HMRC hire scammers replies to Lynne
They are debt collecting on behalf of HMRC as barbara79 said, look at their list of debt collectors here:

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/payinghmrc/debtcollectors/

The trouble they sound and behave just like scammers, if it's not another silent call. I've ignored this for weeks believing them to be some kind of crooks. My accountant has now discovered this fact - decades after the event - a clerical error! It now seems HMRC is chasing 10/20 year old debts, one that I didn't even know I had and has now gained double the original amount in interest alone!!!!

Get in touch with HMRC immediately, NOT THIS IQOR LOT. I suspect (am certain in fact) that they get a big commission for collection, and it seems they're playing fast and loose with the law, not to mention common decency, in using deception to gain a profit.

I've just read that Vodafone has just been let off another couple of billion in tax, that's fair isn't it.

Well I'm out of business now, wish me luck on the dole everyone, I'll need it. Ironically they've only succeeded in losing more tax that I would have paid if they hadn't been so inflexible about settling it - instead they get me on the dole draining more taxes.

    Joined up government? Hah!

They may have been nice to you because you had the money to pay but alot of people who end up in collections is because they end up not being able to pay and if you dont have the money to give to iqor then they are very rude. Also there are many scams going around and people dont like to give out their personal information so maybe instead of being rude iqor could take this into consideration.

Listed number is for the iQor team dealing with government related debts. This can be HMRC, DWP or CSA and various matters branching from these three points.
Specifically if somebody has stated they are calling on behalf of these companies they are wrong and it can be reported, all calls are logged and recorded for this purpose.
We say we are calling on behalf of these companies as has been authorised to do so by the above.
These are legitimate matters that are trying to be resolved, either through payment or information to show the balance held is incorrect. They are not purchased debts.
My advice to anybody receiving calls from this number is to answer it, if it is a wrong number inform them of such and it will be removed if you state you have no connection to the person/business, if you know the person/business - take a message, and if you are the relevant person/business discuss the matter. If you want the wait for the letter first, that is fine, just state such and it will be on hold for a week at first. Keep in mind letters will be delivered to the registered address and may not be your current if you have moved and not updated with the above clients.

These miscreants keep phoning and asking for my address, if they know so much about me why do I have to give them their address and personal details? If they were legitimate they wouldn't phone up asking for personal details, they would have them. Caller says they represwent a company called Icore or icor but won't give any other details. Probable ID thieves.

Company refused to speak to me, having rung me, because I wouldn't give them my address!  Refused to say what the business does.  Some names I did get.  One of the Managers is apparently Danielle Wigg and one of the directors is a John Ricketts.  Appear to be based in Preston.  Companies house hs the following registered office for IQOR, which ties in with the address provided by yet another call this afternoon.

    IQOR LIMITED
    33-34 WINCKLEY SQUARE
    PRESTON
    LANCASHIRE
    PR1 3EL
    Company No. 01613010

The website www.iqor.com has a write up of various managers and directors but John Ricketts not listed as one of them.

I have found that Nataly Hollinworth is a Vice President and Head of UK Compliance

John Ricketts doesn't appear on the website but apparently attended school in Wilmslow and University in Hartford (in the US I think)  His birthday appears to be 29th July and he is named in Credit Today's Credit 100 list of People who have had the Greatest Impact in the UK Credit Industry for 2008 and 2010

They claim not to be a Sales or Marketing company when I spoke to someone there about the TPS but they do have a Sales & Marketing Director - Guy Berrington, who joined the company back in 2003, he is also based in the UK, he has previously worked for BT so you would think some of his people would have been briefed about the Telephone Preference Service.

Norm Merritt is listed as the CEO and President, he attended University at the Brigham Young University and has worked for an internet gaming company and Walt Disney

Joel Dehlin is the Chief Technology Officer and previously worked for the Church of Jesus Christ and Latterday Saints.

I first received a text from them asking me to contact them, I ignored that, then got a series of missed calls on my mobile and on house number when I got back on Friday night.  The phone would ring, I answered within two or three rings and the line was dead.

9.20 at night someone rang and remained on the phone to speak to.  A foreign accent, probably Indian who wanted to know if I was who I had just said I was on answering the phone and then asked for my postal address.  I wouldn't give it out, so he then said it was concerning a letter they had sent me on the Thursday (the call this morning claimed to have sent me a letter on the Friday and another one said on the Wednesday) I asked which address they had sent it to because I hadn't received anything, but they refused to tell me where they had sent it, but would speak to me when I had received it - some odd logic working here.

I mentioned the Telephone Preference Service/TPS, they had never heard of it!  I have reported it to the TPS, not expecting much from them, about to get on to Ofcom.  Also phoned BT who say the number 01772 557642 is not registered with any company and is probably a front for an overseas company.

I called the number this morning and after speaking to Mr Riaz, who would not say what the company does for buiness, advised that my home number which I quoted him was registered to the person I bought a flat from 20 years ago when I first started using that number! Otherwise they had no record of me!

These are IQOR. They are calling to collect non-payment of loans made to people through DHSS - or Work & Pensions as they are called now. If you have ever had a 'Hardship' loan or 'Cash Assistance' from the DHSS? They after getting you to pay back any balance that wasn't recovered through stopages of your Dole money. (Even if it's only £10.00) Work & Pensions have handed this 'dept' collection over to these folk because they can't be [***] to do it themselves.

As usual this government has thought the whole thing through. "We'll get someone else to do it!" Even though it is going to cost them more than what is owed to them. More Tax Payers money down the drain.

Just had a call on my land line from this number. When i said hello they hung up. After checking it out on line it appears this is a debt collecting agency called IQOR based in Preston. We have no idea why they would call as we have no debts owing. Has anyone had a similar experience, and what was the outcome?
