Had the same message, i rang once but it rang once then hung up so i tried again, am worried that i will ber charged twice now.

received call stateing problem with purchase on 10/09 and to ring02032863990. DID NOT OF COURSE!!

I'm on o2 pay as you go and have been charged already!!

I text stop as per advice, but I won't e-mail in case of spam.

Think we eventually got to bottom of this contacted o2 and they told me to ring phonepay plus 0800500212 they were very helpful and told me that this was for some software that has been downloaded (or tried to be) and advised me to ring ericsson ipx 01483305530 and ask for time and date when they had proof that a txt had been sent to our mobile. They did give me a time and date and now my husband says he thinks it was for some sport channel when he was trying to watch footy on laptop (possibly sopcast or something similar. Hope this helps everybody who reads this and who has had this tx msg. He has been charged the £4 by the way and he didnt reply to this txt or ring them so looks like everybody will be charged.

rang orange -- they provided number for the company thats has billed me...01483305530... company called ericson ipx, spoke to them, they confirmed that it was [***] nextcard who txt me, they provided the number 02071939823 to call next card on (different from the 02032863990 number provided in the txt), low and behold, no answer from the [***].

ive certainly never used any service from them so how the [***] do they get my number??

may just have to cancel my direct debit with orange if they intend to take £4 from me.

called Orange Payg, they said i shouldnt have subscribed!! I havent ever subscribed to anything to do with this. They said because Orange didnt take the money they wont refund it. put me through to Ericosn pix who said they had received a lot of calls to do with this and advised I call Nextcard themselves on 02071939823 or email support.uk@nextcard.us. to be honest, I cant be bothered, I am waiting to hear from Orange themselves then will probably bin their card and go for a network that provides some security.

i called them, they took my mobile number and told me i had texted "cd" to nextcard on 31 oct 09, i was texted back "nr"
have told them i wish to dispute the transaction, was told to ring nextcard on 02071939823 as they would have relevant info.
am now wondering whether it was part of one of these online surveys that i have taken at some point. . .
will try the nextcard number above and see what they say.
if not, will try the ombudsman on 0800500212

CALLED PHONE PAY PLUS ON 0800 500212 WHO HAVE BEEN BATTERED WITH CALLS AND ARE TAKING DETAILS AND INVESTIGATING PLUS THEY GAVE ME THE NUMBER FOR ERRICSON IPX WHO ARE SENDING THE TEXT 01483 305530, A WOKING NUMBER. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ELSE, DON'T RESPOND BUT DO REPORT THEM.

hrm, been digging a bit on this one. . .
have found this via google and a different text number, which i think may be a legit cause, just a bit later than it should have been:
"To get your code send an SMS with the word CD to 60059"
this was, i think , from a software download site for a GIF animator i tried out last year.  so where Orange have no record of any text to 60440, the 60059 i think is the same provider, nextcard ltd. . . .
check you online billing for this number last october, it may help.

Looks like I'm in the queue to kick these so and sos too. I have received the same text and have been charged £4.00. I am with Tesco mobile PAYG. God knows how they got my number or authorisation to take this money from my balance! God help all the kids and pensioners who are going to be scammed. For info' I did not answer the message in any way but was still billed for the £4.00

i cannot BELIEVE what is going on.
I also cannot BELIEVE the responce i just got from Vodafone,
they dunno nothing about it and are advising I stay calm.

In addition to my last message I have now called Tescos and they have put a block on all premium rate texts (incoming). Jump on this one quickly!

Just had the same message myself. Figured it was a scam as soon as I saw the 4GP in capitals quickly followed by help and that phone number.
Phoned orange and the guy said he was gonna check it with security and phone me back.
