sunday calling,any calling,on tps but still getting these callls

Called on Bank Holiday Sunday to ex directory number.  When will Ofcom deal with this abuse?

Just had a call, on Bank Holiday Monday.  After he said who he was, I just put the phone on the worktop and carried on with what I was doing until he realised and gave up.

Caught me at a bad time this afternoon.  Market research may be necessary but as the poster 'disgruntled' points out they profit while you're just being inconvenienced.  Should be opt-in instead of opt-out, then they'd talk to people who're happy to hear from them and the rest of us can enjoy some peace and quiet!

They called asking to speak to the Director of the company. Said they were from the Pensions Regulator!! Obviously not :-(

A very well know Telepest. Cold callers. Pain in the [***]. 11am on a Sunday morning. Glad to be changing my home phone / Broadband next month and will be getting a new number.

Make your complaints, you're only making yourselves look stupid. I've just spent the entire of Sunday calling you to conduct a bank survey. (For a large market research company, not neccessarily GFK) I don't feel guilty in the slightest. I'm a struggling student. I've been rejected by companies like Tesco for no sensible reason on multiple occasions. It's your own faults I'm phoning you at 6pm on a Sunday evening, give me a real job and I wouldn't have to. Simple!
Sadly until you all stop being so arrogant and greedy then I'm going to keep calling you, evening after evening, weekend after weekend!

If you'd listened to the introduction properly you'd know the caller would've said "on behalf of...whoever..from GFK NOP, a Market Research company in London"
GFK are quite strict about scripts and intros and a huge amount of calls are monitored. I've never failed on a call (yet) but I'm pretty sure if I did I wouldn't have a job for long!  
As far as market research companies go they are one of the better more respectable ones.

My wife had a call from this number tonight - spooked her as they seem to have too much information already - too dangerous to answer - OFCOM please note.

Sorry to say that the only way to make this known to OFCOM is to make a direct report yourself.

It's not dangerous although I can understand why you would think so when I call early on a Sunday Morning to ask you to participate in a banking survey!
Thing to remember is, I and all the others are just doing a job, I'm just trying to pay my way through uni so I can escape these places. I don't want to call you, I hate that moment when it's ringing and you know you're seconds away from a mouthful of abuse. Take it out on the management not us. Just say no thanks and hang up, it's not sales, we don't go into "hard sell" mode to persuade you to take part, least not at GFK anyway. As for those people who say "get a real job" if there were any out there do you think we wouldn't??

I have reported TSKNOP to ICO today. I am with TPS and they told me they use a digital dialling technique to make calls and are blatantly ignoring TPS. No such org appears if you google it - only in reference to people getting unsolicited calls.

You should be ashamed and embarrassed of yourself. You are now aware that the organisation you are working for is blatantly breaking the law and causing people distress and yet you continue to justify your own selfish position. There are always people willing to compromise morals for money - that's you I am afraid. This is not something that will look good on your CV. Unless of course you are seeking other careers where people are manipulated for profit. Have you considered becoming a drug lord?

It's actually  GFK/NOP which is one of the largest Market Research companies in the world.  Unfortunately Market Research companies are not subject to TPS rules.  The best way to stop Market Research calls is to go to the company's website and use the "Contact Us" facility.  Tell them to remove your data from ALL their data bases for ALL their companies.  The ALL is important as each group do different surveys and, if your details are removed from one survey, they may still come up on another.  The other unfortunate thing is that if you do not answer the calls they will keep calling.  This is because, as far as they are concerned, you could be missing out on the chance to answer their questions!!

No such org appears because it's called GFK NOP not TSKNOP you muppet and yet again do some research. FOR THE LAST TIME MARKET RESEARCH CALLS ARE EXEMPT FROM TPS!!!!!!!!!! WE AREN'T TRYING TO SELL YOU ANYTHING!!! Someone for reasons beyond me wants your opinion on something.

Breaking the law? Sorry, I was under the impression we called people to carry out surveys not hacked into their phones, steal their bank details and molest their kids.

Not your call to make. You are a RECEPTIONIST! There's a reason you're probably paid even less than telephone interviewers! Rest assured your company will be called-and called repeatedly until someone with authority refuses to participate. I've just quit or it might have been me calling you, such a shame that it's not!

This number is apparently the UK commission for employment & skills!  Kept me on the phone for 20 minutes.  I continued to state that there are only 3 of us in our company & we are all related.  We do not have managers or directors, we are all related! Questions like are you looking to do any training for new skills, how much do you budget for training, are you looking to recruit, would you say that you could improve your business, do you give any money to charity, are you looking to make a profit, have you employed anyone in the past 2 years. PLEASE GO AND ANNOY A LARGE COMPANY WITH THE RESOURCES TO ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS.
