Word of advice, you didn't work hard, you dossed about and did about 8 hours a week. And as a 'graduate' (no doubt of one of the former colleges of FE) you should surely have spelt 'you're' as it should be. I'm sure you're waiting for a call from a blue-chip company (look it up), or maybe NASA, just dying to employ your graduate expertise and propel you straight up the promotion ladder. You will be waiting a very long time.

Olumide Fakeye  is now trading under A1 Outsource in Glasgow. Seems they move from place to place to gicve the illusion of success. I'm sure he was supposedly going to Portugal on the 1st of March¬

I actually worked for these [removed:lang] about 3 years ago. I was fresh out of Uni with a law degree and decided i needed just for the money to get by until i worked out exactly what i wanted to do with my life. I ended up being there for two weeks. It was the worse working experience of my life. I can still remember the face of the manipulating [removed:lang]  who ran the whole operation. As you can tell, it still angers me when i look back on this (even though it was just 2 weeks).

Their stupid catch phrases ('juice') and the awful techno music in the front of the office. Not to sound patronizing but I feel i have a certain level of intelligence which allowed me to recognise early on that this was a scam, however there were many there who clearly weren't very well educated (some who could barely speak English)  who were taken advantage of and manipulated. One guy I spoke to had a family and had been paid just under £1000 for over 2 months work, doing shifts of up to 12 hours a day. It sickens me to think about this again. LETS GET THEM ON WATCHDOG!

i had a second interview today walking the streets observing door to door sales and i am waiting for a phone call to see if i get the job. praetorian marketing is the company and it is in bham. they promise an 8 month training programme saying i will be manager earning £1000 a week. anyone heard of them? should i take the job!

You will have no salary, they will not care about you, you are NOT their employee so you have NO rights because you are self employed - they dont care if you dont make money because they are not paying you to work.

If they earn then you earn, if you dont earn they will STILL earn because they will have about 15-20 drones doing the same thing as you - you will not and cannot get sacked.

Your job is to earn them money, if you dont they talk to you like [***], if they do they sweet talk you to keep you there because you have earned them money.

You will work 6 days a week and not finish until 10pm everynight guarunteed and STILL have to return to the office after 10pm!!

I took the job because I was financially stable and had a punt with it, after earning about £500-£600 in about 6 weeks I told them to shove it!!

Same here...got scheduled for interview right away... Praetorian Marketing...blah blah ...nasty people... but fortunately did some research first and got an idea of what they were like and canceled the interview.. saved me a trip i'd say. They're located in Birmingham city center

Heads up!

I am 17 and have been at praetorian for 3 weeks (GODS KNOW WHY) At first I did not know it was door to door sales, disgusting! For these 3 weeks I did not get paid at all!  Even though I made a few sales. The company is filthy with loud music, no chairs, so everyday have to stand up. There are only chairs in the interview rooms. From working there my legs have been aching, working from 11:00am to 8:00pm. On the streets knocking doors. Considering I am only 17, anything could of happened. The managers are all show off, with their cheap ass suits, everyone are all fake,  they all seem soo nice. I had to travel to diff areas everyday, this means using my OWN money for bus/train. I feel soo stupid, I have earned nothing from this job, all I've been doing is wasting my money on bus/train rather then actually earing some cash. If they have told me on the first interview it was door to door sales then I would of quit. I have no idea why I stayed there for 3 weeks? Maybe because I done a few sales?  Worse mistake ever.

I am glad you cancelled the interview! Wish I did some research before going there. The company is filthy and fake. I agree they're nasty people. Glad you and I are not brainwashed  like some of the people there.

1.Receive call/e-mail asking you to ateendan interview.
2.Goto interview sit down fill out paperwork(same info as cv) obviously they haven't read it!!!
3.Called in by Sam(manager)
4.Talked at for 10 minutes about company and what you COULD earn!! [***]
   entry level - for 3 weeks - £150 - £250 per week
   team leader - progress to in 4 weeks - £300 - £400 per week
   assistant manager - progress to in 4-6 months - £600 - £800 per week
   manager(Sam) - progress to in 11 months - £4000 - £11000 per week
SOUND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!!!!!!
THATS COS IT IS.

I was invited back for 2nd interview and asked to bring a note pad and comfy shoes.

1.Arrived and filled out another form stating that i wasn't being paid for the day and that Praetorian had no responsibility for me.
2.Sam introduced me and another person to the team leader(wont say his name because he was a nice guy but hes been brainwashed and caught in the trap.
3.We went outside and met 2 other guys that he was going to train at the same time as showing us the job and doing the job himself.
4.Walked to southampton train station , waited for an hour for the train and he asked us questions and got us to write answers down to show 'OUR BUSINESS ACUMEN' [***].
5.Arrived at a council estate and he went through his speil about BT renewing all phones and the fact that broadband was gonna become free .
6.3 o'clock lunch and stood outside a shop while he ate his sandwich and aske more rediculous questions .
7.3.30 back knocking on doors with the same [***] speil until we left and wer walked back to the station by him at which point he said we would recieve a phone call later that evening , he went back with the trainees to the estate until 8.30pm.

DAY 3

1. I was invited back for final interview next day and i thought i would give it one last go.
2.Arrived at 10am
3.Sam came out and we went to his desk.
4.He again talked at me for 15 minutes but welcomed any questions, so here goes

We then went to the atmosphere room OH MY GOD

Loud music and no chairs with people stood all around practising their pitch.
They then started to chant and everyone had to shout back what they had shouted.
I was told i would be there all day but at 12.30(2 hours) i was told i could go but come back tommorrow at 10am when i would be taken out all day.

YOU DONT GET PAID FOR TRAINING
YOU HAVE TO PAY ALL YOUR OWN TRAVEL EXPENSES
YOU ARE ON COMMISSION ONLY WHEN STARTING
YOU DONT GET PAID UNTIL THE 3RD MONDAY
WHEN YOU ARE A TEAM LEADER YOU DONT GET PAID FOR TRAINING ANYONE YOU ONLY GET PAID FOR SALES.

YOU WILL BE SELF EMPLOYED BUT TREATED LIKE AN EMPLOYEE (TOLD WHEN AND WHERE TO WORK)

Look i'm being honest and dont want anyone else to go through this [***] , there are loads of these companies around but they are all linked because when and IF you become a manager you start your own company but call it something different.

You must be one of the brainwashed drone leaders or assistant managers because u are talking [***] , give me hard facts about earning , THIS IS PYRAMID SELLING AT ITS WORST.

You're SPOT ON! That company is a total JOKE. With everyone standing up, chanting like morans.  The whole interview proccess it total [***]. They need to be shut down, but I highly DOUBT that will happen.

I've been taken in by these cowboys also... In relation to anyone not being paid what they are due, call your manager and politely remind him that effectively you ARE/WERE an employee and in accordance with employment law, you will be seeking to recover any monies owed via an independent tribunal.

And always, ALWAYS remember.... Self employed people do not have managers, can work their own hours, do not have to attend compulsory training, and most importantly, can hire their own staff. Working for companies such as these, you cannot do any of this, therefore you are employed on a commission only basis.

In my last week, (Glasgow Office) Olumide Fakeye failed to pay me my final wage of £380.

2 weeks of arguing and him coming up with excuses etc I sent the above in a text to him.

As if by magic, I was paid what I was owed that day.

These companies rely on people not knowing employment law... They didn't bank on me knowing it! :)

Employed or self-employed?
In order to answer this question it is necessary to determine whether the person works under a contract of service (employees) or under a contract for services (self-employed, independent contractor). For tax and NICs purposes, there is no statutory definition of a contract of service or of a contract for services. What the parties call their relationship, or what they consider it to be, is not conclusive. It is the reality of the relationship that matters.

WOW had an interview with these guys today and got invited back Thursday for "induction" or whatever they call it. This this really such a bad thing to do? My first experience was identical to yours...

@ Andy......15 pages of comments from people that have been sucked into these 'scam' self-employed companies and you should take everyones advise and avoid!!  If you want a day of entertainment, then sure go along; and then revisit this website to add your experiences!!

My sister almost ended up workig for Arcedia, whom say you can be a team leader earning £16k in juist 4 weeks doing telesales from a Liverpool call centre.  In reality, it was door-to-door sales, commision based (with no guarentee of a penny at the end of the week) for some National Dogs Charity.  The team leader would drive the sales ppl to Council estates and stand on the corner watching the 'telesales' ppl go to every door - no sales = no pay!!  Also, being self-employed you'd be responsible for working out/paying your own Tax and National Insurance!!

The company still exisits; and has offices all over the UK; and always reply with an email in the same manner as those listed above.
