I've even had calls from Asian call centres as late as 9.00pm on a Sunday before now. They usually get told to FOXTROT OSCAR!

They rang 3 times times tonight and last night at 8.30.  Told them not to bother me but obviously they have ignored

Received call from this number twice so far in the last 2 weeks.
I answered the first time, they said that they were conducting a survey, I told them I was not interested.
The second time they rang, I did not answer and they did not leave a voice message.
I also received a withheld number the day after the first call, that caller also did not leave a voice message.
Not sure if that is connected.
Read other posts and can confirm that this number is GfK NOP.

He was supposedly doing a survey on behalf of the government. Yeh, right, Like David Cameron's interested in my wife's opinion! I blocked the number on my call blocker bought from Amazon for less than £40. Mr Survey won't be coming back here - at least on THAT number.
And since he had the temerity to be supposedly representing HM Government, I'm reporting this to the ICO to put the massive weight of my complaint behind the thousands of others that are having no effect at all on the exploitation of this "free market" economy by nomarks such as these.

I received a call from this number on Sunday 17th March at 3pm. No message was left

I've had a call from this number and it appears others have too.
Like other messages that I've seen on this page, my number is ex-directory and only given to a few.
Which company is behind the calls?

They are still trying. Phone rang 5.45p.m.Going out so I cut her off sharpish. Did 1471 on my return home and this number came up.

They just rang me on Bank Holiday Monday!  It's about time these pests were dealt with properly with new laws.

Meanwhile, pressing "Block Now" on my Call Blocker was very satisfying!

They called me after 6pm on a phoneline purely dedicated to my internet. The number is not listed anywhere, I never get calls on it so I am furious that they have the cheek to bother me on this line.
I already have a Truecall Call Blocker on my main line which does the trick so I hope I do not have to buy another unit for this other line now.

got a call from this company used who calls me to find out who it was as i missed the call and got a silent message (annoying). Gonna start blowing a whistle down the fone if this continues, yeh it might deafen the caller but if they didnt call harrassing me and wasting my time unsolicited then it wouldnt happen.

I got a phone call from 02078909051 today.  I don't want these call and had gone to the trouble of changing my phone number and only giving the new one to family thinking this would mean no one else would have the number. but they still get hold of it.  I noticed in someone's response that they say get them to take you off the list but I tried this before  I changed my phone number it does not work.  I know people have to have jobs but only the vulnerable take these calls and then they leave themselves wide open to financial abuse among other things.  Is it now not time to make it against the law to make these nuisance phone call?  This would then protect the innocent. No more cold calling please because no one like it.

GFK/NOP is, in fact a genuine Market Research Company.  If you go to their website and use the "Contact Us" facility you can stop the calls.  It's quick, easy, and it works. Make sure you tell them to remove your information from ALL their data bases for ALL their companies.  This is because a) they are part of a group and removal from one companies data bases does not remove it from others and b) different groups of researchers do different surveys and even though you tell one caller to remove your number, other groups can still access it.  It is no use not answering your 'phone as the researchers are trained to keep 'phoning until someone answers, so that we have the opportunity of answering their questions!!  The opt out method given above really works as I have used it for every genuine MR Company and no longer get calls.  Unfortunately there are now overseas fake companies which pretend to be doing surveys, UK Opinion Polls and Consumer Lifestyle are two of them, and they are just data collecting companies who will sell on your info.  Those calls can't be stopped, so just hang up.

Got a call around 21.00pm last night from these wa*kers. Never answer the house phone in any event,....

my second unsolicited this afternoon.  At least they gave a company name and I did not get £number not known" on 1471.  I have now found a piercing noise to play at such calls  - a birthday card with a fat lady screechiing!

Got a call from them at 6.30pm yesterday. If they are a genuine market research company then any information you give them will be used for their profit. I suggest you either tell them to stop phoning, or offer to help them for a payment of £10 in advance.
