I was just called by this number. I'm really wary of picking up numbers I don't recognise, as a friend did this, and all her credit, contacts, text messages and pictures that she'd taken were wiped from her phone... It doesn't seem as though this number is pulling this scam, but it's still pretty scary... And I agree, it's worrying how this number got our numbers. Something must have gone wrong at O2 at some point for these numbers to be available. I've been with O2 for 6 years, this problem has only just started, and I won't be picking up if they call again!

I just got rang by them yesterday.
They said they wanted to give me a 'free service review'. They changed my tariff for me. It obviously is o2 because i got a text from o2 saying ma tariff was changed to o2 unlimited. They also said that i had a tenner discount off a new phone. They guy i chatted to was ok actuli.

we have the same problem with one of my colleagues, we think its a scam.

i looked on the internet & people are saying its a scam ect..
i rang 02 its nothing to worry about they will be ringing you about bolt-ons / sales call :)

I've had the same thing, for several months. They always call me about 4.30pm! Does anybody know if they can get your card details somehow from calling you if you top up with your debit card? I doubt it, but they never actually talk back to me when I answer, so it's puzzling.

I've had three calls over the last three weeks from 02202 asking me to change my tariff. One caller asked me what colour was my car ??? All calls were made while i was at work i got real fed up told them not to ring again !! Is it only happening on o2 ?? Is it going to continue ?

I also got some of these calls.
I asked my boyfriend to answer it as I have been getting dirty text messages and didn't know if it was anything to do with it.
When he said Hello, tehy just hung up.
Dont know what to think as have looked it up on many sites and all say different things.

I dint speak they wait till i speak,
They normally wring about 1:00 in the afternoon,,

i work for O2, my friend has been reciveing calls from this number too, its not O2 ringing you, its most probably a scam number. dont answer or reply to it is normaly the best advice. mobile networks keep your numbers on a database, whitch unfortunatly other companies can get hold of if you requested marketing. companies such as Phones4you and Carphone and other 3rd parites will be able to see when your upgrades are due and what sort of spend ur on will ask Customer services to remove any marketing information from your account. again this is the only other thing you can do. hope this helps.:D

oh and just so u all know, if u happen to answer the call, it could incure charges on YOUR Bill!! so beeee careful

I got my first one today. Should I change numbers? Im only 12 and im scared they are trying to scam me! Please help!

I have ignored them calling once every day for about 2 weeks and today answered it. I didn't say anything and just listened and a man kind of cleared his throat and said helle, as if I know him..I have no idea what it is or who it is but looking at the comments above I will be changing my number the nutters.

ive been gettin calls from this number lately.. it doesnt really annoy me though. i just slide my phone up and back down...and the calls ended just really easy to deal withXD but it is annoying saying ive had missed calls from them (when my phones on silent)

I've suddenly started getting calls daily from this number stating its an "info hot line".  If I answer there is silance then I'm advised that a charge has been deducted from me.
Who is this and how do I get it stopped, is it not fraud or theft.

this number rang my mum saying it was o2 after wanting her to confirm details o2 already have which she did but that got alarm bells ring with her and the woman said she could upgrade her phone by paying with debit card over the phone she said sorry don't pay anything over the phone i will go in to o2 shop and upgrade my mum then rang o2 who said it is NOT a o2 number after she had tried to ring the number back number and it said number not recognised

Answered call, silence for a few seconds followed by noisy typical "office" background sounds.  I ended the call and will reject any others from that number.  I am on 02 PAYG

I phone O2 (4445 from my mobile).  They confirmed it is their marketing department and is not a scam.  I was nervous about giving info over the phone.  signed up for a monthly Direct Debit contract to replace my Pay As You Go service.  It sounds like a good deal.  I'll post another message here if it turns out badly.

i have just started getting  calls from 02202  once yesterday when my son answered it and he said he heard laughing then they hung up!  then again today where i answered the call and waited 4 them to talk  what do you know they hung up  how rude!!!!  i was in  the mood  of a chat:>

is there any way to block this number. Im fed up of seeing it on my missed calls. when i have answered there is just silence at the other end...very annoying
