They called on bank holiday monday! Ex-directory and TPS - doh! I did the usual TPS query with them getting the 'it doesn't apply to us' routine. Saying I wanted to complain anyway I was passed to a supervisor (or someone else) who gave an apology and offered to have our number removed from their system. I said yes! - clearly the right thing to do reading the comments here.

DOING SOME OF MY OWN RESEARCH... it would, however, appear that TPS doesn't apply. I found this in the TPS FAQ - because it is 'research' it is ok - doh!

I'm going to lobby the TPS to add this as an 'opt out' option to their service. I think everyone who comes here needs to do this and, of course, refuse to participate in the surveys. If only everyone unilaterally refusd to do them.

I have literally just had a call from them, at the same time I had a charity collector ring the doorbell setting the dogs off so just about heard the phone caller saying market research and automatically said no thanks not interested.  Flaming annoying - never give out my number and always tick that I don't want these kind of calls.

Just had a call from a "market research" company. Caller ID said 0044 207 890 9051.
This is the second time they have rung in the last week.
In this case it appears they were ring from overseas (hence 0044).This is a bit strange.
They asked for a woman's name that is close but not identical to mine.
I declined to answer any questions. Is this a phishing expedition?

Had a call from 0044 207 890 9051 at 7:30pm last night.

Didn't answer it in time, but got the number off 1471.

I hung up a call fromhis number when they could not pronounce my surname, they got it alarmingly wrong, didn't even know who the caller was as I didn't get that far.

I get so many random-spam calls these days - I don't pick up calls from numbers I don't recognise anymore. If it's important they'll leave a message. Received 2 missed calls within the hour.  Decided to check this website again, glad I did!!

Called me on mobile in the pub Friday night. Didn't answer, so they called me again Sat morning. Told them to clear off and not call me again. Then they called me just now, Sunday morning, on my landline. Is that a coincidence? Feeling paranoid now.
Complaining to Ofcom.

The number called me on Sunday, lunchtime.  I was out but tried 1471 when I came home, as I sometimes do.
Checked number on Google and discovered this site - great.

This number shows as a missed call on my mobile. I am on PAYG with Orange. So they are still out there, then!

My parents received a call asking for me by name by this company last night and I haven't lived there for over 10 years!  I was a bit worried because they'd used my full name but thanks to this website it has at least put my mind at rest.  Market research companies are a pain in the a*se.

I am from London staying in a hotel in San Fernando Valley, got
a call from this number on Saturday at 5:46am not in the morning
not impressed to be woken up at this time, I have no idea where they
got my mobile number from.

Some of these numbers don't answer so you can call them back then you
get charged a huge amount of money for the call and they pocket it as
a profit.
