Same message and £4 charge as the rest of the victims here. This is a scam. I have posted details to 02 and Ofcom; the mobile providers are responsible in law.... Claim from them plus your costs. I have also submitted a police report and got a crime ref - THIS IS THEFT What are the mobile providers doing about this tpo stop other people falling foul !

I do not recognise this number or caller ID and the caller informs me that i an=m being billed  4GBPs

HAD SAME TEXT TODAY.  WILL NOT CALL.   HOW GET MY MOBILE NUMBER.

Had exactly the same on 02. Sorry but from everyones comments I can't tell whether to send stop or not??

Just been hit by this scam. You are charged the £4.00 for receiving the text not after you reply. Phoned T-Mobile, they told me that they cant (wont) stop these charges. Phoned Erricson IPX... They said the charge was probably for an internet download... cobblers... go to www.phonepayplus.org.uk or phone them on 0800 500212. They have been investigating for three days, when this started, give them the details. The more complaints they get, the quicker we get a result!!!!

I got this message yesterday. O2 say they've had lots of customers calling to complain. No point changing networks as it's hit all of them.

just got that text sayin due to a technical fault payment from 12/2009 you will be charged £4 how do i get my cash back! does anyone no hu it is yet?

Bloody scam...have been charged as well..orange says they can't do anything and ipx says most of the people have been charged for purchasing a software online back then...I can't remeber doing this...is there anyway of not being charged again...orange says you don't need to text stop as it's not a subscription number...ny other ideas

i to have just got the txt have called 3 and they give me the number for ipx 01483305530 they said the number 60440 is from the company nextcard ltd, which charge for sofeware that you have downloaded ie media players ect if you call the number give them your number and they will tell why they are charging you.

just got that same msg as you guys saying i will be charged 4gp , scamming [***], rang 02 and they said 2 ring back on sunday and have took my details, they didnt seem 2 know anything about this scam either wich i find suspicious as many of tou are with 02 and have rang them as well, if they dont refund me or remove the charge i will be cancelling my direct debit and tell them 2 stick their contract where the sun  dont shine.

Had this same txt nd as I knew nothing about any purchase I called the number twice.Will hisamount to being charged £4x 2??If this is so,how ca someoe send you such a clearly fraudulant txt then have then legal autority to charge you for the priverledge.I called the company who acted on behalf of This nextcard and it appears to be related to a MEDIA/DOWNLOAD of some sort.TXT STOP IN CAPITOL LETTERS TO PREVENT FURTHER BILLING!!! A.S.A.P.

hi again have called PhonepayPlus 0800 500 212. they took all the details they also said to call ipx and get them to remove your number from there database.

EXACTLY word for word!! Scared me to death, what a bunch of w*****s. I have also been unable to use my phone since receiving it,not sur if its connected, but very strange??? i am currently on hold to vodafone as i type, i so hope it hasnt ballsed it up....i will be even less impressed than i already am..................Thankfully a lovely man called Colin has sorted my phone and i am now back. DO NOT CALL!!!

Exactly the same problem.   I called Vodafone.   They couldn't help but gave me the 01483305530 number for Ericson.   I got nowhere with them.   Called Vodafone back.   They have put a stop on 60440 for me and given me a refund of £5.

I just recieved the same message from 60440, I will not respond or call the number (02032863990), maybe it's the number you call or the reply that charges you? I haven't been charged yet. I advise that nobody respond via phone or text, just report it to your network provider
