This is Akinika, chasing VAT payments for HMRC.
They blame HMRC for not being able to leave a message or explain themselves properly.
And the confusion/problems when people naturally take them as spam or fraud.
But probably love the extra they can charge, for the further action that results in!
More broken Britain in action... waste and a silly govt.

They have called landline several times leaving answer phone message saying it's a call for "easydoc" and to ring them back on this number quoting reference number 295009828. I have no intention of ringing them back.

I had a missed call from this number this afternoon and after reading all of the reports on here I was just going to block it with my BT8500. However, I called the number back and the operator was very courteous and explained she was seeking a Mr. A******* on behalf of the DWP. I explained my address is in a block of flats and I was not Mr. A*******. She apologised profusely and said my phone number would be removed from their database within 24 hours. She asked for no further information, not even my name/

To be honest, it did not sound the usual scam/phishing type of call.

It all sounded very genuine, but just in case, I have added their number to my blocked callers list.

Found this no. via 1471 as no-one answered when i picked up[which I rarely do].  Number is ex-directory.
I usually let calls go through until I hear a voice.
No debts.
No credit cards.

Sorry they may be a legit company but I don't totally believe what they say is true I answered a friends phone at 8.00am the other morning and they didn't say they were acting on behalf of someone but actually said they were from the DWP which I know to be wrong as I sorted my friends debt which was only small out months ago and I know they don't owe anything else.

Got a call from this number tonight at 19.52. When I looked it up seems to be a debt collection agency. Also got one from a company called Akinika which I barred. I do not have any debt

This company is now using 03005550285. Most of the time there is no one on the other end or it's a recorded message asking you to phone the 01772557642. Con men trying their luck. Not getting a penny from me, don't owe anything.

Just had a call from these guys claiming to be from the department for work and pensions. wouldn't confirm the reason for the call until I'd confirmed my DOB and post code. when i refused the moron who called me said 'just give me the details' i then asked him to speak to his supervisor, he said he was busy, so i asked him for a web address, he said it was down, i then asked him for an IP address that i could confirm his location. that's when he hung up on me. this is the third call from this number all claiming to be different companies.

First had a text  unable to text back and ask who they were then then followed a few days later 2 calls (one late evening and one early morning) on ringing back they asked for a reference number which I did not have  and then asked for my telephone number I questioned them as to who they were and why they would be calling - they would not give out any information at all apart from their name - I them do not give out my number or personal details and do not respond to unsolicited calls - have blocked their number - I have never dealt with a company who are so secretive this causes instant mistrust

had a call 8.15pm at fist line seemed dead then some person answered stating they where from the NHS asked for my details so i said go forth & multiply no one working for the NHS rings at this time of night then he said you will get a letter in the post about this contact .so i hung up scammers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
