This number called my mother twice yesterday, first time nobody spoke but the second time an Asian man asked to speak to someone with a different name, after being told numerous times no one with this name lives here and to stop calling, this man got very rude, so I took the phone from my mother and repeated the same things my mother said. I was then told to shut up constantly and then he started swearing at me telling me to shut my f***ing mouth and who was I etc. this in my opinion is bullying and harassment and an elderly person could be upset intimidated and scared by this type of tone and mannerism this man had, this number has been reported!!

I think you have to recognise that someone who is prepared to just con people out of their money like this is not a nice person. They have an attitude that says they are entitled to your money. People like that get angry if you don't automatically follow their script and hand over your details. They can't see why you wouldn't, because after all, it's really their money isn't it, so they get angry and frustrated that they are not getting their way. They blame YOU for things not going their way - for failing to see that your money is actually their money. They are deluded, basically.

Just had call from an Indian sounding lady supposedly from the UK Finance Department saying that the Court of Justice had ruled that the banks had taken charges they shouldn't have and that there was a cheque for me if I would confirm my dob. She had my address and postcode but would not tell me which bank the refund was from or how much it was for without my dob. She hung on me.

When answerd a person with a very thick asian accent kept trying to tell me that i was due a refund from my bank for bank charges, i played him along for a while pretending to be a bit of an idiot who did not understand what he wanted, managed to keep him on the phone for 35 minutes before he realised he was not going to get any information from me at which point he swore at me and hung up, such a rude man :-) Anyway after i had my fun with him i reported the call to action fraud who were not best pleased with me that i played the guy along, but it was good fun so why not. Report these scam calls to action fraud on 0300 123 2040. If YOU dont report them then they cant do anything to stop them.

Exactly same scam, when I'd suggested to him that this is a scam I got the most abusive expletive's you could have ever heard on a phone.
In my anger I'm afraid I responded in the same manner and put the phone down, please everybody, don't give any personal information to these scum bags, or more appropriately SCAM BAGS!!!

Got a call from this number today,  they seemed to have a lot of my husbands details which the Indian gentleman seemed happy to discuss with me. When I said I couldn't give further info as my husband did night work and was asleep he said he would phone back later. I contacted my bank and reported the call. They said if he phones back try and get at much information as I could without giving out any card details and they would investigate.

Call received from this number..Asian guy,,knew my name , address,etc and told me he was calling as I had been overcharged with bank charges in the past and he had a cheque for £ 1200.00 for me.
Luckily, I take these sort of calls in my stride, as I know I have never ever paid any bank charges, or had any debts,so I just play along with it.
He then asked me to clarify my phone number..?? Told him he knew it as was actually speaking to me on that number....he then asked me to give him my bank details in order to send the cheque to me....I replied with "if you have a cheque to send to me, all you have to do is get an envelope and stick a stamp on it,,you know my address,,just post it...if you really think I am stupid enough to give you bank details,you've got the wrong person "
He hung up...
A lot of people at the moment are awaiting monies from PPI's, so they could quite easily fall for this little scam...I'm also concerned for the elderly,or anyone that is just a bit influenced by this caller...

If you call this number back it is a dead tone !
And it is a Wakefield ( nr. Leeds ) area code....I have a friend who lives in Wakefield....that's the only reason I answered the call as I saw the area code,,thought it was him !

I have just rung action fraud and reported this along with the 01614293363 number which is a similar scam....please do so to stop this....
The number is.....0300 123 2040...... Very helpful....
You can also get your telephone provider to block these nuisance calls

I usually don't say anything when I pick up the phone, if I don't recognise the number, today I thought I recognised the number.

I leave my phone in answer mode but this number never leaves a message. If they are not willing to do that I assume they are some sort of tele-sales

Did not give them the chance to complete their spiel. Hung up immediately after they spoke.

I've also just received a scam call from this number ...A Asian Woman, she was getting quite abrupt when i kept asking her for her company details, eventually she hung up on me.

Rang my home number at 17:15, went dead after I said Hello.

This number called  was a Asian bloke he had my name and address even had the first four digits of my account but guessing most accounts for certain banks  possibly have the same or similar first four digits
Was then passed on to a lady who trying to get me to give the rest of my account number
Told her i would not give her details , if she has my details then she should post me the so called cheque
Like many others i have never had any bank charges
Told her any further communication was to be via post only
Worrying calls these are they need stopping FAST!!

Had a call today claiming to be from UK Finance. Asked for bank details because they had a refund for me. When I questioned this he was very aggressive.  I would never give details over the phone. These people should be stopped.

He said he had a cheque for me as a refund from my Bank.  He asked my date of birth which I did not give.  When I asked which bank he said he was not going to say and told me to get off the line.  He then put his phone down.

This number called at 11:17 on 19 Feb 2014. Didn't bother answering as knew it was a waste of my time. Will now label it as a spam call in my phone directory. At east their number came up on the phone screen.
