It is an automated call from a collection agency.

Just had a call from this lot, asked for someone not known at this number then proceed to offer to remove my number from they're lists provided I supplied my full name and address ...

Told them to go away in short sharp jerks and pressed the 'Block Now' button on my call blocker.

I've also reported them to the Call Prevention Register ...

damn called me at 7 in the morning !

These  buggers called me all day every half hour, surely thats harrasment!

'on a personal matter' .... asked what is personal matter related to? ....You need to confirm address for security. I asked which company? .... ROSSENDALES. Apparently they were supposed to have sent me a letter .... non received .... then asked to confirm my address for a 2nd copy to be sent .... NO, where is your company based? .... Rossendale ..... never heard of you, bye bye

even more weird is that the number came up not as 01706833778, but under a friends number in my phone book which although matches the first 3 and last 5 numbers, should not be easily confused

Trying to collect on a expired order. SIX years out of date.

They always phone my mobile which I keep on silent. They have left like 4 voicemails asking me to call them back. I told my gran about it and she said not to call them back as you'll end up paying for phoning a premium number, and that also never to give any details about yourself, your bank details or even your postcode over the phone to them.

Just really pisses me off that I get these [***] stupid voicemails all the god damn time from them!!!

I have received phone calls from this company asking my to confirm my name and address. I say every time that I will not give person details to a company and or person I do not know. They say they know my details and have to confirm it for DPA. Then say I should of received letters from them, which I have had nothing. Was a bit worried someone has taken a debt out in my name as they clearly don't have my address, but that of someone elses. I read alot of these post and from what i can see it may be a bit of a scam to get money out of me.

Just started a company. Purchased new number from Skype. Put it on my website. Immediately started getting voicemails from these leeches.  Clearly I don't owe them (or anyone) a penny and they've just crawled the internet for any phone numbers that aren't already in their database - probably to try and scare people into believing that they owe this company money.  Even if you have debts, I would be highly suspicious of whether or not calls from this company are related to those debts.

Got an answer machine message from them the day before yesterday, saying they will ring back. They rang back yesterday and asked for some woman I had never heard of.  I said "you have the wrong number" She then asked if my address was in some road I had never heard of and I replied "No it isn't"  She asked where my address was and I said, "in England"  She put the phone down.  I didn't know who was calling. She didn't say who they were. At first I thought it was a genuine wrong number as my number is similar to a local pharmacy and I do sometimes get wrong number calls.  However, when she started asking addresses and trying to get personal information I knew something was wrong

Regularly got calls from these parasites, they have no chance of personal info over the phone but won't write and ask for it either. Best way, use your call package and keep ringing the number, stay silent and they know what number you,re ringing from, they soon get p'd off and stop ringing you lol x

When I was unemployed I struggled to pay water rates. Once I was employed again I contacted United Utilities to make them aware that once the council had worked out rent and council tax I would start to pay. Instead of waiting for my payment they handed it over to Rossendales Collect. I pay my water rates through Internet banking and have never once dealt with Rossendales. I will soon be rid of bill. As on water meter now and billed 6 monthly. Hence the back log on payments. But they call daily on this number 5-6 times and today I received a text to call Tracy. I will not be calling, next month I won't owe a penny. United utilities will be getting a letter regarding constant harassment of their debt collectors.

also got a call from them at 9 o'clock asking for my husband. She wouldn't give me information what the call was about. when i asked her for her number her reply: you'll see in on your display. i went on googled it.  i know now- seeing all the comments on here!

I received an call from this number. Initially it was silent with no response to me, then after several seconds a recorded message telling me it was Rossendales Collect and that they weren't able to contact me and asked if I could call them back!  Idiots, if they couldn't contact me, how was I supposed to get their message/request to call them?

I received a call from this number and I called it back, the operator didn't ask who I was but took my number to search what it came up with, she came back on the line and told me the name of the person that number was originally under. I got my phone number from Virgin when I moved from my other propery and wanted to change my house number to stop these calls, now I have been landed with this number that everyone and their dog keeps phoning and asking for the person who had it previously, but having asked her politely to remove my number from the database, she apologised for disturbing me today and said she would remove it, I will see if I get any more calls from them looking for this person.

Yes they are Rossendales, yes they are a Debt collection agency, they work for the council collecting unpaid council tax, as well as other debts. I have had dealings with them as I had council tax arrears. Actually polite when sorting out my situation, get texts the day before my payment is due. If you don't have debts then there's no issue. I'm guessing the silent calls are to get you to call back at your cost. At least it's not an 0873 number
