    Pure Solutions Direct Ltd Coventry

This is another company under the Aspire solutions umbrella, and they follow ALLLL the Aspire rules- the same e-mail template, the same promise of advancing through a 4 stage business scheme "I know someone who reached the top level in just 15 weeks!", the same neglecting of important details such as lack of contract and commission based pay, and the same advice "WEAR COMFY SHOES!"

I now know that "wear comfy shoes" means door-to-door sales.

Oh, and I applied for "Assistant Brand Manager". That's a very funny way of saying on foot sales.

I think the cosmetics brands are real clients, but the way Aspire (Pure Solutions etc) satisfy the clients needs is by continuously employing door-to-door salespeople to sell their products. Having read a team leader's comments on here, as soon as you advance you're only trained to keep new employees, ie. the salespeople.

So it's a sales company. Disguised as a marketing company. Really can't be doing with this in an already hopeless looking job market, will also be contacting Reed and Watchdog.

Thanks for the heads up, my 2nd interview day starts in 25 minutes and I will certainly not be heading in.

Got a phone call from this "company" and was excited to be offered an interview, I had been out of work for some months. Went to the first interview, failed to tell me that it was door to door sales and was told that I could be earning untold riches.........well....I went along to the second interview where I shadowed an "experienced" employee, we went to Peckham Rye and thats when I realised it was door to door sales, the hours were stupid, I arrived at the office at 10am and did not get home till half 11 that night. During the day I asked if there was a basic salary and was told it was commision but not in those exact words all the words were dressed up. when I asked what days he worked he said it was monday to saturday and was told that if I did not work all 6 days then I did not have the right attitude or work ethic. I was offered a job with them and silly me needing work went along for my first day of training. This time I was on Caledonian Road in north London....and it struck me that they only target council estates. I was put on a team that are supposed to work for the carphone warehouse and Talktalk. After many hours on my feet I began to get very agitated and annoyed and told the person I was with that I did not think the job was for me as it was too long hours and too many days and I had too many commitments at home. I got fed a load of crapola. so to put a long story short what a load of b*****ks. Unfortunatly another girl who started the same day as me has been brainwashed into this crap. Now I will be reasearching any company that I apply for, I just wished I had looked on here before wasting 2 days and nearly 100 pounds!

My boyfriend got roped into this a couple of years ago when he had just graduated. I'm currently job hunting again and, surprise surprise, I got the call from Aspire - I didn't apply for it, I know what direct marketing means, but my CV was public on Reed.

I must say, all these absolute brainwashed morons who harp on about the rest of us not knowing hard work if it bit us on the backside, really must have issues understanding the workplace. I'm sure the rest of these people who realise they're being scammed probably wouldn't have a problem wit commission-based work, but you've got to be a sandwich short of a picnic to willingly do commission-based work with no basic salary!

I've been a recruitment consultant for 2 years (currently looking to change to a different recruitment sector before some idiot Aspire employee makes rubbish comments about me not having a job) which certainly isn't for everybody, but if you've got the gift of the gab then you've got a good chance. I work 10-11 hour days most of the time and I do reap the rewards, but I work for a reputbale company, where my managers can afford to get their suits from Savile Row, the walls are painted and we all earn a basic salary! I know damn well what hard work is, but I also know that I'm not a MUG!

That guy Robbie made me laugh though, saying people who goes on these observation days should be grateful that employees take the time out of their day to show them how to do the job. Honestly, people are interviewed for this "job" all bloody day long, I'm sure there isn't a day goes by when the employees aren't taking people round on observation days - it's part of their job as it's a pyramid scheme!! The only way these companies survive is by taking on people to sell stuff door to door, then those people take on people and it goes on and on and on...

Unfortunately it's not illegal in this country - it's a more strenuous version of girls in clubs giong round selling you alcoholic shots in a test tube, but I'm sure those girls are under no illusion that what they're doing isn't a highly prospective career.

I applied for a Customer Service assistant job last Thursday, and less than 4 hours later I got a call from Aspire asking me if I was available for an interview the next day and if I was happy with a full time position. I was very excited.

I went to the interview, but I was still skeptik because their website did not look professional, and I was not comfortable will a 100%-commission-based job. I was also surprised by the number of candidates invited for the interview and by the fact that the receptionist kept on calling more people for further interviews.
The interviewer told me straight away that I was selected for the training day the next day which was a Saturday. During this interview he never explained me clearly that it was a door to door sales job. He kept on saying: customer service, brand new marketing methods...
When I asked him if people actually earn money he said:  If you are really bad you can get £250/week, but the good ones get £500 a week, up to £1000.

When I went back home I told my boyfriend about that, but he told me that it was bull****t and that you don't earn anything with these job.

I just wanted to be sure because I thought maybe it will be different, I wanted to know what it was really and I had no plan for Saturday.
So I arrived at 11h, I went with a team to Hackney, during all the way she was asking me questions about my background, skills...., then she explained me why their company was so successful, I asked her again if they actually earn money, and she said if you follow exactly the method they give you during the training, there is no reason why you don't earn money.
while we were walking I had a quick glance on my mobile, and then she told me off about that.

We started the door to door I was told to follow them, and during this time she gave me some exercises to do such as preparing a fictive business plan, or giving her at least 40 ways of advertising a product.

After 2 hours, seeing that she hadn't sign anything, I decided that it was not a job for me.
    Things which put me off:
    - She was supposed to be the manager, but she did no get any sales, so imagine a beginer like me...
    - She was asking me too many personal questions, if I have a boyfriend, what he was doing, which kind of house I live in, who I live with, why I would like to move out, why I want a bigger flat, and HOW WILL I DO TO PAY THE FLAT IF I DON'T HAVE A JOB.
    - She kept on saying jobs are so hard to get in this time, that is very difficult to find a job, even if it is true, why was she rubbing it like that.

So I left them at 1 pm, having started at 11 am. And I don't regret my choice. I just waisted 2 travel cards.

I got a phone call from same number saying that I have secured an interview after I applied to them through GUMTREE and quickly put me under pressure by asking if I m available for interview tomorrow. I couldn't ask much about the company as I was all excited and told them I am. I applied to couple of jobs the day before so I wasn't sure which one was it and I thought I would find it out from the email which they said they will send me right after the phone conversation. I had proper graduate job interview couple days later so I thought I could use this as an practice session lol. So I wasn't that disheartened after finding out all these things.
Funny how I tried to research about the company in google by typing  "Aspire Marketing London..." and the next suggested word from google was "scam". I immediately selected that suggestion and found this website. First time ever google suggestion actually helped me.

    Hi Guys,

Ok im not defending Aspire or any of the companies working out of 1 Bath Street, but they are not a scam and not illegal. How do I know this, well i used to work there. I only lasted 2months and wasnt even field based it was in the office.

But Aspire for sure alot of other things: The managers are rude, cocky n arrogant. They all have admin assistants who earn £250 per week working 10am-6pm with no lunch or no breaks just on the phones all day everyday booking ANY ONE in for an interview. All they care about is if the applicant is 18Yrs-29Yrs.

Then theres the actual field workers who are in the office from 9am participating in awful oppertunity meetings were the mangers (Duncan, Olu or Adam) spill off sales jargon to try and get them motivated, mean while there is a bunch of ppl sitting in the waiting room waiting for the second interview. They are told to arrive for 11.30am but the field workers dont finish their mettings till 12.30pm, the managers do not care that u are sat wasting an hour. After they leave the next lot of prelim interviews start at 1pm. They assistant are told to book at least 6ppl in the same timeslot as they know how many ppl will not turn up.

I must say all the girls in the office are lovely n dont actually enjoy their job. They have just been there too long to get out and are very loyal to their managers for reasons I never understood.

If you do get a call think carefully about going, if you want to work door 2 door sales on NO basic but want to progress then go for it. The progression is there with hard work.

    Good Luck!!!

:-( Why are all the good things too good to be true..Lol. I've been out of work for months..!! After uploading my CV to Reed I get an email and a phone call saying I've been invited to an interview. I thought I would just check out the website and do a bit of research before I went... good job I did as the interview was set for tomorrow... what a quick turn around. Within 48 hours!! of uploading my CV I get a phone call and an interview!! (I just wish ''reputable'' companies worked this quickly!! :-)

I agree about contacting watchdog... maybe it's not illegal or a scam, but its definitely misleading... I've also sent an email to reed ''suggesting'' they vet their site better..!! :-)

This company must be shut down, it is dam out or order what they are doing! they avoid costs while hiring people like this. ie insurance for you. watch dog should crush this company because they are still active in london!!. They go buy so many names like RED SQUARE DIRECT (which now the web site is removed) just to sell victoria jackson make up....all for make up! wtf 100k job, team leader, whatever! you will not earn NO money with this comapny, as you will spend more on travel.

I've been desperate for a job and like so many people, I got excited when Aspire emailed me back to set an interview for the next day. I said I would go and two hours before my interview they called me to make sure I was going and 'to check if I had received the directions'. In the end I couldn't go and I postponed. I didn't go that one either.

I called them a couple of weeks later to ask if they still had vacancies and guess what? they did despite stating that they had had a lot of applicants. I managed to set up an interview over the phone for the next day and guess what...I didn't go to that one.

I'm so relieved that I didn't turn up - it would have been a waste of my money and time. Thanks to everyone for the reviews.

Thank you so much for saving me a wasted journey! I have an interview today at 5pm. My suspicions were raised when I received a prelimary interview and then some time later a phone call to ask when i'd like to be interviewed. Not even 20 minutes later a different person from the same company rang me to tell me the exact same thing and gave me an interview 30 minutes before the orignal one. I was confused but decided it was worth a go and actually thought my CV was so good it had made them contact me twice in error. Another thing that raised my suspicions were that as a single parent I would need interview clothes travel fare etc and when my lone parent advisor from jobecentre plus called the office to verify this they were unhelpful in giving her information and stated they could not confirm whether or not I was attending the interview and shortly after hung up the phone on her. I got my grant for my interview clothes I am just glad I havent got a babysitter and a travel card to trapse around central London in the rain for a scam!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH JOE!  its strange as this job was posted on reeds website
