, and stopped being so defensive and gave these people a chance, you would learn something. Honestly, like get off your backside and get a job to pay your bills. These people are obviously working to pay their own, maybe your should to. Telling them to "[***] off" and be abusive won't do anything, your playing with time. Get a grip on your life and be responsible. If you don't owe any money, these people know what they are talking about. It will only reflect badly on you and you look like a knob that doesn't pay their bills.

Also, they do NOT have to tell you where they are calling from if it is not the person they are trying to contact. They can break laws by doing this. So don't think you have one up on them by dialling 1471. THEY have broken no rules, its basic data protection for any dummy.

Collection Agency's don't purchase debts. THEY COLLECT debts on someones behalf.

Ar. Reasonable of course these companies purchase the debts! Specifically rossendales! Do you honestly think the likes of barclays, abbey,natwest etc would want to be associated with scum like rossendales??????

Con artists, say you owe money but they can't tell you what it's for.

Received 4th call on my mobile from 01706 833 772 (6/7/13; 16/7/13;25/7/13 & 7/8/13). Same message from a woman (automated) saying that Rossendale had tried to contact me and to call them back on this number.  I did call back on 1st occassion but teh person I spoke to couldn't identify why they had called and was reluctant to answer when I asked what business they were in - he eventually siad they were debt recovery. I am ignoring all other calls from this lot.

I have been getting phone calls from these people for months. I have no debt and have never been in debt if I cant afford it I don't buy it. I have asked them to leave me alone but still they keep on phoning (at very inconvenient times I might add) so in the end I told them to F**k off as they had woken me up yet again. They may be a very good firm I do not know as I do not need them as I am not in debt.
