After receiving many calls from this company all apart from 1 today missed, I was very startled to learn who they are. I had to ask the quite rude woman who they were four times before she very abruptly spelt the name out to me. She informed me the call was recorded and that I should confirm my address details I refused to do this as I said I have never heard of the company before. The woman then insisted that they had written to me three months ago, I told her as I had never heard of them then I obviously have never received any letter. I also informed her if they HAD written to me as she had stated then they would have my address details so I had no need to confirm. She then told me they NEED to speak to me but as I won't confirm my details they can't continue. Oh well never mind!!

Silent call this morning before 9.
Owe nothing, refuse to have credit cards.
No idea why they called, or what pretence they were adopting.
Another reason I don't answer until I hear a voice I know or expect.
    TPS does little.

This number is from akinika debt recovery and this company has been given private details from the UK government to pursue debts owed to Dept Social Development for a loan, what was known as a "Crisis Loan" when a person needed funds to get emergency clothing etc when they lost their job.
Extremely surprised that this information is not covered by the Data Protection Act when the same government fight tooth and nail to prevent data getting out under the Freedom of Information Act. Double standards?

As a debt collection company they still buy the debts or pennies on the pound, making huge profits, you do not actually owe them the total amount because they bought it cheaper, ask yourself one question, how can a company, any company be able to sell a debt so cheap and still make a profit.

Also, OFT 664 clearly outlines unfair practices which this company are in breach of, whether or not they are affiliated to any government body is irrelevant, a crime is a crime is a crime. [Whether it be harassment under the harassment act 1997, or breach of consumer regulations 2008].

Being affiliated to a government body is actually worse for them as as this amounts to their services being that of a public function, and, as such the human rights act applies to this hybrid for of public body.

This company acts for PAYPAL as well. PAYPAL make decisions as to whether you have to refund buyers on EBAY. PAYPAL are not in any position to decide whether you owe money or not, they have no jurisdiction on personal debt. They are NOT the law. I have asked  akinika to take me to court, as i have proof in my favour, proof that PAYPAL ignored. If Akinika do decide to take me to court, they will lose because i have all the evidence i need. I will then sue Akinika for harassment, defamation of character etc, etc. & i can ensure them my claim will be far more substantial than they want from me. Bring it on!.

This is IQOR and they ARE a collection agent for HMRC, albeit not a very good one. I had dealings with them last year and there was lots of passing the buck between the HMRC and IQOR as no one seemed able to confirm what the debt was for nor did they ever send me any proof.

The vile way your company chases hard pressed people needs to stop. If you stopped harassing poor people for a couple of quid. Listen to them,& you might get a response. You must spend more in phone harassment than what you are owed in some cases. Try a compassionate approach to peoples problems & you might have some success!. Your reply in itself is a cheap attempt to claw at some one. You have one thing in mind, MONEY!.

    OMG whatafarce
These are a collection service working on behalf of a number of companies including HMRC. This does not allow them to take the guise of these companies and they should be reported as harassment callers. They call our out of hours number at 8pm asking to speak to the director of the company. Guess what a 24hr business does not mean the director is available 24hrs. Idiots, why not call in business hours before the phones are switched to the after hours service?

They've changed their name to Akinika and 'phone at all hours of the day and night.

They are debt collectors for HMRC and appear to be breaking the laws on harrassing debtors at their place of work.
