A petition has been started to complain and try to stop junk telephone callers and to randomly generate telephone numbers ignoring the Telephone Preference Service. Some of these calls have been upsetting for many people and have been an intrusion. Please check this Official Government web site for further information. Please forward this to friends or family who have been the brunt of some of these calls.

It seems if they do not get through to a number they keep on persisting. Twice yesterday and at least   twice today!! "cest la vie"

Receiced a call in the evening at 6.33 pm left no message, they hung up immediately when my voice message turned on.

It seems that these people are well backed up, TPS and all the complaints have not resulted in stopping GFK.
they call my mobile, home landline and work, day and night up to 9PM.
This has been going for more than a year.
Recenlty they are using unknown number as their previous numbers are exposed to people.
Interesting fact, have a friend who just moved from Canada last month and registered on the electoral roll and bought a new line from BT, as soon as he was confirmed to be registered on the electoral database which has not been published yet, he was contacted by GFK. You make your own conclusion,

They claim to be a debt collection agency looking for a Mr Lee Collins.

They have phoned my house a minimum of 40 times in the last 9 months.  I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling and that noone of that name lives here or has done!

Just received a call claiming they were doing a survey on learning ..... hopefully they learnt I was interested

Saw the number come up and as I don't know anyone with a London number I ignored it. No message left. It's clear looking at the comments here we must all continue to ignore calls from this number.

This call took place at 20.54 last night (February 17th 2011) It was from GSKNOP and for a survey.
As my mother is very ill, when the phone rang I thought that the call was about my mother. I am very angry about this call The company has no right to ring at that time of the evening.

These people rang this afternoon but phone stopped before I woke up!!  Did 1471 and thought it to be a scam call.  Came on here and sure enough...l

Calls from this number and from 02078909053 only started when I opened an account with the Halifax.
This number seems to be from a marketing outfit associated with the Halifax,
and the 9053 number from Aqua Marketing, another outfit associated with the Halifax.
A visit to the Halifax confirmed that my account with them has been flagged for "no marketing calls" ever since I opened it.
They claim that they never pass on a customer's phone number to other organizations.
As my number is ex-directory I can see no explanation other than that the Halifax have done precisely that, or that this/these marketing organizations have generated a random number to call.

I feel a letter to the Halifax Chief Executive coming on!

Even if you are registered with TPS (as  I am), all these "marketing" companies get around this by generating random phone numbers. This practice is not covered by the TPS. Any decent company now abides by the TPS rules, as they can be fined. These companies are not registered with the TPS and call themselves Tele Marketers to get around the TPS regulations. Please see the link to the petition above and sign it. Maybe one day the will get the message.

To "Diana" .....Well after reading your comment I guess that you probably work for them and are trying to make us mere mortals feel re assured that its a bona fide company,, because they have a fancy website etc. etc.  Well we dont want to be bothered by intrusive calls asking for bank details and pensions or schooling for kids or anything else come to think of it. So please leave us alone. Thank you

another unsolicited call - TPS failed again!

Received a call from this number two nights running asking to speak to my partner by name. I asked who was calling and was told that he was carrying out a survey. When I asked who for, he told me that due to the nature of the survey, he could only reveal that to my partner. I told him that without that info, I couldn't put him through and he hung up. Better not ring again!

i receive a phone call from gfk nop at 7.30pm she said she is doing a survey on behaif of mobilty and DWP asked me for my disability son details and about his income and his bank i then  hung up on her i rang 1471 and got ther number 02078909051

had a call from the same number it was put through to me I googled it to check if it was a scam n low n behold it is. they hung up as soon as I accepted the call. I did 1471 so won't bother calling them back.

I had a call this evening from this number - it is 7.10pm - did not pick up as I have caller ID - also had a withheld number on my mobile earlier - how do they get numbers?? real nuisance - have started to unplug phone overnight
