I missed a call at 8.30 this morning  from 01706833772 they didn't leave a message.,

Thinking it may be something important as my son had gone to London yesterday, I did a 141 and rung the number and the automated voice informed me it was, Rosendale collect.

This meant nothing to me so immediately googled it and found this page along with other possibles of debt collectors.

From what I can gather they are randomly making calls, but to what purpose? And this has been going on since 2009, from what I have seen on this forum at least.

Why is there no law, I'm assuming there is no law, to prevent these unsolicited calls? and why dont the companies who provide the phone service to these immoral people, take action themselves.

Who is the phone company? It is after all a land-line... any one out there able to check?

i think its joke as its my 16 yr old son that has been getting calls and he only had the phone for christmas

We have had three calls from these people since November.  First time I wasn't in, the second time my 8 year old daughter answered and they asked for someone she'd never heard of.  She gave the phone to my husband but they hung up.  Third time was last night when I missed them by a matter of minutes.  Extremely infuriating.  We are ex-directory and so I don't know where they are getting our number, except if they are just dialling randomly.  Very annoying.

this company keeps ringing me and sayin i owe them money when i don't

Over the past 7 days I have received numerous calls from this number, one of which connected me with a caller (they did not give a comnpany name) who asked to speak to a Gentleman.I explained that I was not a gentleman and the name they asked for was not my own.  Have had 2 missed calls and 1 silent call from them since, the last call wend onto an answering machine, so at least I am now aware of who these people are.  Getting rather cross to say the least.

These people have just called me asking for my partner, I explained that he wasn't in and asked who was calling, the man on the other end refused to tell me which company he was calling from and simply said his name was "Scott" he kept telling me it was a private matter and then said he would call back another time and hung up!

I received a call from this number at 13.02 on 9/2/12, but when I answered the caller hung up.

I have recieved a call of this number 01706833772 and asked for me i replied "speaking" the guy said his name was andrew and that he wanted me to give my address and date of birth which i replied i will supply them when i know who they are and what is it regarding they said they required my address to see if it matches what they had on there system before they say what it is regarding so i refused to give my details but is that a good idea or bad idea

The caller will just ring then hang up! then he/she will ask for a person that does not live at this address....It's getting on my nurves.

I have received 2 calls from this number, 1st call thursday 8.53am and 2nd call friday 19.54pm, googled this number as have no idea who they were, found out on this site that it is Rossendale Collections, I have no idea who they are or what they want.  As far as I am concerned I owe no debts and have had no letters from this company prior to the phone calls.  My home number is registered with the TP service so I wonder how they got it.  Should I give them any info if I manage to speak to them, confused, thanks for the help.

Just had my first call from these guys 17:30, 23rd Feb 2012,  just as well I dont anwser calls from numbers I dont know. Glad i googled the number!.

Again and again I have had calls from this number. Usually they hang up but sometimes they ask for some random person. Today they have called twice and on the second occasion when the woman on the other end of the phone asked for a certain person, I responded with "now why would you want to speak to someone whom, you clearly know, does not live here"? I did not wait for her answer but hung up.

Anyone know how I can eradicate this nuisance caller? I am ex-directory, but it seems that means nothing any more.

This company (rossendales) have been officially appointed as debt collectors for the HMRC so to all those recieving a call you may be owing tax, watch out guys because the government are collecting!

Person on line (they left a message - I have given up answering the phone immediately thanks to cretins like this, especially at 8 o'clock in the evening!) left his name as Lee, with a personal message for someone who doesn't live and never has done at my house asking for a return call on 0844 701 3990, which is Rossendales Ltd, a company of bailiffs.

Lee, get your information right, or get a job you can actually do right - it's a good job Rossendales don't admit to having an e-mail address . . .

a couple of times a week they ring, and no ones ever spoken 01706 833772 i put this into google and this is how i was redirected to this site

We are registered with TPS so why they are ringing me is beyond me , we dont owe any debt nor do we know who they are

its bloody annoying and surely its harassment ? if i rang someone regularly with silent phone ca;;s id get arrested for being a stalker .....
