- Pieter Huistra replies to Jane| 1 replyJohn McDonnell, the so-called socialist boasting about his £60,000 salary needs to go. Especially when so many people are struggling on a minimum wage. While he's off to Detroit, New York and LA; we are all stuck in the UK.
- Jemma D replies to My Beautiful EyesYou'd be better off telling them to jump ship to Optegra. Optegra are the kings of laser eye surgery and award-winning refractive treatments such as Clarivu are setting a new standard of care. Check out the results on Trustpilot etc. This time next year they'll be the market leaders.
Plus they don't engage in unsolicited email and text message spam like some of the brands spoken about here.

Life-changing. Best feeling in the world. Take any orgasm you've ever had. Multiply it by a thousand and you're still nowhere near it. It beats any meat injection. That beats any furking specs in the world.- Caller: Optegra vs Optimax Reviews
- Dean Kantis replies to Mrs Allison Hector| 1 replyI don't feel the dry eyes yet, but it's in the post. That's for sure. I'm in the LASIK limbo at the moment. Too ill to sleep. Too tired to stay awake, but the MGD is on its way. Sweat, chills, nausea. Pain and craving. A need like nothing else I've ever known will soon take hold of me. It's on its way.
- Vasco replies to Dean KantisResearch in Boston, Virginia has demonstrated that methylenedioxymethamphetamine is the newest alternative pain relief drug that relieves the pain associated with MGD according to the research papers. Not sure if you can get it prescribed on the NHS, you'd be better asking your GP if they do.
- RingARoses| 2 repliesIt’s been a while since Trustpilot was under the spotlight, but they’ve just invited themselves right back on stage!
Last month I posted a factual negative review concerning the problems I'd experienced after purchasing a faulty phone from an eponymously named refurb phone company.
The company complained, and because they pay to advertise on Trustpilot I was asked to edit my review - again, and again, and again…
Whittled down the review had become worthless and was (still is) being assessed, so I decided to post again and omit all the (true) facts that Trustpilot wouldn’t allow, but within minutes the refurb phone company had complained about the second post too (also now being assessed.
With no good reason to ask me to edit my second post Trustpilot instead asked me to provide proof of purchase. I did.
Yesterday Trustpilot asked me to edit my review - but which one? Assuming it was the first, I replied that I had, and they asked me for a screenshot. But strangely the link they sent doesn’t allow me access to either of my reviews!
Keeping a close eye on the refurb phone page I’ve noted more negative reviews posted, and very quickly removed!
And, as with Optimax reviews on Trustpilot, as soon as there’s a negative there’s a flurry of positives.
A ‘Verified Order’ is meaningless btw, click on it to read that the company in question ’invited' the alleged purchaser to write the review! (Not sure how I earned that accolade)
I decided to post a review about Trustpilot ON Trustpilot, and while surprised that it was not deleted I had to laugh at their prince.
Invited to 'discuss any of these point [sic] further’, being very keen to meet with the Trustpilot management to discuss ’these point’ in person, I did visit their contact centre, but I haven’t even had an acknowledgement!
Let’s see how long before a positive one appears, possibly not until the morning when everyone’s back in the office!
If I had nothing else to do I think commercially supported review sites would definitely be something I’d fight against. It should be illegal to allow paying advertisers to censor honest reviews and post fake ones, this is blatant fraud.
In fact, the ASA agree, "The Advertising Standards Authority said: "The strict Advertising Code prohibits advertisers from falsely claiming or implying they are acting as a consumer … companies should also be aware that the practice of posting fake reviews is likely to be illegal (under consumer protection regulations), and could be subject to investigation by Trading Standards or the Office of Fair Trading."

You can all hell!
If you had any problems after refractive eye surgery, or a fight to get your deposit refunded, please post a factual review on Trustpilot, Reviewcentre, Reviews.co.uk, Yelp and Feefo on the relevant Optimax page. Take a screenshot and keep a record of any subsequent correspondence from Trustpilot and so on.
Please post any updates here, or contact me with details to forward to the ASA!
Meanwhile, while I continue to fight off my friends’ persistent attempts to persuade me to get an ‘all-singing, all-dancing’ model, and to bin my much loved Nokia 3210 - held together by an elastic band after ive dropped one so many times (3 times in my garden pond!), if anyone knows where I can buy a replacement, please let me know!
Will try to catch up at the weekend...

- Caroline Optimax Damaged Patient replies to RingARoses| 1 replyWorst experience of my life
The treatment on my then healthy eyes left me with permanent life changing injuries, and after years of suffering, my eyes are now getting even worse. Pain/ terrible eyesight. I went to this company because they said that they would provide a lifetime of aftercare, yet I have been left to pay all of my many eye related expenses myself. I believe another Optimax review was removed from here because Optimax claimed the patient was not on their records? I certainly am and can prove it, as the other victim can. The lifetime aftercare guarantee is not true.
Caroline as told to Trustpilot. - Tilly O'Hara replies to Caroline Optimax Damaged PatientWearing glasses after 2 years
Started off great, helpful and friendly. Had my surgery on a Saturday and was given a phone number if I needed anything over the next few days. Nobody answered this number. Then when the shop reopened on Monday I called them for more pain relief, got told someone would call me back.. It's been 2 years 4 months still no phone call!
I'm now wearing glasses again. Waste of time, money and a lot more painful than I was told it would be! - Robbie Winters replies to Pieter HuistraJohn McDonnell spotted in his alleged "hometown" of Liverpool. If he cared about the working classes of this beautiful city he would live and work here but he's too obsessed with earning big bucks in London. Scab.
- Adversary| 2 repliesI simply had to LOL out loud when I read about the unofficial unveiling of Suzuki's latest car, the Rodoymobile.
Of course Sasha Rodoy needs a sidekick and that means there's a role there for Jimmy B Goode.
Don't be mistaken for thinking that this crime-fighting duo, taking on evil business owners are the good guys because they have been engaged in cyberbullying of their own Adversary.
Now then Sasha Rodoy claims Optimax damaged her eyes that badly see now needs 25 pairs of glasses to function properly. I hope that doesn't mean she takes to the wheel of the Rodoymobile without being able to see properly [especially at night] because that would be dangerous to other road users.
But of course the Rodoymobile would have its own alarm to warn unsuspected pedestrians, instead of a standard beep beep noise, the customised Rodoymobile would sound MeMe MeMe!!!- Caller: Sasha Rodoy OERML & My Beautiful Eyes Advisory & Patient Advocate
- Sean Archer replies to AdversaryI wish someone had explained the potential risks of cosmetic surgery to me.
After the death of my son, work-related stress and with going through a difficult marriage, I decided I needed a facelift to solve my problems.
Initially it worked well but then I ran into more family difficulties, my daughter become a smoking tearaway and I ended up in jail, depressed beyond tablets.
The worst of it all, is that I was stuck with this new look. Who on god's earth wants to look like Castor Troy?
Just think before you do it yourself. - Serindipity replies to AdversaryI'm gonna put on an iron shirt and chase the Optimax out of earth.
- Brian FinchI need to speak to a medical compensation firm, can this My Beautiful Eyes group help me?
Taking NZT-48 Ruined My Life, at first the drug worked well but now I can't sleep, have constant headaches, erectile dysfunction and feelings of nausea.
Please please please let me get what I want. Lord knows it would be the first time.

- SophieBad Vibes
I went for a consultation with Optimax and was then given numerous basic eye tests by two girls (Not the optician). They both seemed really inexperienced and slack asking each other what to do all the time with the machines. It even got to the point where at they pushed the machine into my eye and didn't even notice until I mentioned it. As I was already quite nervous before even attending my consultation, as you can imagine this just made me feel worse about the whole thing and nearly left then. Also I found the clinic itself to be quite dated in contrast to the advanced clinic I was expecting. It just looked a bit tired.
I will say the optician I eventually saw was competent and nice and the surgeon who would've been performing my procedure was very experienced. But to be honest it's the overall experience and just made me feel unconfident in them as a laser eye surgeon. Needless to say I will be looking into other providers for my procedure.

- Caro replies to John McDonnell MP| 1 replyWhy is John McDonnell standing about outside a stupid steal plant when he can be doing someone to enforce the regulation of laser eye surgery? John McDonnell should remember he would be NOTHING without MBE and it's about the time he started pulling his wait. Just remember Johnny boy, what hoes up must hoes down and not only have you made the bed that you will have to lie on, if your insubhotent behaviour continues you may find someone pees on the mattress while you is note looking.
- Sebastian replies to My Beautiful Eyes Campaign ScamSorry to interrupt but I urgently need to find out if Gaël Clichy has an uncle who worked as a cobbler in Toulouse. Can you confirm?
- Pepe Mujica replies to CaroAgreed. John McDonnell is a rocket.

This is how it should be done
• The patient meets the surgeon in person long before a scheduled operation (excluding emergencies)
• The surgeon alone recommends which operation is best for the patient, not a member of the nursing team or office staff - and certainly not a ’counsellor’ on commission!
• The surgeon verbally explains the purpose and proposed benefits of the surgery to the patient, and possible complications - ALL of them!
• On the day of the operation both surgeon and anaesthetist visit the patient pre-op to ensure they are fully informed, when ALL possible complications are explained and discussed BEFORE asking the patient to sign consent.
attention attention, long forgotten
The surgeon always checks how is the patient doing post-op the next day, not an optometrist, not a member of the nursing team or office staff - and certainly not a ’counsellor’ on commission!- Caller: smooth operator
- Eddie Eagle Laser Eye SurgeryEddie the Eagle is known as a laughing stock in England. A pathetic, incompetent so-called sportsman who blundered his way to mediocrity in his sport.
How fitting then, that he links up with Optimax. Great minds think alike but fools seldom differ. The fact that this is the best 'celebrity' endorsement they have says more about them than it does this embarrassment to English sport.
Now they are working together to make a TV ad due to the recent comedy of the man's work. The marketing people at Optimax must be lazy, incompetent and desperate if this is the best they can do to promote their laser eye surgery treatments?
