- Neil| 1 replyI also had a phone call from this number this morning. Turns out it's from the hounds at Iqor debt collectors. Got an answering machine first when I called back but within seconds one of their operatives picked up and asked for a ref.no.

- maryI had a call at 8.30pm tonight from them. They seem to try under a few different guises of different numbers
- Caller: IQOR
- Call type: Debt collector
- lilibear| 3 repliesThey have phoned and text me a few times over the last few days and I am sure that it cost me money when I answered the call - rang them from the landline and they would only tell me the name of company IPOR - they asked for a reference at first and only told me the name of the company when I insisted - would not tell me the reason for the call or what the company's buisness was.
- Caller: IPOR
- LC| 1 replyGot a call asking for my old Business. After a bit of back and forth they stated they were HM revenue and customs and would ask me some security questions. Due to the way they started the conversation I asked 'How I could be sure it was HMRC?' To which they replied 'You can deal with it in a letter then we will send you' and hung up. I suspect not HMRC but who knows.
- tiffin replies to lilibear| 1 replyI think you are right about being charged a lot of money when you ring them. I decided to ignore the one I had but picked up a couple of calls from them. They asked me if my name was something intelligible and I told them they had the wrong person. They just want to leave a message in the hope that you will ring back.
- nd| 17 repliesThis lot are claiming to be from HMRC.
I told them I needed to verify that they were the HMRC and ended the call.
I found no evidence anywhere that this number is linked to HRMC. I also noted that when they called the second (of 8) times, that I could hear a call centre behind them. I have never had such a call, with call centre in the background, from HMRC.
Surely claiming to be from HMRC, especially in order to obtain personal information, is a criminal offence?
I have attempted to raise this with the HMRC fraud people, they did not seem to be interested at all - bizarrely!
I am currently pursuing this through data protection/fraud channels with - I have also attempted to move up the food chain with HMRC but they are quite shockingly uninterested and have passed the buck.
Incredible how this is allowed to continue, is there no law enforceable left in the UK - or is it just what one can get away with.
I am no on a mission, I'm going to have this lot, now it's personal ')- Caller: I believe this is company mentioned in these posts -
- ricoGot 2 calls from this number...caller hung up and did not speak
- susan merryThese are iqor and deal with money owed to paypal. They are harrassing pain in the necks. I get at least 5 calls a day from them. My responses are getting more and more profane. I'm sick of them.

- harrassed1961This is IQOR - paypals collection agency. Paypal didnt have a number for me so IQOR went to directory enquiries and got my brothers phone no, he lives in a different city to me and Paypal have said they passed my details including my address to them. So why they didnt just get my number from directory enquiries I dont know. Now my brother knows that I have a debt collection agency chasing me for a 36 pence underpayment. I have complained to Paypal but they are not interested at all. And Iqor really dont give a toss when I complain to them. Who do I go to next?

- johnny bigguns replies to ndThese people buy age old debts from HMRC and other government bodies including credit companies mine was a debt over 16 years old, and it is against the law for them to pursue it in the courts if it is over 6 years old and no contact was made in that 6 years(5 years in Scotland).the best people to turn to is the OFT they are very interested in this company, and the calls will soon stop ,believe me.
there is plenty of template emails stating the law back to them and tell them they are breaking the law including harrassment, they will back off - worried oapIm so pleased that I took my son in laws advice and googled this no, my life has been hell since before Christmas and until now. Since Jan 3rd I have had 9 calls as early as 8am on a Sat morning until 8pm. My husband died 2yrs ago and Im on my own and Im afraid to answer my phone so thank you google for making an old lady able to sleep better tonight but how do I stop these calls???
- Barbara79 replies to nd| 10 repliesI had a dealing with IQOR in late January as i owed them money for outstanding PAYE tax, which i paid them over the phone (£2300). They are a call centre which is why it sounds like a callcentre, they're not calling from HMRC they're calling on there behalf which they advised me.
You have to confirm certain details for Data Protection (which they have to stick to as its the law).
The reason HMRC wouldnt have been interested in listening is because IQOR is a legit company who has been working on behalf of HMRC aswell as other companys (DWP, Paypal, HBOS etc) for a long time.
People posting a load of rubbish on here is just going to make people get into more debt by not paying what they owe. If you dont owe anything, talk to them and it will get sorted dont ignore it or listen to people who dont know what there talking about.
This is the HMRC website which states who acts on their behalf;
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/payinghmrc/debtcollectors/
This is the Department for Work and Pensions Website alos showing who acts on there behalf;

- JASON replies to ndTry contacting BBC. There are programmes like rogue traders and watch dog which deal with fraud. Only thing BBC will ask you for a minimum part of the show. I have have had a lot of nuisance calls and have become a victim of one last year. I am tempted to inform the bbc about such calls on the landline as well as mobile telephone and take their suggestions if any.
- smThanks for the post -, this does seem to be a scam. Do not respond to them
