This number just called me on my mobile.  Didn't recognise the number so I didn't answer it.  I am glad I didn't now.  I've set my mobile to send it straight to my voicemail from now on.

Please call your phone company now and ask them to add call barring feature on your phone line.

Some Indian or probably Pakistani drunk guy.

13/06/12 at 20:40 - this company phoned me up trying to conduct market research into satisfaction with the banking industry.

When I complained my number is listed with the TPS, I was told this didn't apply to them, as they were not selling anything.

I asked where they got my number from - apparently they take a phone number out of the phone book, change a few numbers and call that at random.

When I asked the poor girl at the other end of the phone never to call this number again, I was asked if there was anyone else in the house who WOULD like to speak to them. Since she hadn't got the hint (sounds "high pressure" sales to me), I was rather less polite in insisted they do not call again.

Great - I have a never been listed number, register with the TPS and companies like this resort to random dialling instead. My advice to everyone would be not to trust this company with any business whatsoever. I cannot believe this is how a reputable company operates.

Why does this number keep calling me when our telephone no. is ex. directory. they call me at all times and at the weekend

Just had call from 02078909051 to landline which fortunately went to our voicemail.

It does not appear to have been established, from the comments on this thread, whether this is a bona fide company or not. If they identified which branch the lady above visited, that suggests they are working for that bank - they certainly would have no other way of knowing that.

However, from some of their actions and comments it sounds as though they are cowboys.

had a calll from this number 02078909051 answered it scottish man on the other end going on about a survey told him wasnt interested but wouldnt take no for a answer so i put the phone down dont like to put the phone down on anyone but these people get on your nerves disturbing people.pity they havnt got better things to do stupid people.

I understand from other people who have been called by this number  and answered them that it is GFK NOP. I am on the telephone preference scheme but still get calls from people like this. I work from home so ignoring calls is difficult for me but neither have I the time or patience to be polite to these unsolicited callers. They are persistent - have rung 2/3 times this week.

Had them call a few minutes ago, rung back and it was the market research company as mentioned. DH had a letter from one of the wholesalers he uses for his business a few days ago saying that this company would be ringing as he had been selected to answer some questions regarding his buying habits etc.

Just had a missed call from 02078909051 - TPS registered so it really winds me up that I still get cold calls.  Went to voicemail but they didn't leave a message

Called form this number by a polite gentleman asking question about my local health care. They asked no questions about me personally but knew a lot about the local health care system - which you would expect.

Seems like a genuine company doing market research on the satisfaction of people who have recently had some care/services from the NHS.

Just had a call from this number. Claiming to be conducting market research on behalf of Aviva. I told her my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service. The female caller said the TPS was there to stop sales calls. I had to disabuse her and told her the TPS was there to stop unsolicited calls and her call was unsolicited. She rang off.

Recived call today, Did not answer 7 oclock on the dot, Friday, Phones not rang in weeks but i did get a call other day on my mobs, and after checking it was from a bingo site, I think posh or wink, It was on another thread, Verry simaler number?

Received a call from this number and I answered a marketing survey about my knowledge of companies who are involved in car windscreen replacement and repair.

•The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is a free service.
•It is the official central opt out register on which you can record your preference not to receive unsolicited sales or marketing calls.
•It is a legal requirement that all organisations (including charities, voluntary organisations and political parties) do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless they have your consent to do so.

GFKNOP are a bona fida company with which I have had some dealings and, on occassions, received some rewards for doing so.

However, I have just rfeceived a call from them, during my evening meal, where they hung up when I answered! I have therefore sent them an email informing them that I have blocked their number as they hung up without speaking.

Thank You for that info, I've had a few calls from that number. I phoned back and it said " I had been called by GFKP OR GFPK. But You ansewr here is helful.

phone from a company on 0207 8909 051 saying they were doing a survey on behalf of bank and started asking her questions about credit cards and Mortgages. i told them i not doing a SURVEY they said they do commission these surveys and you will also get something i said the same to her . told them to take the phone no of their computer  i see if they do if not i put more on this page to.
