I keep getting harassed by these jerks, I got a new phone number when i moved house and the person they're after must have had it before me.
I've phoned them twice this year to tell them, they apologise and say that they wont phone again, a month later and it's back to 3 calls a week!

had several missed calls from this number so called thm back, they had none of my details just my number, the debt actually belongs to an ex friend of mine, which they must of used my number in spite, so gladly gave them all the info they needed to track down this idiot and they said my number would be removed from their system (we will see), bloke was nice and polite, but i have a feeling he may of been alot different had i of been the one owing the debt.

Got a call asking for someone else 'Tom Coles' today - probably the 10th one I've had from them recently. All the others were automated but this one was from a human, who gave the name Alana. I don't know whether to ring them and tell them I'm not Tom Coles or whether to just carry on ignoring them because that is part of their scam.

Receive calls from this company almost daily. They always ask for someone who doesn't live here - our number hasn't been transferred from someone else, we were the first people to have our number! We've rung them back twice telling them this, they apologise and say they'll remove us from the list. But, surprise surprise, we're still getting calls!

These people keep phoning my number and leaving a weird sounding recorded message for a Miles Parker.  There is no Miles Parker at my address and I have no idea who he is, so I will not be answering the phone to them, but they are a nuisance.

Contact the Director Dewi Rhodes Fox is the Director of ARC Europe Limited. His Home number is 01932880708 and his Mobile is 07837 755149. Give him a call and speak to him directly. He is the organ grinder not the monkey. I phoned him at 4.00am in the morning to maximize his attention. I guess he does not like getting contacted at that time.

The only way to stop the silent calls is to complain to their trade body. I complained about a similar company, Westcott Credit Services back in 2011 and received the most amazing cringe worthy apologetic reply, the removal of my details and no more phone calls. ARC have now made 2 silent calls to me - time for me to write to the CSA again. It does work if you've nothing to hide.

I cancelled a gym membership at the end of last year, handed over the letter to the receptionist in the gym in December, was told it was 3 months notice, paid up to March in accordance with the notice period. I also cancelled the direct debit in March, as I always make a point of doing this having had experiences of companies continuing to take payments after contracts have been terminated when they shouldn't have done.

Now I've been getting texts and calls on a daily basis from this lot, and I am deducing that it must have something to do with my gym membership as this seems to be what these people specialise in collecting. I don't have any other outstanding debts that are not being serviced, so I don't know what else it could relate to.

And yet here they are pursuing me for an as yet undisclosed reason - I am starting to wonder if the receptionist didn't process my letter and they are trying it on.

    So….

My question; I am no longer at the address that I registered the gym membership with. It would appear they only have my telephone number. Do I get into a wrangle with them and try and explain that as far as I am concerned my gym membership was cancelled, but risk engaging them and having them dispute this and try to force me to pay monies I don't owe? Or do I just ignore this?

my DW gym membership was postponed for a year then cancelled temporarily. I'm being hounded by these scumbags! I heard last night that Im not the first this has happened too. They call at all times of the day. today it was just after 8.40 am. They know we are ill and in our 70's. ABSOLUTE SCUM but Gym is to blame too by chasing a £5 that is not owing to them.  now want a months fee. I thought they would have to advise you of changes to Gym membership but they don't. UNPROFESSIONAL. think Mr. Dave Whelan should know what's going on with his companies. I do agree they need to collect money owed but its the way they do it. They changed from local gym dealing with this to their HQ which is a joke.
I wonder if the members turned on them and claimed a refund for non working equipment? claim waiting for parts from abroad.!! I can order items from abroad and here in 2-3 days with them its months no excuse.

Well after a few more calls from these characters, I ended up calling the gym to ask if it was anything to do with them, and they confirmed my membership had been cancelled and I didn't owe them anything.

Any idea how I find out what this is all about? I know you might say "just call them", but from what I can see here, a lot of people just call them and end up having a nightmare! I am absolutely clear that I do not have any defaulted debts, but do I want to get involved with these people?

Automated call - wanting someone else (by name) to contact them. They appear to have someone else's name against my number in their database. If you get one like this don't bother responding. There is no point in replying to these. The automated system does not give you an option to inform them that their details are incorrect and if you do contact them you will spend a lot of time trying to convince them you are not that person. They are also highly unlikely to take the time to change their database. I have had a similar problem with a Barclays automated call with the same problem. I pursued it all the way to the end. It took numerous phone calls, emails and an official written complaint to even get an FCA regulated company like Barclays to do anything about it. So I am pretty confident you will be wasting your time with these people given some of the reports on here. I would recommend blocking their number if you have the same problem. I have.

    Regarding debt collection.
Just block their number. If you have any outstanding debt with any company they are obliged to write to you. Not hassle you with phone calls from a third party company. Just respond to letters only and refuse to engage with these people. If you are concerned that you may have a debt contact the company directly and ask them to write to you with details of the debt and handle it that way.

Best advice is to just block this company's number on you phone. If you don't know how to do this just Google: How to block an unwanted number? [your phone type]
