- O2 CALL CENTRE WORKER!!| 3 repliesSERIOUS!! I cant believe the way some ppl r gettin on over this number! I work in the O2 marketing team, & i can see many other ppl who have posted on here also work ther so what part of 'IT IS O2' do ppl not understand??
In reply to Katie, that is not how any of us introduce ourselves as we read from an OFCOM regulated script so it shows how much you listened to the agent!
In reply to Matt, it really is only our own customers who we call so maybe your number was that of o2's before or perhaps you have bought something from o2 n gave in your mob number..
We run off an automatic dialler so if you answer your fone n no1 is ther wait 2 seconds, ther is a slight delay in the call coming thru to us, if you dont answer your number goes back into the dialler to call you a few hours later. If you hang up on the agent you will go back into the dialler or if you say ur busy you will go back into the dialler to get called back. Its how call centres work!
What we are doin is callin our customers and offering them better deals on their mobiles & also offering them even better deals on broadband etc. It genuinely is o2 & to be honest MOST ppl appreciate a better deal, its not a cold call, its ur own network provider! The reason some o2 depts may be denying knowledge of the number is because some of it is outsourced n some depts arent aware of the numbers we use!
I think some ppl need to stop freakin out, think of the thousands of ppl who arent on here complaining as they have took the time to listen to us & signed up to 1 of our deals!
IF YOU DONT WANT THIS NUMBER TO CALL YOU SIMPLY ANSWER THE PHONE & ASK THE AGENT IF YOU COULD BE REMOVED FROM THE DATABASE, IT TAKES US 1 CLICK OF A MOUSE TO DO THAT FOR YOU, although i really think you should listen to what we have to offer before you decide to do that!
IMAGINE IF WE WERE NOT CALLING YOU, WOULD YOU NOT COMPLAIN THEN IF WE WERENT TRYING TO REWARD OUR EXISTING CUSTOMERS, MOST COMPANYS ONLY OFFER BETTER DEALS TO NEW COMPANIES!!- Caller: O2 MARKETING

Unfortunately for them I have a good deal with Vodafone already and their data network is way better than O2's in any case;).

- LizI went on the 02 website and asked the virtual help assistant what the number 02202 is and below is the answer I received, hope it helps. I'm just going to ignore them as I am pay as you go and don't want an upgrade. I HATE COLD CALLERS!!
02202 is a team from O2 that are calling people to actively check their tariffs and upgrade them to a newer tariff if they wish. If you do not wish to be contacted by this team please ask them not to call you again.- Caller: 02
- Any replies to O2 CALL CENTRE WORKER!!| 1 replySure, and we will all believe some poster on the internet... (who can't spell).
Maybe it's time to tell O2 customer services to stop saying to people that this is not O2 number? - Kit replies to AnyWell, after 33 pages it appears nobody is any the wiser.
The version I have is:
02202 is an outsourcing company that are contracted by O2 to contact customers and offer alternative tariff deals. They work from a database using an automatic dialling system. This dialling system operates on the principle that if there are 10 call takers, it rings 20 people. The first 10 that answer get routed to a call handler, the 11th has nowhere to go. If you are number 11 you end up with nobody to talk to. The commercial principle is that if you ring 20 people, half of them will not answer. If you have people dialling, that means half of your staff are sitting around getting paid to listing to ring tones and leave voicemail message.
Getting on the database - If you ever at any time forgot to un-tick a box somewhere saying 'I do not want to receive offers from ...' You will end up on a database somewhere and start getting phone calls.
If you ring O2 customer services, and explain you do not wish to receive these calls, your number will be removed from the database. It helps to take a fairly robust attitude. - Iain| 1 replyIts LMB working from Belfast on behalf of O2 trying to get you to change from pay as you go a pay monthly package called simplisity. free o2 - o2 calls + 300 mins n' txt to other networks for around £15 per month not a bad package but it must be direct debit.
Hope this helps.- Call type: Telemarketer
- katesmumIt called last week, asking for my husband in a very strong accent. I offered to take a message, but she rang off. Last night there was a silent call from this number and about 10 minutes later the same voice as last week again asked for my husband. This time I told her not to call again. It was quite late, too.
- mtGot a missed call from 02202 this morning
I didn't recognise the number and so I didn't answer. They left me a voicemail message which lasted 2 minutes, and it was just noise in the background, as if they were calling from a call centre.
Hope they don't ring me back but I wont be answering if they do!
