- Joe| 3 repliesI Went to London Marketing Services for an interview about a month ago. The whole atmosphere smelled like scam. Due to the fact that I REALLY needed a job, I also went for the second interview.
I was assigned with three other ( More experienced ) people about the same age as me ( 20-21 ) and I was taken to SOUTHEND CENTRAL ( Google map it ) which is quite far for me according to the fact that I live in London.
Ok so I was assigned to sell make-up in a shopping centre!!! What a joke. No basic salary. Per make up set I sold @ 30GBP I would get 5GBP!? No basic salary.
So basically, in order to make a decent wage out of it, I would have to sell 3 of them an hour!? Jokes.
They train you to become a manager, it's all bullocks! Sounds great, but it's not true.
Oh and just a detail, if you ask them about the working hours, it's 7:30 to 19:00.
Aspire is the same company. DONT DO IT!- Caller: ASPIRE - LONDON MARKETING SERVICES
- JoeOh and btw, EA Worldwide and London Marketing are in the same building, have the same website, with the same people working for both companies..IN OTHER WORDS, THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANIES!
- Caller: EA WORLDWIDE - LONDON MARKETING SERVICES
- graThanks guys, I have just received the call from 02072519028 and was waiting and waiting for their confirmation email.
They have not sent it yet, thus making their scam ineffective...because as I googled the telephone number, all these suspicious and warnings comments came out.
I was so happy to receive the call (it's been two weeks now I am longing for any job). I am almost crying right now, but at least I won't be scammed.
Thank you very much.
G. - grabtw I have just received their email. They are called Aspire Acquisitions and have a very basic website (http://www.aspiremktg.com/) which sounds totally fake (I have a little knowledge of websites, for God's sake!). They are based closed to Old Street:
1 BATH STREET
LONDON
EC1V 9LB
0207 017 3866
telephone number is different from the onw I got the call (what the hell?)
I guess I won't be attending the interview. Better go to an exhibition I had already planned with a friend.- Caller: Aspire
- DaveSounded dodgy and looked dodgy to begin with but I went in to have a look anyway. Comments about it are spot on including the loud techno in the waiting room. Although in my case the few staff there were dancing to it..... Other than that they coundnt answer the simplist of questions like what does your company do and what are the job specifications of this job.
If you want a good laugh go in for an interview
hahahaha- Caller: Aspire Marketing
- clareis this really a scam? i'm supposed to have an interview with them on monday at 2. i was worried it might be door to door sales which i'm not about to do, i have an MA!

- AnnaahAs a recent graduate, I have been applying for jobs like mad!! so to get miscalls from any 0207/0208 numbers, is exciting. I got two miscalls from the 0207 251 9028 and I didn't know whether to ring back or not, so I thought I'd research into the number, and thank god I did!! Don't think I'd be so quick to answer my phone now! :|
- CharlieThank You people the lovily lady just rang me I guess when a company so desparate to get you interview should ring alarms in your head, why is a company so desparate unless they alway do interview ie that the business. I did get scammed by another company called felix marketing. Thank you for the advise and the head ups dont have to waste me day tommorrow any ideaon any actual good job
- JenniferI have exactly the same experience with london marketing services, red square direct and now Aspire. They need to have their adverts removed from these major job websites immediately. My advice would be never apply for a job without a prenegotiated salary. These companies should not be able to get away with it its mean!
- brighton massivegot the call yesterday from a company called aspire acquisitions based in central london asking me to come in for an interview. i was suspicious straaight away because she wouldnt tell me anything about the position and recommended that i go on the website. after checking the website out i came to the conclusion that it was dodgy because ive worked for one of these companies before in brighton. basically they are run by the same company called cobra and there are thousands of them around the country selling anything from gas and elec for edf to charity funds for the rde cross etc, the role is commision ONLY and involves knocking on door doing face to face cold calling sales and if you dont sell u dont get paid and the working hours are typically 11-9pm mon-fri and 10-5pm sat, yes thats six days a week. they can get away with asking you to do 60+ hours because u are essentially self employed so dont have to do it but u'll pretty much be out of a job if you dont. u have to pay your own taxes and ur payed weekly.
hope this has been of some help - StaceyI only researched the number as it took so long to get an email from them. Same number as most of you have mentioned, and same company (Aspire). I am so glad i do my research first. As soon as i get the email confirmation, i will tell them to shove it where the sun does not shine. I found the advert on Reed.co.uk and i will be notifying them that this is a scam, although i am sure there are many loopholes in the law, such as the one above me, you are self employed.
I looked up the email address from the email address i found at the bottom of my application confirmation (www.aspireldn.co.uk) what a shocker, its under construction.- Caller: Aspire
- victoriaI put my CV on reed.co.uk a few days before i recieved my Degree results. Needless to say i was very excited when i got a call from Aspire Acqusitions calling me in for an interview.
I went in the next day at 1:30 for a preliminary interview, filled out a form and waited in the lounge listening to some dance music which set off a good vibe! had the interview and thought i did well initially and tried my best. They said if i recieve aa call later that night then i have been selected for the next interview. I did not think that i would recieve the call, and when i did i thought it was too good to be true. I was so excited and told all my family and friends and looked forward to going in the next day for the next part of the interview.
As soon as i got there i had to fill out another form and then one of the MD'S introduced me to a leader, they then said that today would nothing glamourous and we would be doing field work.Luckily i bought some flat shoes with me and changed into them. Then from 12 midday till 10 that evening we spent in Harrow on the Hill in London, doing door to door sales for a charity. I spent the whole day observing the team leader and another boy who she was training.
It was tedious work but i had to do it! then at 10pm we headed back to the office and complete a questionnaire that would then determine along with the leaders review of you whether you got the job. I was so unbelievibly nervous but knew i had to do my best and went into the interview room with three MD'S who quizzed me as to why i would be the best person for the job.
I was then given the answer that they would like to invite me to the team and there was a big congratulations and some very happy people...until i told my boyfriend what i had done during the day when i got home (@12pm..i must add)He sadi what kind of company was it and said it didnt sound like a training programme more like slave labour.....
Then my dad said the same and i decided to google the company and found these reviews. I am in two minds whether to go next week for the first day and check it out for myself or stay well clear of them..... - SaraHey,
Before going to an interview, it's always a good idea to do your research to prove your enthusiasm for the job. I found the job on Reed and applied, and to my shock, I received a phone call straight away. Thye offered me an interview, no phone interview first or anything, just simply an interview with a managing director. I did think to myself it was too good to be true, as I am a new graduate, applying for any job I can find, and Aspire were too quick to offer an interview. From reading all the above, I now know that it is too good to be true and do not know whether or not to go to the interview next week.- Caller: Aspire
- Thomas Anderson| 1 replyI worked for this company (aspire) for two months and as much as i did not want to believe it, they are a scam. They get your hopes up at the start and before you know it you are in charge of interviewing and training.
At this point you start to learn the whole thing is a scam as the managers give you meetings on how to keep the employees! rather than they have to work to keep your job!
Everyone is so false, very charming and nice at the start but work there for a bit the office becomes a little offputting, THEY SHOULD STOP WASTING PEOPLES TIME AND GETTING PEOPLES HOPES UP! i was looking for a job for months and was so excited to get selected and only stayed with the job to try and convince myself i had not been conned, but i regret to say i was....
I hope this helps people,- Caller: Aspire
- MillosBloody hell! when i fnished uni 6 years ago i fell into one of this traps. It was a company called AdEFX in Hammersmith. Same thing, loads of young people like me filling in their applications....banging music in the background. I got as far as the train station with them and when realised what their idea of 'meeting the clients' was, I did a runner haha I nearly lost a temp job I was doing because of them. I've been made redundant this year and just got the same call from Aspire haha it seemed a bit weird that when I asked for a job spec they didnt have one. Thanks everyone, you have been a great help. What waste of a travelcard it would have been.
- MillosWow look at the email address they email you from! aspirehrdept@googlemail.com. that should deff make the red alarm ring. If i wasnt so broke i'd go to the interview just for the laugh of it.
- Clairethey phoned me for an interview yesterday, i fond a website yesterday and went back on this mornin andit had disappeared, then i found these comments, glad i did

- victoriaglad i wrote on here guys and glad i could shed some light. I was meant to start today with Aspire but have emailed them now too say i will not be working for them and have found that the company is not as it seems to be. I have tried to keep in contact with my manager who has quite happily gave me her email and after sending her a few questions about pay and holiday entitlement oh and a small thing about the fact that my mum was a lawyer and wanted to see the contract..lol well as you can imagine there was NO REPLY!!! NO REPLY TO ANY CALLS OR MESSAGES SINCE THEN EITHER...how conveiniant. This just shows that they knew i was on to them.PLEASE PLEASE anyone being called by Aspire or companies like this dont risk it unless you dont mind doing 16 hour days, knocking on peoples doors and scamming them.....oh and another thing...you have to work weekends too a little thing they failed to mention! and i found the reason why the people there are so nice.....they are totally brainwashed and are too far in to get themselves out..in a way i feel sorry for them!!!!
- priti| 1 replyi just received the same call, no telephone interview , just a straight interview with the managing director lol. ive been to one of these before...door to door sales. what rubbish! i have a frigin degree!
