- paulOrange just got back to me they said I hadnt been charged and told me to phone some of the numbers that have been posted here. Told him no chance of that to which he said just report it.
- shezthats the thing ... how did they get our numbers? thought it was all confidental?
- me tooOrange PAYG : got this text checked with orange told to text "STOP ALL" but not much they can do. probably been charged also had something called "traffic tv" charging me £4 per month for which I have not subscribed advised go to Orange shop and ask to have it stopped as it very complicated to do online, worth checking if you do not get a printed bill!!!!!
- KeithSo I am not alone! Horrified to have £4 deleted from my Top Up credit on O2 about an hour ago! I can affford a Top Up only once every 4 weeks or so (mainly use to get free text allowance). I am deeply in debt and on tiny income so this really hurts! Waited ages to get through to O2 to query and gave up when battery started to go! Have sent an email. Shame phone service providers do not seem to have more care for their customers. Shouldn't they be proactive in making sure scams like this cannot happen. Am really upset.

- chris LJust had a similar text. 'Googled' Next card and found it to be a dodgy credit card company in the USA - now out of business. Not sure if this is anything to do with this text, probably not. Googled the number they wanted me to ring and found this website. Was worried in case I was the subject of identity fraud. Don't reckon I am so will delete text. Annoying though.

- Terri GrimshawI have been sent the same txt, i'm on pay as you go so it took £4 credit off me just for the txt being sent to me, i txt stop to 60440 & was charged 10p for that as well, i rang o2 & they said there it nothing they could do as i must have signed up to something, i've never signed to anything but got no hope of getting my credit back, i just hope i don't receieve anymore
- pip2ND RESPONSE HERE FOLKS, ALLEDGEDLY WE ALL MUST HAVE REPLIED TO SOME TEXT WITH THE WORDS CD SOME TIME AGO, THIS IS ACCORDING TO ERICSON IPX, DON'T BELIEVE THEM AS I NEVER RESPOND TO SUCH THINGS AND ACTUALLY HATE TEXTING. APPARENTLY THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT BUT THEY WON'T SAY WHAT AND WON'T PUT A STOP TO IT. HAVE A NUMBER FOR NEXTCARD 02071939823 BUT IT ONLY RINGS ON A DOODGY TONE AND ANSWERS TO NOTHING BUT THIS IS A LONDON NUMBER. HAVE ASKED VIRGIN TO STOP ALL PREMIUM RATE TXTS TO MY NUMBER, SAID THEY WOULD BUT WHO KNOWS. AS SOMEONE SAID BEFORE IT'S THE KIDS AND OAPS THAT ARE GOING TO SUFFER THE MOST AS £4 ON PAYG IS QUITE ALOT, HOW HAVE THEY GOT ARE NUMBERS?

- KeithThank goodness for this website. Since I am alone and feeling partuicularly vulnerable at the moment its at least a small comfort to know others have had this unpleasant experience. And of course its a bit naive of me to type "So I am not alone!"

- LEIA SOUTHWELLI TO RECIEVED A TEXT FROM THIS NUMBER I HAVE A PAY AS YOU GO PHONE AND THEY HAVE TOOK 4 POUNDS OF MY CREDIT I AM EXTREMELY PISSED OFF ABOUT THIS
- JoeAfter reading previous messages. I recall sending a cd message back after entering a competition on GMTV or maybe some other type competition, Gadget show. Sometimes you get messages back to see if you wish to enter more. I don't buy add on or music with my phone, just enter phone in or prize competitions.
I'm on PAYG. I also contacted Vodafone and they gave me the same help as previous messages. How they can take money I don't know, I checked my balance yesterday before the txt was £5 checked today & £4 was removed. I'd like to get to the bottom of this.

- shezI want to know the same.. how the hell they got our numbers ... arent they ment be to kept confidental? i shall ring o2 later and comment my response on here when i have rang them ... but by the sounds of it... its going to be a waste of time
- Phil FurlongBy just reading the message from 60440 you are being charged £4. The 0203 number is London so isn't a high charge number. Putting a HELP number on the text helps the scammer to get it through the process. The process is done by Ericsson IPX (not the phone manufacturer) they collect debits from almost all the network providers (Orange, 02, Vodaphone etc, etc) I got my £4 back straight away from Orange - but it was not they who charged me yet they gave me £4 of their money!! Is there in fact a bigger problem here? A massive processing company seems to be easily vulnerable to a scam via network providers. Whilst I admire Orange for good customer relations, my experience is if a big company gives away it's money quickly, they maybe don't want you look deeper into what the potential problem is.

- GeorgeReceived same stuff as above exactly the same. Have just deleted message. On O2 hope I will not be charged.

- LANAI HAVE JUST ALSO HAD THIS. O2 USELESS. NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO. THEY CAN TAKE IT AS MANY TIMES AS THEY LIKE AND THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO.
- dontmatterjust call ur phone company and report as texting will cost u £4 as will calling the number cost you. just report it to ur mobile company so it can be escalated imagine 100 customers call or text them & nobody reports it. REPORT TO UR PHONE COMPANY SO THESE TEAPOTS ARE PREVENTED FROM MAKING MONEY FRAUDULENTLY
- Caller: 02
- Phil FurlongTo all of you lot saying contacting your network provider is probably a waste of time...... Don't you see it? By taking that stance you are each contributing £4 to the scammer, the money has been debitted to your account!
Call your network help number (150 + 450 for Orange) give them the facts, demand a refund - you will get it.)
But what are Ericsson doing about it? They are the company that actually collects all the £4 from you. Imagine how many of these have gone through? Someone could be raking in £40,000 a minute!!!- Caller: Nextcard Ltd
- AlexIndeed,
To everyone Please, CALL your phone service providers (Vodaphone/o2/orange... etc.)
and REPORT whats going on. This is unacceptable and must be looked at.
