- MarnieI've just phoned this number back because they have been phoning me all day.... it's now 8.40pm.
I couldn't understand the automated answering machine before being put through to an "advisor". Very noisy in the background and offering better upgrades and tarriffs than anyone else around. Amazing. I asked where my details came from and I spoke to a "senior" who told me "my number is on a huge pool of other numbers who have a contract which is away to run out in 4 ot 6 months. They phoned mine ending in 214 and they wil phone the same number but ending 215, 216 etc of everyone's contract who's running out"
He then later said that "Splash is an authorised company and one of the top 5 sellers in the UK" (hang on, what about O2, Vodaphone, Orange etc?) He said "We supply them with the products and tarriffs then they sell to us the consumer"
After telling him I wasn't interested even though I'd phoned back he tried to get me to hear his sales pitch and I said no because I've just been on here to check the feedback and it's poor. He said they've had 2000 calls today adn 850 have been very happy customers. Obviously they haven't received the phone they've just shelled out for.
I had a company from Cardiff phone with phone insurance when I first got my contract and it was the same set up and was proved to be fraudulant when O2 looked into it.
Word of warning.... You have to renew your phone every year to TPS to stop getting marketing calls!- Caller: Splash
- Dan EastonI just got a call and they got as far as saying they're from Splash Online on behalf of 3, I said "Oh, fantastic" and just hung-up.
I've saved the number in my iPhone and just given it a specific ringtone - silent!- Caller: Splash Online/3
- RosieThey have recently started calling me too, usually when I'm in the middle of lectures. I'd just like to say that I too got a phonecall perhaps a week after signing up for my first ever contract at O2. The guy on the phone told me I was already paying insurance with O2 and that it was cheaper ordering it from them. He asked for my card details without even waiting for me to say no to the offer. I hung up and he rang back saying we'd been cut off. I hung up again and rang the company, asking that my details be removed and I heard nothing from anything like it until recently. I rang O2 and they said I was right, only they insure their phones and of course they don't charge you insurance unless you sign up for an insurance policy.
How these companies is getting this information I don't know. The insurance people told me they worked in line with O2, but that wasn't true. If you get rung up by any call centre, I'd advise you to end the call, jot down the number and get in touch with your network provider to verify the number. Never give out your details. - wwwHard to hear woman who called me as the call center must have hundreds operating in it but she stated she is from "Splash" and was calling about my mobile contract. I am with O2 and have never heard of this company so before it went any further I hung up and added the number to my contacts under the name "Do Not Answer". I now have 3 companies under the same sort of name so I know to ignore the calls and each calls me about 4-5 times a day!!

- jamiecalled me trying to get me to upgrade telling me that my contract was up soon and i needed to act now.
- AnonymousDoes anyone know if it charges to answer a call from this number? If not i am tempted to answer it and ask random qestions in response to everything they say such as - did you eat porridge for breakfast? or - When did you last paint your toenails green? Simply for my own amusement rather than telling them where to get off everytime as they ring me about 4 times a day!
- CarlyI have also had several calls from this number on so many seperate occasions- I once called and was asked to hold on the line for over 5 minutes-I soon hung up as started to think that it was a scam.
Received further calls and when dialled the number back, it rang and said I was going to be put on hold again!!
Very annoying!! - linthey have been calling me since OCTOBER!! now it's february. I had a strong argument with the guy from splash online about where they got my contact details from, and he said they have the right to my contact details as they have legally bought it! he wouldn't tell me where he bought it from tho. and then he had the cheek to tell me I should be more accepting like other customers. WHT!? have I not got a right over my own personal details?!! and I keep telling me I don't want a phone contract, but why do they keep calling
- j11They have called me 6 times in last 3 days. Each time the phone is silent and hangs up after a few seconds. Just now, someone finally spoke to me and said they were from Splash Mobile Online. I told them to stop calling me, and as i was registered with TPS they should stop calling me, or i will file legal action against them. The woman instantly became agressive saying that it wasn't their fault they were calling me, and when i signed up to o2 for my contract, i should have said that i didn't want my number list on an autodialler. I said i'd spoken to o2 and they had said they were nothing to do with Splash Mobile. She interrupted me - saying that of course they were nothing to do with o2 - she was just trying to upgrade my phone for me. I asked her to tell me my name and when my contract was up for renewal then. When she couldn't tell me, she just hung up.
So so so frustrating. She also suggested i phone o2 and ask them to take my name out of the database. I am just writing to o2 to ask them if her allegations were true, that o2 are placing peoples numbers on list to actually get daily calls from these annoying people.
I suggest other people phone their provider to see if this is the case as well.- Caller: Splash Mobile Online
- martKeeps calling me. I'm not going to answer them. Tossers!
- David BadgerI have been getting calls from this number for 3 weeks now. They call themselves Splash On-line. I have better things to do than field unwanted calls.
Short of going down to Swansea is there anything else that can be done to stop these people?
My next step will be to report them to trading standards and OFCOM.
Has anyone tried that?- Caller: Splash On-line
- David BadgerIf anyoine fancies going to Swansea and sticking a bat up their nightie try this:

And ask for ZOE- Caller: Splash online
- MarkGot my first missed call off this number, I don't get many random calls, I thought I'd look and see if I could work out who it was and I guess I won't be calling back. Thanks!
- Mark... reading more of these comments, is it me or is it coincidental that my contract with O2 is coming to an end at the end of March and I'm now getting calls????
- David BadgerMark - I don't think that your impending end-of-contract has anything to do with it. My calls started within a couple of days of activating a new phone!

- SomeoneAThey usually get your number from web crawlers. To check how the got your number just google your telephone number and you will find the guilty one. Usually someone posted it on a website somewhere.
- AlastairMGot a call today at work from them. I didn't answer, I never do anymore. I have an O2 contract and first started getting cold calls a few weeks after first getting it.
1. 02, all mobile and landline providers should have a complementory 'block number' service. But, they wont because then they can't make money from selling our details.
2. When a person gets their number changed for what ever reason (usually becasue of cold callers or other harrassment) they might have to pay to do so, it should be free. Also, those 'dead' numbers should then never we used again instead of being recycled. That's why people get cold calls as soon as a day after first registering.
3. The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) should have more teeth and OFCOM should be involved. The fact that SPLASH Mobile Online et al. have 'bought' my details, taken to it's logical extreme' is the same argument as someone who has 'bought' a stolen child. - t,j,da silvagot a missed call from this number earlier, thought it was my boyf, looked up number online t check and found all this !!!! mmm, i hope they don't call again!
- PeterHad a call from them today. My contract with 02 is about to expire but luckily I'd read about these people last week so told them I'd already fixed up a new deal. Goodness knows where they got my number from, though - I can't even remember it myself.
