I was allocated the phone number that had belonged to a couple who seem to have run into debt.  I've been absolutely hounded for four years by just about every debt collection agency in Britain and abroad.  I hate these people with a passion now.  The joy is that, as they are adamant they are calling Mr and Mrs Whatever, I'm free to abuse them.  I don't mean that I do that the first time they call.  I mean, when I have saved their number, when they are calling me for the tenth time that week, when they have refused to take my number off their system unless I give them my own details, I can tell the little twits who are intent on causing misery either to me - a complete stranger - or that poor couple who maybe lost their job or something to p*** off.  They are the only people who call my landline these days and my handset is on silent and I've left a message saying it's not the right number for that couple and I'm registered with the TPS.  I really sympathise with people who have run into financial difficulty and have to deal with these people.

I called this number back after reading this thread. Surprisingly spoke to Mr. Riaz like a previous poster. He asked for my reference number I didn't have one so gave him my phone number. He asked for my name but I said I wanted to know who he wanted to speak to before I confirmed my number. He asked for a name I had never heard which a told him and he took me off the database. It seems they are trying to be less shady these days. Hopefully they won't call back!

i owe an old crisis loan to the dss or dwp and was contacted about it by dwp about 6 months before i started getting these calls and texts at all hours also, i just keep ignoring there calls, if you have got an old debt and you want to pay it contact who you owe it to and make a reduced offer or low weekly payments because this lot of chancers are probably taking 50% of any money they get back anyway but personally  they are getting nothing off me.

My question is, if you're legitimate, why behave like you're NOT?!? Don't hang up as I pick up, ya dumb@$$e$!!!

I too am being pestered by this company.  I am getting up to 6 phone calls a day from them over the last few weeks.  They ask for some guy I have never heard of.  They hang up when I tell them they've got wrong number, but they keep calling again.  I have had continuing problems with wrong numbers since I got my landline number 3 years ago, each time they ask for one of two names.  I am registered with TPS.  How can I stop this?  I am not phoning them back as it will cost me money.  I have now got caller ID as I am getting fed up with it.

Had a call from this number. They were asking me to verufy my security questions/details. Isn't it stupid to give anyone your personal details over the phone, and to whoever they may claim to be?????

Shouldn't we all refuse to give our personal information out?? Afterall they did phone me!!!

Had a call from this number on my mobile and landline asking for a person who has never lived at my addresss. I called them back but would not say who they were

Sorry but I am too lazy to read all the comments but I will give you my knowledge. This company is IQOR, they are huge, tey employ about 14000 people worldwide. Not sure how it works but they either buy or are passed old debts by bog companies and organisations whic they then chase in a fairly persistant manner, verging on nuisance calling. I have had one of their employees tell me they will call every day till I pay them. I receive about 5 to 10 calls and texts from them a week anything up to 9 at night. They are chasing me on behalf of HMRC over a disputed tax bill. They are easy to deal with because I refuse to confirm who I am. They have been chasing me for at least two years and I keep askin them to take me to court but they refuse. I hav etried every method of shaking them off to no avail. I have also had some huge fun winding them up. Its amazing how much verbal abuse they wil take befor ethey hang up. I am resigned to the fact that they will probably chase me forever but as I dont answer the phone to them and its easy to delete their messages I dont worry. I espacially dont worry because if they really wanted to chase the debt they would excalate the matter to legal proceedings and the fact that they havent clearly indicate sthat they are toothless tigers......hope i havent jinxed myself!!!

they have called me many times over the last week or so and never leave a message.  I am getting 3 or 4 calls a day from them and numerous calls from other numbers and I am suppose to be on the TPS so should not get any cold calls at all.
I am fed up with this and I agree nothing seems to done about these companies who disturb us at home and phone again and again and again.. good luck

They rang me aswell but i missed the call but when i called back did not give me the name of the company until i demanded

IQOR are debt collectors working on behalf of HMRC, according to a letter that came out of the blue last week. They rang just now, but nobody spoke - there was just the usual call centre background noise.

Sick of getting these calls - how did they get my number???!!

IQUOR are a debt collection agency, they called me about £58 I seemingly owe HMRC.
They were very cagey, and short tempered.

Rings 3 or 4 times a week - when they ring they ask for someone I've never heard of. I keep telling them that person has never had or used that number - These guys are just a goddam joke!!
